Yashnile was no better, he's been neglecting Maddi ever since Lawrence came into the picture. He couldn't get his eyes off of them, the sour and bitterness brewed inside him, he felt betrayed that he only knew this after a week she entered the relationship. And there was no way he would be happy to give her to some random man he didn't even criticize nor meet. This was all utterly infuriating him. Yet, he could do nothing, their father approved of this, and Yanarym seems happy with him around.
The next day, everyone was ready to depart and head to the island, their father bid them goodbye and blessed them to enjoy the trip. It was a two-hour plane trip but since they were on a private jet it was reduced to a 45 minutes ride. Yanarym decided to bring her girlfriends along with them and Yashnile brought Maddi. Cailly brought her friends, Yazeno was the only one who was alone.
The private island was supposed to open two weeks from now to the public. It had a luxurious resort that was inclined with nature and some tourist spots that had exciting activities to do for adventurers. If it was about relaxing, a spa was available inside with many more chilling, unwinding services they could offer.
Each one has a separate room. Yashnile made sure that Yanarym and Lawrence wouldn't be alone with one another. Maddi, who was with him since yesterday, noticed how absent-minded he was the whole time. But she was also aware of how protective and loving her brother is, especially to Yanarym. That was why she did not say anything and let him do his brother's thing.
Lawrence was not oblivious to his circumstances, after all, Yanarym warned him regarding her over-protective siblings. Certainly, everyone in her family except her father does not welcome him. Although he wanted to try his best to be on good terms with them, he couldn't find the time, but he was sure he would prove himself to this family that he deserves to be Yanarym's boyfriend. He never expected that he would come where he was willing to legalize a relationship between both families. The playing around turned to serious matters as his feelings for her gradually deepened. And before the three months of courtship was over he decided to introduce her to his whole clan at his cousin's wedding. Everyone was happy to meet her and she got along with them pretty well, she was very sociable and no one hated her. He was proud of that.
And he thought it would be smooth sailing with her side of the family but it wasn't. He could discern that the siblings, particularly her brothers, were not accepting him as her boyfriend. They weren't saying anything but he could tell by looking.
"Kuya, something isn't right," Yanarym saw the card keys given to them and she looked at Yashnile who was talking to the manager assigning each room.
"Hmm? I'm busy right now."
"No, Kuya. Listen, my room is on the first floor, why is Law's room on the top floor?"
"Really?" He said disinterested and didn't bat an eye on her. Yanarym blinked her eyes and glanced at Lawrence who was talking to someone on the phone. She creased her brows and glared at Yashnile.
"Kuya, are you listening? Maddi! Tell him to listen to me!" She yelled and the rest of the people who were with them paused. They were all in the lobby of the resort admiring the interior design of their free vacation. And the family who technically sponsored the trip was in a dispute.
"Ahm, Nile..." Maddi, who was forced to partake in the conversation, tried to pitch in but neither one wanted to hear her opinion. Although she's been with Yashnile for months, there were still restrictions and boundaries that were set in invisible rules that Yashnile had not verbally identified but he always made her know the line where she couldn't cross.
"No, don't use Maddi to get your way Rym." Yashnile glance at Maddi who was having a hard time picking her words and redirected his eyes to Yanarym who was still gawking her eyes on him. He sneered and looked at the man she brought with her who was walking towards them. They often had an argument because of his protectiveness when it comes to her, and sometimes she gets what she wanted, and today, was not those times.
Ever since yesterday, they haven't talked privately, he was busy preparing things needed for the vacation and sending off their father to the airport. The fact that she had a boyfriend without his knowledge was already getting on his nerves. What about having a room side by side? No one knew what they would do, and he doesn't trust this man to respect boundaries between them and his sister. He doesn't know how far they get --- just thinking about it makes his blood boil.
"What? Get my way? What are you saying?!" She protested, "This is my vacation too, I can enjoy being with the person I want to be with! You can't just decide to separate us!" Cailly who went to the bathroom saw this scene, immediately ran in their direction because none can pacify them other than her. While Yazeno was standing on the side, he agreed on what their eldest brother had done. "Did I ever get on your way with Maddi? Did I?!"
"Maddi and I are different from you, Rym."
"Different? How are you different?! We're lovers too!"
"You can't be in a room or near a room with that man! And that's it."
"His name is Lawrence! Kuya!"
"Hey, hey, what's going on?" Cailly intercepted but none of them spoke, Yanarym rolled her eyes and stamped her feet away from Yashnile.
"What happened?" Cailly turned her head to their older brother and he sighed.. He was about to follow Yanarym who walked out and was followed by Lawrence.
