Chapter 106

Disclaimer: The following medical case in this chapter and the next one was just base on my imagination and I have no idea if it is really possible or not. I am not a doctor or even works in a hospital, my profession is too far from it but I do love watching dramas or series like 911, good doctor an many more. So I base most of the medical things in my novel from research or dramas that I watch.

Also! this chapter is shorter than normal since it is connected to the next one which I hope you will all like both of the chapters.

After conducting all of the tests, Ken took his son to the VIP room that his grandfather had gotten for his great-grandchild. When they arrive there, the room was empty but it is visible that everything was ready for his son's arrival. And just a few minutes before the arrival of Dr. Kirigaya, Ken's parents and grandfather arrived.

"I see that you are all here now, I have all of the lab results of your son Ken. To be honest, I don't know how I should explain it to you" said Dr. Kirigaya who just went inside the VIP room.

"Why? is something wrong with my son?" asked Ken, behind him was Dr. Akifumi who was holding his son's shoulder.

"the answer to that is yes and it is very complicated"

"what do you mean by complicated?" asked Chairman Sato.

"it is complicated in a way that it is a very rare case rather it only happens to one child over a million kids out there."

"Dr. Kirigaya, please go straight to the point, is my grandson's life in danger?"

"yes, chairman. The kid needs to undergo surgery as soon as possible"

"then we set a group of a surgeon who will operate him, Akifumi assign a doctor who can operate on Tsuki we-"

"chairman! As I have said a while ago it is a very complicated and rare case. We cannot operate him like how we normally do. These are the X-ray and CT-scan of your great-grandson. Please take a look at it" Dr. Kirigaya interrupted chairman Sato who was asking his son-in-law to assign a surgeon for his great-grandchild. He took out the test results and showed them to the whole family of Ken. Dr. Sato was the first one who looks at the CT scan while Ken and his mom looked at the X-ray. From where Chairman Sato stand he saw the result of the X-ray when Ken lifted the x-ray sheet.

"Dr. Kirigaya, is this really the test result of my grandson?" asked Dr. Sato who also saw the x-ray after he looked at the CT scan.

"that's right, I have already doubled check it before going here and it is Tsuki Sato's test results. As you can see, Ken's son needs to undergo an operation with both heart and brain. We will need an expert on this one since it should be done at the same time or rather both doctors should be in the OR at the same time just in case something happens. That is why it is a complicated case that any doctor or surgeon in our hospital couldn't do it. Even if we have the best cardiologist and neurologist, it wouldn't be the same since the patient they need to operate on is a 2 years old kid. It would be best to have a pediatric surgeon who also specializes in either cardio or neuro."

"right, Aki, do you do think you can do it?" asked Dr. Sato. His wife is one of the two pediatric surgeons of their hospital but even with that, he knew that Dr. Akifumi doesn't specialize in any of the two that Dr. Kirigaya just said.

"No, I can't, plus heart and brain are both complicated and delicate areas of the human body more so a kid's body. I don't specialize in any of those two departments so I can't do it and I don't think Dr. Mae could do it since we both do general surgeries."

"I see, then what should we do? We can't let our grandson suffer like this"

"I know but…Ken, say something! It's your son's life!" Dr. Akifumi had noticed that his son haven't uttered a single word ever since he heard the complications that his son is suffering.

"If I may say something, Chairman you are good friends with the chairman of CGH right?" asked Dr. Kirigaya

"Yes, that's right, and what about it?"

"well, I've heard that a doctor from Elite A hospital is also working in CGH but for only three-six months per year. Also even if that doctor wouldn't be able to attend his patients in CGH for that designated time, he sends a proxy who is also a very capable one."

"Elite A? what are you pointing out Dr. Kirigaya"

"Elite A hospital is located in country A, they specialize in children's well being or to be exact that is the only hospital which has doctors specializing in pediatric surgery in almost all departments. Also, most of the doctors in that hospitals are geniuses since the hiring process is too hard to pass. Anyway, my point is if the chairman can ask his friend to ask that doctor to look at the case of Ken's son. There is a possibility to save the child with his help."

"Hmn…I'll call him right now" upon hearing what the chairman said, his assistant immediately dialed the number of the CGH chairman before handing it over to his boss.. Just after three rings the chairman of CGH answered the call in which Chairman Sato put on a loudspeaker for everyone to hear.
