Chapter 27 - Threesome (3)
Alright, what he said made sense. There was no need for containers. In a pocket space where time was frozen, the water wouldn't move.
After Bei Nuan finished boiling the water this time, she quickly tapped the surface of the water with her finger. When she was putting stuff away, she focused on thinking she only wanted the water and didn't want to take the pot. Unexpectedly, she succeeded.
The hot water was like a piece of crystal clear jelly in the pocket space. It was as solid as a block of ice, maintaining the same shape as when it was in the pot.
Other than the heat she felt on her fingertip when she touched the hot water, there was no issue with using this method.
Bei Nuan immediately turned on the other stovetop burners. It didn't take long to store a row of hot water blocks in her pocket space.
Since this worked, it meant she could store cold water in her space without a container too?
She stacked up blocks of cold water in her pocket space even faster. It didn't take long for Bei Nuan to form a wall of cold water blocks.
"So what are you up to now?" Du Ruo asked.
Bei Nuan ripped open a packet of hot pocket seasoning.
"I'm going to use this ying-yang hot pot. Once the soup is boiling, I'll put it into the pocket dimension. That way whenever I want to eat, I can take it out in its boiling state. So convenient."
The zombies were about to break into the city, and here she was, thinking about how to eat hot pot.
Not everyone understood the world of foodies. Du Ruo immediately recognized his foodie brethren.
Standing behind Bei Nuan, he watched as she put in thinly sliced lamb and beef into the pot. A bit pitiful, he asked, "What if I want to eat some now?"
It would definitely be too late to eat it now.
The sound of a bell tolling came through the window. The sound was a bit muffled through the glass, but it could still be clearly heard.
Bei Nuan's heart trembled with the sound of the bell tolling. She looked out the window.
In the near distance, there was a big clock in the downtown area. The last rays of the sunset passed by the clock face before disappearing.
The bell for 7 o'clock rang again and again. The sounding of the bell was punctual. The city was like a big ship that slowly sunk into darkness.
The bathroom door opened.
Lu Xingchi was already dressed. He was buttoning the cuffs of his shirt as he leisurely strolled out.
Bei Nuan looked at his incomparably fresh and handsome face and thought; Lu Xingchi; I'm placing all my chips on you. I went along with your insane idea of going to a hotel instead of fleeing the city. Don't let me down.
Bei Nuan put the boiling hot pot into her pocket space and looked out the window to the streets below.
Sure enough, there was a huge crowd rushing over here from City S's highway direction. The line of defense had fallen.
The zombies ran as fast as humans. For a while, she couldn't distinguish between the living and undead.
Du Ruo took out a long black cloth bag from his bag. Bei Nuan had seen this black bag poking outside of his bag for a while.
Du Ruo opened the bag and took out a knife. It was a flashy knife that looked like a prop for cosplay.
"What's this?" Bei Nuan leaned over.
"Ming Hong Knife, "Du Ruo solemnly said, "When the ancient emperor had Xuan Yuan Sword made, the melted leftover material flowed down and into the shape of a knife. The emperor thought the killing intent of this knife was too heavy and wanted to use Xuan Yuan sword to destroy it, but the knife changed into a bird and flew away."
(T/N: The character for Ming is the onomatopoeia for cry of birds, animals, and insects in Chinese.)
Bei Nuan: "..."
This guy's affliction of grandiose delusions was too serious. He couldn't be saved.
Bei Nuan reached out to touch it. Sure enough, the blade wasn't sharp at all.
Bei Nuan scanned over her pocket space and solemnly took out a simple and practical crowbar. She weighed the crowbar, raised her small arm, and symbolically swung it.
With a swish, she almost fell over with the crowbar.
Du Ruo: ".."
"It's okay," Du Ruo comforted Bei Nuan, "We have him anyways."
Lu Xingchi was currently calmly pressing spikes into the magazine. He had filled two magazine boxes while they were messing around.
