Chapter 73 - An utter psychopath (1)

Huo Ren tilted his head and looked at Bei Nuan with a half smile. His eyes suddenly lit up, and he stood up. He left his seat and walked towards Bei Nuan.

Bei Nuan tensed.

He stopped in front of Bei Nuan and took a moment to savor her frightened appearance before walking around her, opening the door, and calling someone in.

The yellow-haired man was conscientiously guarding the door. Huo Ren quietly went over what he wanted him to do.

Bei Nuan vaguely made out that Huo Ren wanted to hang up something and something about zombies. His voice was too quiet. She couldn't clearly hear him.

It took a while for Huo Ren to go over his order. Once he was done, he closed the door. When he was walking past Bei Nuan, he suddenly grabbed her arm.

"Come with me. I want to show you something fun."

His steps were brisk, and his mood was exuberant. In one breath, he had dragged Bei Nuan to the balcony. It really looked like he was taking her out to show her something entertaining.

This was the balcony he had been standing on yesterday when he shot someone for no reason.

Looking down, she could see a lot of people in the yard. It was a sea of heads with black hair. She couldn't tell who was who without carefully looking.

Everyone had nothing to do. They couldn't leave the refuge, so they were all out here to bask in the sun.

Huo Ren had pulled her to the balcony railing. Just when Bei Nuan was about to suspect he was going to throw her down from the fourth floor, he let go of her and looked down at the crowd too.

The yellow-haired man and a few guards with guns had come out of the guard building. They walked into the crowd of people basking in the sun and dragged out two people, a thin young man and a young woman. They seemed to be boyfriend and girlfriend.

The guards didn't explain and just dragged them away.

"Why are you guys dragging us?" The young man didn't dare to physically resist. "What did we do wrong?"

The guard was indifferent. "You broke the rules of this place."

The young man was baffled. "Huh? We haven't broken any rules. What rule did we break? Is this a mixup?"

The guards ignored him and dragged him and his girlfriend to the big iron gate.

The gate here was as tall as the walls. There was a concrete walkway above the black iron gate. There was a narrow staircase to go up there.

The guards took them to the walkway and tied up their wrists.

The people in the yard couldn't see what was happening. Bei Nuan could see from the balcony and suddenly realized what they were about to do.

Bei Nuan turned her head and incredulously looked at Huo Ren.

Huo Ren smiled at Bei Nuan with delight. "Interesting, right? I'll show you fishing."

After the two people were tied up, the guards kicked them off the walkway. The two people hung from the walkway by their wrists.

The two people screamed together.

There was a main road right outside the gate. Since this was the outskirts of the city, it wasn't lively. There were only a few scattered zombies hanging around the road. Hearing these screams, they frantically rushed over.

However, the gate was tall and the hanging rope wasn't long. With the zombies' heights, they were short by a little bit from grabbing those two people.

The young man and his girlfriend screamed and desperately curled their legs, lest they be dragged down by the zombies.

With the zombies trying to grab them below, these two people were scared out of their wits. Their mournful screams were incomparable, which attracted even more zombies to come over.

One after another, zombies rushed in this direction. Within a short time, there was a large group of zombies gathered outside the big iron gate.
