Chapter 74 - An utter psychopath (2)
Although the people in the yard couldn't see what was happening outside, they could hear the screams of the two people and the roars of the zombies.
The yard was full of people, but it was dead silent.
There were only the screams from outside the gate that stimulated their nerves.
"Other people put out bait for fish. I put out bait for zombies. How fun, no?" Huo Ren leisurely asked Bei Nuan.
Bei Nuan didn't make a sound.
"I thought you would find it fun." Huo Ren sounded regretful. "Yesterday at the riverside, I felt you were different from others."
Huo Ren leisurely braced himself on the railing.
"I heard that the person I killed was your boss. I shot him, but other than being scared, you didn't show any other reaction. Your only thought was how to keep me from killing you, right? He died. Did you not feel sad at all?"
"Why can't I hate my boss?" Bei Nuan finally spoke. "I can't be the only person that wishes for my boss's death in the world, right?"
"People only say that to blow off steam. They don't mean it." Huo Ren actually seriously discussed it with her. "It's another matter to see someone you know die in front of you."
Huo Ren licked his lip and smiled. "Normal people will cry and scream. They'll be traumatized. I've seen plenty of that."
Huo Ren turned to face Bei Nuan. Leaning on the railing, he stroked her cheek and carefully examined her.
"I've never seen a person as calm as you. Stop pretending. You don't care about others. You don't have any sympathy for other people. You only care about yourself."
Huo Ren leaned over and stared into Bei Nuan's eyes.
"You have a face like this, but you're so cold and ruthless. It's just to my taste."
There had been panicked screams, one after another. They had been screaming for too long, and their voices had gone hoarse.
"Look outside. It's a new world out there."
Huo Ren leisurely glanced in the direction of the gate.
"It's not boring at all, right? The weaklings have all died. The ones lucky enough to survive will only kneel below."
Huo Ren tilted his head and enjoyed the sea of black-haired heads below.
"I give them a bite of food when I'm happy and take away their lives when I'm unhappy. They don't dare to even breathe loudly in front of me. A small show like this is enough to scare them to death, and they'll obediently obey me."
Bei Nuan thought; so it wasn't a beauty that you were after today. You wanted a partner to talk about society, life, and ideas.
Huo Ren continued to say, "In the current world, all the rules have been rewritten. It's most suitable for people like us. It's our paradise."
Bei Nuan silently ridiculed; what do you mean people like us? She wasn't a monster like him.
More and more zombies had gathered outside the gate amid the screams, clanging away by the gate.
Huo Ren curved the corner of his lips. "It's time for us to go. Let's have a good time before leaving."
Bei Nuan saw a line of jeeps slowly driving out of the garage in the back of the prison. The guards with the guns boarded the jeeps with their bags.
Bei Nuan suddenly realized what he was going to do. She looked at him in horror.
This refuge had lost its usefulness. He didn't want it anymore. Not only that, he deliberately hung two people at the gate to attract a large group of zombies. All it would take was the opening of the iron gate and not a single one of the hundred of people in the yard would be spared.
This person was an utter psychopath.
"You're worried about your little life again, right? Don't be afraid. I'll take you with me." Huo Ren smiled, left the balcony, and called the yellow-haired man in. "Take her down and find a seat for her in the cars."
Bei Nuan's mind quickly turned. No matter what method she had to use, she had to find Lu Xingchi immediately.
