Volume 3 Chapter 28: Blasphemy

Volume 3 Chapter 28: Blasphemy

It took some time before Keith arrived at the Bradley estate. The guards looked at Keith strangely, "Welcome back, Young Master Keith."

"Yeah," Keith nodded as he stepped into the estate. When he did,

"Keith!" "Ho!" "Po!" Fira, Aria, and Mir were the three to come and greet him! Keith hugged the three,

"I'm back!"

"Keith!" Camelia and Lionel soon came after,

"Hello, Grandpa and Grandma," Keith greeted the two.

Lionel suggested, "Let's go in and talk,"

"Mmhmm," Keith nodded and started to walk. But when he did, Lionel and Camelia stared at him strangely,

"Keith, are you alright?" Camelia noticed how he walked weirdly.

Keith chuckled, "I'm training right now,"

"Eh?"

"I'll explain when we get into the living room, Grandma," Like that, they continued to walk. Keith continued to do it one leg at a time. Keith entered the living room and dropped onto the sofa.

"What's going on?" Lionel questioned.

"Grandpa Cadmus gave me these bracelets to help me train and learn how to use gravity magic," Keith raised his hand.

"Can I see it, Keith?" Lionel asked. Keith nodded as he took off the bracelet and handed it to Lionel,

"Oh, this increases the gravity around you," Lionel felt the change.

"And you're supposed to wear these all the time?"

"Mmhmm."

"This is good training," Lionel took the bracelet off and handed it back to Keith.

"How did the test go, Keith?" Camelia questioned. Now that the reason for his weird walking was out of the way, it was time to ask the normal questions.

"It was easy," Keith answered with a smile. He talked about the test that he took. And when they heard that, they shook their heads,

"Cadmus always devises these weird tests."

The two shook their heads. Keith stared at them. I guess Grandpa Cadmus did something weird for them as well. Keith continued, "But the last test was annoying. I had to fight with Grandpa Cadmus,"

His words caused Camelia and Lionel's eyes to widen!

"The principal fought with you?!"

"Mmhmm," Keith nodded, "I thought it was overkill. I was about to land a punch, but he blasted my face with fire," Keith wasn't going to let this go.

"Those three are great talents. But if we're choosing the representative, they lack a certain trait,"

"I see," The proctor couldn't argue with that.

"Let's increase the requirement." Since all these students excelled, it was time to up the prerequisites,

"This year's representative should excel at everything rather than one thing, don't you think?"

"Indeed,"

"If we use this requirement, the dwarf prince and Beastman prince are out. They excel in the physical department. But they need work in the magic department."

"Then the dragon priestess should be one of the candidates. She has the highest combat abilities in both physique and magic,"

"The same could be said about the demon princess. She's the same as well."

"I want to add the nine-tail fox princess. She might be a little lower than the others. But she knows how to use ice magic. This makes up for it."

Hearing this, the proctors clutched their heads, "They are not giving us an easy time to decide!" Usually, there would be only one person who stood out compared to the others. But there were a few this time!

"Aidiun, who do you think should be the representative?"

"Yeah! You haven't said anything yet!" While everyone was having a tough time, Aidiun was silent.

"I think Marquis Freed's son is a better choice. Compared to the others, he's more well-rounded than the rest,"

"Eh?" The proctors were surprised he would bring up Keith's name.

"But he's weak compared to others," Some watched the scene of Keith's tests. He was alright. But it wasn't flashy like the others.

"He's not," Cadmus stated with a calm expression. That caused the proctors to give him a weird stare. Sohma grabbed his head,

"Explain, or people would think you're playing favorites,"

Cadmus explained, "Keith would be the best choice out of all of them. He's the most all-rounded, and he's holding back by a lot compared to others,"

"Wait, what?!"

Cadmus turned to Sohma, "Keith managed to hit me,"

"Huh?" Sohma blinked his eyes, "Were you holding back?"

"Yes. But I used about half my strength when I made the barrier. But Keith still managed to land one hit," Even if he was on the defensive, Keith landed a clean hit on him.

"..." The proctors said nothing.

"I guess we found this year's representative,"

"Mmhmm," The others nodded their heads. Sohma added, "And he's the least likely to try to use that title for personal gain." Knowing his personality was a plus as well.

"Mmmhmm," Cadmus nodded. Keith was the calmest person ever.
