Chapter 8: Try moving once more?
══════════════════
The abrupt interrogation threw Xu Zhun into a state of confusion and panic. He looked at the man in front of him in a daze, unable to understand how He Chengyang, who had been defending him just a moment ago, had suddenly started to shame him.
Afraid of angering He Chengyang even more, Xu Zhun shrank back and dared not to speak.
When he saw his pale face and the panic in his eyes, He Chengyang’s heart trembled for no reason.
That strange feeling overwhelmed him.
The car was unusually quiet as no one said a word. The atmosphere was oppressive to the point that the air in the car became sparse.
He Chengyang finally moved, pushing Xu Zhun away viciously and instead directing his anger towards an innocent tissue box.
The box of tissues was knocked to the ground and trampled into smithereens. It was as if he was fighting with someone, but it was more likely that he was annoyed with himself.
He Chengyang heaved a ragged breath and said in a low voice, “If I hadn’t shown up, would you two have negotiated a price? Heh! Aren’t I being meddlesome? What the hell am I even worrying about?”
One hand cautiously reached over and gently tugged at his sleeve.
Xu Zhun whispered, “I didn’t fulfill my quota this month, and I really came to talk about the contract. I didn’t know he …… He was such a jerk. Thank you for what you did today.”
He Chengyang’s face eased for a brief moment, his eyes were still gloomy as he said: “You went to look for him but not me? I, the president of the He Group, am unworthy of negotiating a contract with you?”
Xu Zhun waved his hands in fear and panic: “No, no! I …… How am I qualified to talk to you about a contract.”
It was so difficult to see He Chengyang that, for the appointment he got the day before to borrow money from him, it took three whole days to book. He didn’t even stay in He Chengyang’s office for more than ten minutes. Just getting an appointment with him on personal terms was this difficult so how would it be if it was for business matter? Of course he would not even be qualified to see He Chengyang.
“Come to me when you have a contract in the future.” He Chengyang grasped Xu Zhun’s wrist and pulled him in front of him, looking at him warningly, “If I ever catch you going to someone else for a deal again, I will fuck you so hard you won’t be able to get out of bed.”
Xu Zhun’s pale face instantly reddened, he lowered his head as he didn’t really have the guts to answer him.
He Chengyang felt his blood boil as he stared at his slightly blushing face.
His cupped Xu Zhun’s face, rubbing the soft skin on both sides of his cheeks, and spoke with a hoarse voice, “Be a good boy from now on, and don’t make me so angry all the time.”
Xu Zhun’s heart ached. He didn’t have many days left and he just wanted to spend the rest of his time with He Chengyang.
He wanted to save whatever time he had left for the man in front of him.
In this world, the only one he remained most attached to was He Chengyang.
“I never wanted to make you angry.” Xu Zhun’s voice was soft and made He Chengyang inexplicably soothed.
This was what made Xu Zhun so endearing.
He Chengyang lifted his delicate jaw and lowered his own lips to kiss him, his palms venturing into his clothes with unrestrained abandon.
When Xu Zhun shifted restlessly, He Chengyang grabbed his waist and pulled him into his arms domineeringly: “Try moving again and I’ll throw you out of the car immediately.”
Xu Zhun dared not move anymore and obediently allowed the man to do whatever he wanted.
The car was still smoothly moving, and it was only when they reached the outside of He Group’s building that He Chengyang let Xu Zhun leave his embrace.
Xu Zhun promptly looked down and quickly straightened his messed-up clothes.
By the time He Chengyang fastened the buttons of his suit and pulled open the car’s door, the tide of emotion had long since faded from his face and he was back to his cold, entrepreneurial image.
“What are you still standing there for? Get out of the car!”
He Chengyang glanced at Xu Zhun who was still arranging his clothes: “Clumsy and as slow as a snail.”
“I’ll be ready in a minute.” Xu Zhun picked up his briefcase before following him out of the car.
