Chapter 115: Shouldn't have played with us

'This beastmen didn't even hesitate to ruin the only pathway that led to the Giant Bell,' Xavier skidded to a halt. 'Either he is too reckless or ....' His eyes narrowed dangerously. 'They never intended to use this bell from the start!'

He heard the sound of wind moving and immediately dodged the attack that was aimed at his neck. He unsheathed his sword and swung it down; a wave of fire rose in the air and burnt down the spider web.

"Ah, the blessed sword," Alton eyed the sword in Xavier's hand with an envious expression on his face.

"What are you fuckers planning?" Xavier asked the man. After living with Damien for so long, curse words seemed to fly out of his mouth without the slightest problem.

"Hm, since you are asking so nicely..." Alton curled his lips in a smirk. He took three large strides towards Xavier while shooting a stunner sting at Levi.

"If I am not wrong, Master Andres and Clyde must have created a Dome of Poisonous Mist."

He swung his fist at Xavier, who dodged, but this time around, just as he turned left, Alton twisted his feet and kicked him on the side of his waist.

"Argh!" Xavier gasped. His eyes widened slightly before he sucked in a breath and said to the man, "What do you mean? Wasn't this temple your target from the start?"

"Hahaha!" Alton placed his hand on his forehead. "Only fools like you will believe such a foolish thing. Do you really think that we will not make a plan B in case the first plan was to fall through? We indeed planned to take down this temple including the priest and the people of this island..."

He dropped his head and looked at the two men. "But who asked you to come butting in? It was your fault that you intervened. So we changed our plans."

"The whole reason we decided to attack this Temple was because we wanted to put a halt to all the activities. As long as this city falls in a high alert mode, no one will be able to go past this place — and fortunately for us, all the cities including the Empire are joined to this island."

"As long as the rides to this place are halted... what do you think will happen?" Alton jeered. "Why don't you use your heads?" Experience more content on m v|l e'-novelhall.net

"Flex those tiny brains of yours and think– about what will cause the foundation of this Empire to shake?"

As he exclaimed, Alton threw stunners at the two men.

Alton had no idea what was coming, he was still speaking with excitement, "Now that you fools have helped us so much, I don't know how to thank you. But don't worry, we will not kill you. We will just destroy your cores."

"Just you wait! Those who have insulted and threw us in the prison —they all will have to pay the price for their actions! We will ruin them all – and when these masters who have stopped us from getting what we wanted are dead, we will rise to glory!"

BAM!

"Shut up!"

The two men charged at Alton, and while one swung his burning claws at him, the other raised his hammer, which had turned twice his size, and smashed it right in Alton's face.

"AHH!" Alton screamed as he stumbled back; he raised his hands and touched his nose.

"Bl–Blood," he muttered. He raised his head and looked Levi, evi whose entire attitude seemed to have changed as he sipped from the flask that was hanging on the side of his waist.

"You are bold; I will give you that," said Levi as he stepped towards the man. "But you know what? I like it when bugs like you scamper on the floor without biting anyone. Because when they bite someone."

He raised his hammer once again, and his eyes flashed with a reddish glow.

"It is better to squash them."

And before Alton could summon the army of spiders, Levi brought his hammer down on his head.

BANG!

The hammer fell on Alton's head causing it to burst open like a watermelon.

"You should have known the consequences before trying us."
