Bam!
Wistoria delivered a kick to the man who was feebly stirring on the ground. He was one of the few ones whom she had left alive for questioning.
"Tell me where Andres went?" She placed her foot on the head of the man and pushed it down harshly.
"I don't know ...I really don't know..." The man shook his head. "I just joined their guild; they told me nothing other than the fact that we needed to stop you here."
Hearing his response, Wistoria raised her foot and brought it down.
"AHHH!"
"You don't know anything about where he went? Then what about this mist?" Wistoria lowered her head. "How are we supposed to get rid of it, huh?"
"I have no idea!" the man squeaked. "I told you, they just asked me to come and join their guild. I was never involved in their decision-making from the start. Andres only trusted those five and no one else; they must know something."
"Are you trying to anger me—"
"Lady Wistoria!"
Wistoria paused and turned to look at the two men who were running towards her.
"What's wrong?"she asked.
"Something is very wrong, Lady Wistoria," Xavier said to her in a hurry. "These people, they never wanted to kill the priests in the temple. They just wanted the entire island to fall into an emergency. Their real targets are the masters of the various guilds."
"That's where they want to play the melody of Doomsday."
Xavier felt flustered.
The guild masters were one of the pillars who have restrained the dark guild beastmen. If they died then what would happen to the balance of Brystoria?
Especially with Emiliano doing god knows what.
He rolled his eyes and remarked, "If we are relying on the man then we might as well think of something ourselves."
As he finished speaking, he walked out of the temple without looking behind him.
Xavier watched him leave when he heard Wistoria say, "How is that man's mana training going?"
"Lady Wistoria —"
"There is no need to look at me with that expression," she said to the man with her lips curled in a smile. "But I dare say you are quite bold to hide something from me in my house."
"I didn't–" Xavier wanted to say something but Wistoria raised her hand and stopped him. She said to him, "Spare me the reasons. Just tell me whether or not my husband will stay alive after this —I fear I will not look good in black."
"You will look fascinating in black, my lady."
"Xavier."
"Yes, I am sorry," Xavier lowered his head. "He should be fine as long as he doesn't lose his head completely."
"Then you mean to say that the chances are really low?" Wistoria sighed. She crossed her arms in front and looked up at the sky that was blurred due to the cloud of mosquitoes.
Damien—you better stay alive.
"Achooo!" Damien skidded down a cliff. But he didn't stop running as he charged down the cliff and turned to look behind him.
When he saw the cheetah beastman following him, he turned and looked at the front. Enjoy exclusive chapters from m-v l'e|-novelhall.net
