"Nothing at all," Damien grunted, feeling the skin of his cheek almost tearing off. Damn it, he just asked a normal question: Was it worth tearing his cheek off for?
Lady Bloom finally left his cheek after she was satisfied with his answer. Damien raised his hand and rubbed the cheek, which was pulled to the point that he was sure the skin was hanging loosely on the side.
"Why is she so strong?" Damien muttered, and Xavier turned to look at him with wide eyes. He remarked, "Why else? She is a transcendental beastman."
"What?" Damien screeched as he turned to look at Xavier, who closed his eyes and then opened them a second later. "Why are you so shocked didn't you know it already?"
No. he didn't.
Damien turned his gaze to look at Lady Bloom and saw her rise in the air with two golden wings behind her back. She looked like a humanoid butterfly, but when he saw her fly towards the transcendental monster, he realised that she was not weak at all.
She was fast and sharp.
And the supersonic scream that she used every time she came close to the transcendental monster was so loud that Damien couldn't hear it. According to Dan, it was because the noise was way beyond the limit of humans.
Beastmen could still hear it, which explained why Wistoria and the rest were in pain, but Damien, whose beastcore was still in the process of mending, couldn't hear a thing.
Because of this, Master Godric and him were still standing while the rest were on the floor.
[Scary, this is so scary.]
The Ironclaw Eagle was twittering noisily while burying his head in Damien's hair. However, even he couldn't look away from the intense fight. Master Bloom put another burst of speed, and she was no longer visible anymore. At times they could see an orb of golden light but other than nothing.
ROAR!
"You puny bastard!" The transcendental monster let out a roar as he turned and opened his mouth. A second later, a brust of black flames erupted from his mouth, and Wistoria, who was standing beside Damien, rushed forward.
She dashed towards the transcendental monster as if she were flying on the air.
These two wouldn't necessarily let him die.
Since that was the case, why doesn't he try just once?
Maybe he would be able to get a better control over his powers?
Damien however didn't go too crazy. He knew that he was nowhere close to the four beastmen who were attacking the transcendental beast. So he stood where he was and then poured the water in his vessel onto the ground before stepping into it.
All of a sudden he felt a surge of cold in his veins and thought, so I wasn't wrong. Water is indeed the correct way to connect with my core.
As for how long he had to use water as a medium, Damien had no idea but he was not in a hurry. As long as he worked hard, he would certainly get better and stronger.
He raised his hands and took a stance with Waterblade raise in the air. Just then Wistoria flicked from one limb to another of the transcendental monster and tried to get towards his face.
"Watch out!" Damien felt his heart fall when he saw that the woman was almost right in front of the mouth of the transcendental monster. And that monster opened his mouth right at that moment.
BOOM!
"NO!" Damien screamed; he didn't know how he did it or how he even got the energy to do it, but his gut twisted painfully, and a wave of water rose in the air before slashing down the brust of flames that was aimed at Wistoria.
"Lady Wistoria!" Xavier changed into his human form just as Wistoria fell on the ground and even Damien rushed towards the woman, slumped.
"What were you thinking?" He asked when he came to a stop beside her. Her right arm was covered in burns and looked rather hideous. If she was not lucky, then she would have lost her entire arm.
He looked down at her body, which wasn't covered with a shred of clothing, and took off his jacket before laying it down around her torso.
"I wanted to blind that thing in the eye," Wistoria winced as she tried to sit up but grimaced and fell down.
"You might as well stay down," Damien told her. At the same time, he asked Dan, "Do we have any medicines to treat burns?"
