Chapter 124: A Murky Defeat

"We do," Dan replied. "There is a silver sulfadiazine ointment in the inventory. You can buy it for less than 400 fame points."

Damien, who didn't even have 40 points at the moment: "..." Good guy, he was lucky that he was just a set of data; if he were a human, Damien would have beaten him up for his unscrupulous ways.

"Can't you see the bright 0 on the side of the screen?" Damien asked Dan.

"I can," Dan turned and looked at the 0 on the screen and stated in a cold, static voice, "But rules are rules, host."

Damien felt like strangling someone upon hearing those words. Who was the one who said to him that it was necessary for him to save as many people as possible? Who was the one who told him that he should work hard and become a really talented doctor? Was it not him?

However, Damien had long learned not to rely on the AI system alone. He turned to look at Xavier and said to him, "You can go and deal with that thing. I will help her."

Though Xavier and Wistoria didn't have any other relationship other than that of a master and a servant, he still felt uncomfortable when he saw the two being close.

Damien stuffed that feeling at the back of his head and then helped Wistoria up.

Seeing that Damien had it under control, Xavier turned on his feet and charged at the transcendental monster at once.

Damien, on the other hand, helped Wistoria to one side of the forest and helped her down on the ground against a tree.

"Show me the wound on your arm," he said to her.

Usually Wistoria would have refused, but seeing the stern expression on Damien's face, she held her arm out.

Damien crouched down and looked at the burns on her arms.

Behind them, Master Bloom rose high in the air before she came crashing down. Her wings, which looked gentle and softer than snow, cut off the head of the transcendental monster.

"No!!" The monster yelled in anger and surprise before he fell down on the ground.

Thump.

The ground shook under their feet before the beastmen who were fighting with the transcendental monster morphed back into their two forms.

Bloom wiped the sweat off her forehead as she picked up the shawl that she had thrown on the ground and wrapped it around her naked torso.

"We were lucky that the mana within the music box was not as strong as it once was; it looked like the breaking of its seal led to some of its mana getting lost," said Master Godric as he crouched down and picked up Doomsday, which was no longer as terrifying as it was before.

The mana inside the music box had disappeared, which meant that it was no longer dangerous.

He wanted to keep the box inside of his space ring, but a second later the music box melted and slipped through his fingers.

"Wickedly wise," he muttered. Azazel had always been a man of many talents; though he was raised to power by following sinful means, no one could deny that the man was wiser than most.

He was always ahead of others.

No wonder he almost overturned the entire balance back then when he was alive.

Levi looked at the melted remains of the music box and remarked, "With this we have no evidence that Azazel is trying to return."

"True." Lord Godric looked down at the bubbling dark liquid with his hands behind his back. He then raised his head and looked up in the sky before saying to the rest, "We will take some rest here and then return home. I have a feeling that there is someone waiting for us."
