Chapter 138: The ultimate goal

Damien couldn't help but finish his breakfast in a hurry; he wanted to try this new skill as soon as possible. As long as he could strengthen this misty wall, he could protect himself against some attacks.

It wasn't a great thing, but in case of dire need, this skill might save his life and come in handy.

"You seem to be quite happy," Xavier turned to glance at Damien, who was humming a soft tune. "Did something good happen for you to be this chirpier at this hour?"

"Hmm?" Damien turned to look at his best guard before shaking his head. "Nothing too great; you will know once we arrive at the training grounds."

Xavier glanced at Damien but did not ask him to explain further.

As for Damien, he was so excited to try his new skill that he completely forgot that he wanted to ask Xavier about the anomaly that Wistoria spoke of.

Damien arrived at the training grounds and met with Wistoria, who glanced at him before greeting him.

As for the guards, they all turned to look at Xavier with an uneasy look in their eyes.

It seemed like they were too terrified to even speak in the presence of Xavier.

"What did you do to them?" Damien asked when he saw the reactions of the guards.

"Nothing," Xavier replied with his lips twitching slightly.

Nothing? The look on their faces was clearly saying that you did a lot.

However, Damien did not ask Xavier to elaborate since the man did not look like he wanted to discuss this matter anymore than he had already done.

Damien wasn't sure what was wrong with him, but he had a hunch that it was most likely something to do with his anomaly.

However, once he stepped inside the training grounds, he did not have the time to worry about Xavier.

As all the guards who were relieved upon seeing that Xavier was not their opponent turned to look at him with a gleaming look in their eyes.

However, as soon as he twisted on his feet and attacked, a figure flew past him, caught hold of his leg, and flew up in the sky. The guard tried to struggle, but no matter how much he moved and flailed, there was absolutely nothing he could do.

Like a mouse, he was dragged more and more higher.

"Damn! That's an ironclaw eagle," one of the guards whistled.

"Oh, he is in so much trouble," another guard remarked and winced a second later as the guard was dropped from a great height.

BANG!

"Damn, that must have hurt. No wonder, beastmen often said that the claws of the Iron Claw Eagle were the claws of death."

Once the training was over with the guards, Damien took a bath and headed over to the guild. He was exhausted but satisfied with the cooperation between him and Claw. As long as they continued like this, they wouldn't have to worry about the dangers to their lives anymore.

"Lord Damien!"

When he arrived at the guild, he heard someone call his name and raised his head. In front of him was a plump man with a smiling face.

Though the man looked kind and friendly, Damien was sure that he had never seen this man before.

"Yes?" He blinked his eyes and greeted the man who walked over to him and shook his head.

"I am Robert," the man introduced himself to Damien. "I am a healer at the temple of Axion."

"Okay? How can I help you?" Damien had a feeling that this man was not looking for him for no reason.

And his hunch was correct as the man smiled at him and excitedly rubbed his hands. He said to Damien, "I heard that you brought back a man to life yesterday."

Ah, so this was his goal.
