Chapter 7 - I can be your driver

Sky was mulling over the things which HR executive said. she really never liked to appoint a secretary.

The office was silent for a long time, Andy looked at her aloof face.

It reminded him of her petite face smiling all the time around him. Pouting and making silly faces when she was angry.

He wished he can see her like that again.

'Do I even deserve her as a mere acquaintance?' He mocked himself for ignoring her just because of a new person in his life.

Hearing no reply from the CEO, Lilly and the executive were very anxious than their exam results day.

Executive thought that the CEO was angry and may fire him. Hence he started to apologize.

But he couldn't conceal the anxiousness and stuttered, "I'm sorry Miss.Sky, I will not give any wrong suggestions from next time. Since you don't have a secretary and driver, I thought since this gentleman is close to...."

Sky shot him a look before he completes his sentence. The executive started to shiver and prepared himself for the consequences.

Andy noticed the uneasiness and overbearing aura around Sky.

He glanced towards the executive, "Sky, he said you don't have a driver, I can be your driver."

"It doesn't suit your qualifications."

"Forget that I have any such qualifications. I will be happy with the job. Just like the past, I'll drive you wherever you have to go."

His last remarks made Lilly and Executive look at each other in surprise. Sky clenched her fist.

Sky shook her head, "How about being my secretary? you can learn about your work from Assistant Lilly." she moved her chin to point Lilly.

Lilly spoke courteously, "Yes mister, I'll help you with the work."

Office door jolted open and sixty-something-year-old man in a blue suit with grey hair, holding a stick for his balance as he entered the room.

He had an overbearing presence of the king which makes people to stand and give respect.

Lilly and Executive greeted him in unison, "Hello Chairman Harley."

Sky stood-up, "Dad." she went towards Mr. David Harley, "Why don't I know that you are coming back today?"

She had a pleasant surprise on her face but it didn't last long.

David brushed Sky's question, "What is he doing here? who allowed him here?" he shouted furiously at Andy.

Sky's face turned sour. Andy made a bow to David and was silent.

Assistant Lilly answered chairman, "He came looking for Ms.Sky for the job. As per Executive's suggestion, Ms.Sky offered him her secretary position."

Lilly was personally appointed by Chairman Harley. she was loyal to the company and she was reporting the progress of work to chairman whenever the latter asked. Reporting also included his daughter's things.

For unknown reasons, Sky was unhappy with Lilly's response and yelled at Executive and Assistant to go out, "Both of you, get out."

Those two can only leave the room after bowing to David and her.
