Chapter 137 - Road trip

"Ms.Sky, Amie Milton studied business management in aboard and joined Harley for the work experience. She liked your dad and they dated for two years before marrying. Since her parents didn't like your dad and his status back then, they disowned their daughter. Later she changed her name to Amie Harley and quit her job to be a housewife. Then you were born. Since she was very weak, Mr.Harley wanted to send her to states for better treatment but..."

Sky cut in thinking he would tell that Amie perished. "Why her parents didn't accept Dad? He had his own business."

"Ms.Sky, Mr.Harley was new to business during that time and Amie Milton is a daughter of the Milton empire which has nearly hundreds year of history."

"The Milton Empire!" Loran exclaimed.

Milton Empire was the second largest in the country. They were in many different business sectors. They hold the market capital more than Harley. They were rivals in real estate and new one Fashion industry. There were rumors that they have some illegal business under them but their own law firm was expert and managed everything.

Sky's head throbbed when she was reading the file in her hand. She rubbed her temples and continued to read. Jai took the file and asked, "Sky, What's wrong?"

"Why am I suddenly involved with these complex families? Four years back Harley, Now Milton. I was so happy with you guys."

Jai rubbed her head and checked the file. Sky asked her doubts, "Even though they disowned their daughter, How long can they be angry? Why didn't they come and meet me or Dad after all these years? Don't they know about me?"

Somehow Sky felt matters weren't simple as they seem. Even if the family says they disowned their daughter, they can't be angry for a longer time if they really loved each other. And older generation values and dote on their grandchildren dearly.

"Ms.Sky, They got to know about you when you took over the Harley" Sam replied.

Sky furrowed her brows. "They are complex people. Let's not get involved with them. Get me the health reports of Amie Milton before she died."

Peter and Sam looked at each other before responding. "They are not available."

"Meet doctor or nurse who attended her and get me the information" Sky commanded.

"Ms.Sky, After a month of your birth, Hospital was destroyed in an abrupt fire. There are no records and doctor, nurses lost their life too." Sam said the matter of fact.

"Oh, So Except Dad, nobody knows about it now. And the old man will not tell me." Sky mumbled to herself.

Jai was sitting next to Sky, flicked her on the head, "Old man? or Dad?"

"Ouch" Sky rubbed her head. "Should I ask Dad again?" Sky asked Jai.

"Nope, Give him some time, he will tell you when time is right. Now go and pack your clothes for the road trip." Jai successfully buried her curiosity temporarily by changing the topic.

"Cool." Sky and Loran went to the first floor to get ready.

"You two! Come to study, now" His gentle voice was nowhere to be seen. His voice was cold as ice.
