Chapter 138 - It's not that simple

He didn't miss to notice the changes on the faces of Peter and Sam when they told about Amie Milton. Jai understood they were holding back some information from Sky. Jai clearly knew that if they were hiding something means that can't be a good thing.

Sam and Peter followed Jai to the study room. "Speak" Jai sat on a head seat of the couch and gestured them to sit.

"Mr.Barton, If I'm right, you already know Ms.Sky is being protected by the Milton family. Her mother's death and disaster behind the hospital and its staff are pointing to the Milton family. Eventually, Mr.Harley got to know that we investigated it and he told us to stop it and..."

They heard a noise near the door and everybody turned towards the door. Loran who was leaning on the wall next to the door tried to calm down first.

Loran was smart enough to notice the changes between those three and quietly followed them when they entered the study room. When he was eavesdropping but he lost the balance which created a foot-tapping sound.

He started to ask randomly before entering the room, "Brother Jai, Where are we going? When are we coming back?"

Jai narrowed his eyes at him, Loran gulped his saliva and took a step back, "I'm sorry"

Jai watched him, he knew Loran wouldn't go out even if he asks him to leave the matter to him. He shook his head resignedly and signaled Peter to continue.

"Mr.Harley told us not to give much information about Milton's family except business stuff and their target is Ms.Sky to be their caged bird if her appearance threatens her uncle, I mean President Milton."

"Why do they want my sister to be like that? She never met them and Harley isn't even competing with them." Loran asked his main concern.

"Loran, It's not that simple. In simple words, More than half of the Milton empire belongs to Sky." Jai responded to him.

"Then transfer everything to them and leave sister without any worries. Isn't this simple and best." Loran knew Sky never cared about all those.

"Mr.Loran Barton, Matter is not as simple as what you heard. If signing a piece of paper could do, Mr.Harley would have taken care of everything by now. In fact, her life is more important to Milton's. If anything happens to Sky, Her all shares, properties everything goes to the charity." Peter explained patiently to him.

'So sister Sky will be fine as she will not go to them.' Loran thought to himself and turned towards Jai.

"Brother Jai, We have the wealthiest woman in our country with us now." Loran started laughing.

Other three men were speechless looking at him. "Mr.Loran, What you heard now is very confidential. I hope you can keep that with you."

"I can do that, No worries. Brother Jai, I have to go and pack." Loran said and went to his room.

Once they confirmed that Loran left, Sam spoke, "We didn't get the will of Old master Milton but we have a piece of information that, Milton legal team is working hard on that to find a loophole. If they find the loophole and if their problem can be solved by any means through Ms.Sky, then her life will be in danger."
