Chapter 159 - Drink while it's hot

Sky noticed Jai who was sitting on a couch facing towards them. Jai waved his hand when he saw Sky's eyes on him.

She sighed after seeing him. She saw a man whose back of the head facing her, She knew he was David. Latter glanced back once. Peter was sitting on a barstool near the mini bar counter.

Maxwell strode towards the kitchenette. Sky was astonished as she looked around and moved towards Jai, Sam's side profile was visible to Sky who was busy in front of big-screen wearing headphones, his fingers were dancing on the keyboard at a high speed.

Jimmy was in the fully equipped gym at one end of the floor who gave a small nod as a greeting when Sky noticed him. Clark was in front of a big wall which was filled with small and many numbers of screens.

It had live videos of her office, Harley corporation, surroundings of Harley mansion. What shocked her more was, there was live surroundings video of the Barton Mansion, Loran's studio and Jai's indoor stadium which was in the town.

Sky was walking fast on her white pumps, she stumbled back when she turned right at the pillar near the couch, "Loran, Are you trying to scare me?" Sky balanced and patted her chest.

Sky calmed in no time and saw a faint smile and gloomy face of Loran. "What's wrong?"

Sky saw Loran, David. they had a feeble smile but somber mood. Jai naturally approached her and smiled brightly as usual. That assured her she hasn't done anything wrong.

'These petty people must be creating a mountain out of a molehill.' She thought to herself and turned towards Loran and shocked.

She took a few steps and reached Loran as she spoke, "Jessica, Why are you sitting on the ground? It's very cold."

Sky bent down and held her shoulder to help her stand. But Jessica swung her hands which resulted in Sky to fall back on the floor.

Loran was a little late to hold her and nobody expected Jessica to behave like that. Jai and Loran helped Sky to get up. Sky was puzzled by her behavior and looked at Jai for an explanation.

That's when a sharp sound resounded which turned her attention back to Jessica, David had slapped Jessica on her cheek which instantly formed red marks on her pale face. But Jessica didn't even budge or made any sound.

"Dad!" Sky shouted. David ignored Sky and sat back on the couch.

Jai stopped Sky when he saw her moving towards Jessica and pulled her towards the couch. Maxwell handed a cup of hot milk to Jai, who passed it to Sky.

"Drink while it's hot. It's cold in here." Jai told to Sky as she covered her legs with a chunky knitted blanket.

"Is anybody going to tell me what's going on?" Sky looked at everyone and stopped at Jai.

Peter saw Jai looking towards Loran and he spoke. "Do you remember your picture was posted on social media by her?" Peter pointed Jessica.

Sky nodded. She knew they don't gather just for that matter. And Jessica won't react with her like that either so she waited for him to complete.

"That's not the only thing she did. The day before she uploaded your picture, she sent your picture to four printing press and gave them some different stories."
