Chapter 189 - Stop right there

James and his wife wished her to get well soon before leaving with Ethan.

Sky sent David, George, and Georgia back home. But she couldn't convince to send Jai and Loran. Both wanted to stay so she agreed.

"I'm hungry." Sky said and she also knew they haven't had dinner. Jai sent Loran to get food then Sam entered the room.

Before he could say anything, Sky apologized immediately. "I'm really sorry, I'll never do it again. I shouldn't have disregarded your words. I shouldn't have gone on my own. I thought I would be fine as there were no sounds of bullets. But I overlooked the fact that you guys didn't reach us yet. I should have asked Jimmy to check on that man. I wasn't careful enough..."

Sky went on with what she shouldn't have done and what she would have done. Sam was pissed off after getting screwed by David for her stupidity.

But after listening to her going on and on with her sorry, he didn't know how to react and was stunned. He glanced at Jai, the latter patted on her shoulders, "Enough."

"I'm sorry for making you and them worry." Sky said to Sam and pointed the other four behind them.

Then she held her ears with both hands and apologized to Jai, "Brother Jai, I'm really sorry." Jai smiled faintly and rubbed her head.

"Ms.Sky, I wish we could strangle you to death." Peter glared at her furiously. Clark sat on a chair next to her bed.

Sky smiled awkwardly, "How about you try after I get well?"

All were speechless after hearing her. Is this a time to joke?

"Sister Sky, How are you?" Clark asked looking at her wrapped leg.

"Clark, I'm good." Sky replied to his question.

"Take care of yourself. If you need anything from us, you can call us anytime." Clark said as he stood up.

Sky smiled faintly and nodded, "Sure."

Sky looked towards Jimmy, "Jimmy, I heard you got shot cause of me, I'm sorry. How is your hand now?"

Jimmy didn't speak but only signaled Ok.

"We will leave then." Clark and others were about to leave but Sky stopped, "Wait, Why are you guys running away? Have supper before you leave."

They didn't agree right away, They looked at each other and glanced at Jai. The latter nodded and then they agreed and settled on the couch.

Sky noticed that they were uncomfortable. She was puzzled looking at their downcast look.

Loran entered the room shortly after with some light food for everyone. Loran fed her and rest had little. The room was completely silent, whenever she asked anything they were answering her.

"Peter, Who were the people attacked the mall?"

Peter hesitated but still didn't talk, Sky cast a glance on Clark who spoke immediately, "Sister Sky, we don't know. Chairman Harley asked another team to investigate."

"Why another team? Aren't you guys always did the work which involved me?" Sky asked.

"We are not allowed to do. Chairman.Harley fi..." Maxwell squeezed Clark's shoulders and stood up, "Thank you for the supper Ms.Sky. Rest early."

As Maxwell moved towards the exit, the other four followed. Sky took a deep breath before speaking, "Stop right there. Come back. You guys will not leave before I say."

Sky who looked weak and pale turned overbearing and ordered them to return inside. Her voice was cold and arrogant which made them halt and turned back.
