Jai knew about every project and every possible way of creating a mess. Even if Arlo really can, she would manage it and makes use of the negative to her advantage.
David started to think about which were the projects they have and what Arlo can do.
Arlo went out of the office and called Ryan as he strode to the kitchen where there were no cameras. Ryan picked up after a few rings. "Hands... Sir, Sky came?"
"No! I want you to buy the Blue Heaven event management by the end of the day by any of our subsidiary companies. Then report to Harley that they can't manage the anniversary due to handover of works. Make sure none of the other event management company to accept this job." He paused for a second.
"Same goes to neighboring cities." Arlo finished instructing and was about to hang up, Ryan asked.
"Did you fall out with them? Why are you doing this? There are only three days left including today. What will she do? This is a very important event for Harley as they didn't celebrate silver..."
Ryan's questions went on and on. Arlo waited patiently for him to finish his questions. Ryan stopped once he felt breathless.
"Seems like you are worried about her. There is nothing like you are thinking. Jai Barton asked Chairman Harley to do. Since this started because of me, I decided to pick on it." Arlo didn't want to get into depth but Ryan was even more confused.
"Then chose some other project. Their construction, fashion or something else. There is already news about the Harley anniversary everywhere. If it's not successful, Harley's reputation will be trashed."
Arlo rubbed his throbbing forehead. Ryan usually carries out work without asking anything. Since it was about Sky, he asked questions back to back.
"She handles all those type problems sitting in the office. So the same thing she will do from home."
Arlo paused for second and continued, "And we need her to return soon. From the looks of it, she is even trying to skip attending anniversary." Except for things related to Sky, he never explained and talked so much about anything else.
"Oh!" Ryan again went into deep thought for a few seconds. "How about I ask our hotel to cancel the bookings?"
Arlo snorted. "Harley estate is larger than our hotel and she has a good relation with Jeff hotelier. So she can easily change the venue. Where is your brain? Just do as I say or else..."
One more reason was he didn't want her to create misunderstanding for Sigma because of Legacy and start to hate it.
Ryan didn't let him finish and agreed right away. "It's just a piece of cake for Sigma."
Ryan hung up after listening to some more instructions from Arlo. The latter went back to work as usual.
-- In the Barton Mansion --
After hanging up the call, Jai sat with others for lunch. After lunch, Sky went back to study for the meeting with the event management company who would be showing the final presentation of their plan.
Andy headed the meeting. Only he and Arlo knew about Sky attending through web call. Andy asked some changes in the plan which were relayed to him by Sky. Meeting went on for two hours before concluding.
End of the day, Two Harley anniversary invites were received in the Barton house. One was for Jai as a brand ambassador, the other one was for the entire Barton family.
Sky checked the cards and was satisfied with the quality which Andy chose. She had just decided on the design and left Andy to do the rest on Friday.
Jai would be attending magazine release and party. Goerge and Georgia preferred to stay at home hence Sky didn't force them. Loran would be going to the capital for his branch work hence he will be attending the party on Sky's cajoling.
Since everything was going as per plan, she didn't worry much and rested early.
The next day, as usual, she started with Jog with Sam and Clark followed by the gym before breakfast. She went through all the mails and finished the morning meeting.
She received a voice call from Andy when she was helping Sam in the kitchen as Georgia had gone out and Jai was practicing. Sky received thinking it may be urgent. "Andy!"
"Ms.Sky! Can you attend the video conference now? It's urgent." Andy was anxious.
Sky didn't probe and agreed. "Right away!"
She knew Andy won't be nervous about small matters and he usually handles efficiently.
Then she turned to Sam, "Sam, Something's up. I have to check it. I will send Clark for your help."
Sam nodded at her. Sky sent Clark to the kitchen who was playing games on the first-floor living area and went to the study room.
She joined the video conference where Andy, David, Arlo, and the other two directors were sitting. She saw distressed faces except for Arlo and David who had no expression as usual.
Directors, Andy and Arlo greeted her. She nodded at them and greeted David, "Chairman Harley."
"Andy! What happened?" Sky asked.
Andy briefed fast, "Blue heaven is acquired by a different company and since they have handover work, they are saying they couldn't take up the job. They even returned amount with a fine."
Sky wasn't surprised. It was common in the business circle. The owners would change and that would delay the work during a small time period. But their timing affected their event was a problem.
"Contact other Event management companies." Sky replied within a second.
Andy didn't reply swiftly, he clicked some buttons on the laptop and then spoke, "I have sent you the mail." Sky opened quickly and continued to hear to him.
"I contacted most of the event management companies. Many are busy on Thursday and can't take up our event. Few are not willing to pick and minor companies don't want to take the risk."
Sky saw the list of companies he had contacted. She saw many companies from neighboring cities on the list. She understood Andy had gone through all the possibilities before contacting her.
