What she told touched his heart and the warm feeling spread inside him as his lips tilted up forming a beautiful arc.
Since all the documents copy were already sent, she just had to sign on a few forms and papers on that day. They left soon to university in the Ivory Mazda MX-5 sports car.
Arlo had asked to double the security on their way and in college. After entering the office, Dean courteously welcomed both and he served them personally confusing Sky.
It was a famous college in that country and students would come from different parts of the world to study there. It had a great reputation and Dean was personally serving them, she felt like Arlo had a good relationship and standing in the college.
Sky nudged Arlo when dean went aside, "Were you a student of the year or first rank student? He is so good for you."
Arlo's eyes contracted for a second before turning normal. "Kind of."
Arlo Smith was written on toppers board, if she sees it, then it would be a problem. So he had to take care of that.
"Oh!" Sky didn't probe much.
Dean asked Sky to go to the next room for signing some paper and one woman escorted her.
"Arlo! Thank you for your funds. We will be starting to restructure the laboratories." He was the same Dean when Arlo studied, hence he greeted the same way.
Arlo gave a faint smile with a nod.
"Is Ms.Harley your girlfriend who you taking personal care?"
Arlo again gave a faint smile as a reply. Dean was already used to it hence he didn't mind.
"Jennifer had left abruptly and you have asked around that time, Did you get in touch with her?"
Arlo who was in distant mode turned cold dropping the room temperature dangerously.
Dean started to wipe his cold sweat and trembled to say, "Let bygones be bygones." He laughed awkwardly but it didn't appease Arlo.
The room remained frosty until Arlo heard heels sound getting near to them.
"Arlo!" Sky called as she went near him.
Hearing her soft voice, his gentle smile appeared and asked, "Done?"
Sky hummed and stood behind him. Dean was baffled. He never saw Arlo's this side from the past ten years from the time he joined the college as a student.
He always kept his distance from everyone except one girl. When that girl left, his cold and indifferent attitude was a headache to all students and professors. He wouldn't even care to respond to anyone who ever tried to speak to him.
Arlo stood up and shook his hand with Dean, "Thank you, Dean. I will bring Sky tomorrow for the exam."
Sky just gave a small nod to the dean and said, "Thank you." before leaving with Arlo.
While going towards the car, Sky noticed a building with attractive architecture. Sky held his arm and pointed at the building, "Arlo! What's that?"
Arlo stopped and looked towards where she pointed, "Library! Want to take a look?"
"That's soo big. Our capital's central library isn't even half of it." Sky said as she pulled him towards the library.
Arlo smiled and let her drag him. On the way, she would point here and there and asked questions. He was patiently answering her and even told her how it used to look when he was studying.
As her questions went on, the topic changed about him, "How many friends did you have? You treat me and others so nicely, you must have numerous friends know?"
'Treat others nicely?' If anybody hears her, they would think her as a fool or mentally retarded.
Arlo replied to the fact, "Nope! I didn't have any such friends. Instead, I knew some seniors well."
"Typical Philomath." Sky shook her head in resignation and entered the library.
Her mouth fell open looking at the complete white interior, six floors of the library in amoeba shape. She could say there were at least a few million to nearly billion books.
Arlo chuckled silently and pushed her chin up. Sky came out of her daze and asked, "Are there all the books available in the world is here?"
Arlo didn't answer her and silently watched her looking all around. If she had to go to the same place for work-related things, she wouldn't even let her eyes open wide and would keep her indifferent attitude all the time.
She would be fully-fledged, level headed President and CEO or else she would behave like a little girl finding every new thing as amazing with her childlike directness.
"Can we go there?" Sky pointed at the top floor.
Arlo's brows twitched, "You are wearing high heels, can you ascend till there?" There was no elevator in the library.
"Oh!" Sky looked at her boots, "I can remove them."
Arlo's lips twitched, "No! we will go to the maximum second floor. We can go around that floor and come down."
Sky pouted and nodded. He just smiled and led her towards the stairs. He had a feeling like he was showing around to a little girl who asked many questions about the place.
Since it was a library, She had to stand closer to him and whisper her questions. He couldn't understand how she could create such a low voice and still say it clearly.
He had to lightly cough every now and then so that he could clear his throat to create a low voice that they shouldn't disturb readers.
Sky didn't realize she was tugging his arms all the time until a man spoke to Arlo.
"Hey, Arlo!"
Sky and Arlo turned towards the source of the voice. Sky saw a man in the late twenties who was clad in a blue suit and reading glasses on.
Arlo's expression stiffened to a faint smile and nodded at him.
"Seems like you have got yourself a little girlfriend." His teasing tone was only audible to them.
Sky furrowed her brows and subconsciously her grip tightened then she realized she was holding his arm all the time. She slowly released and stood silently.
