Arlo sensed her uneasiness and spoke which he usually never cared to respond. "Senior Tom! Seems like you have nothing else to do. She is Sky, my colleague."
Sky who was looking another side didn't bother to look at them and missed the bewildered expression of Senior Tom and teased again, "Why does it didn't look like that?"
Sky looked at Arlo, "Arlo! I will go over there."
She didn't wait for a reply and moved ahead. After reaching a quite distance, she captured a picture of the library and sent it into the group chat of Jai and Loran with a short message, "Brother Jai! I found a perfect place for you."
After seeing her going, Arlo turned cold. But his senior didn't mind him at all.
"I thought you were cold to everyone because of Jenny but it seems like all your gentleness is only for one person. She is cute but why was she behaving like I'm invisible, Am I not handsome? By the way, how can she be your....."
Talkative Senior Tom spoke his mind continuously.
Arlo ignored everything and answered one, "When I'm beside her, do you think you will stand a chance?"
Critical hit!
He was famous in the same college as a most handsome professor but it was also true he was no match for Arlo.
"Do you know how many girls studying here are trying on me?" Senior Tom wasn't ready back off.
"Those are empty-headed girls... Perfect for you!" Arlo said nonchalantly and looked towards Sky.
Senior Tom snorted. "You win! Since you are here, let's hangout in the evening."
"Nope!" Arlo replied instantly. "I will be with her."
Senior Tom was dumbfounded. He moved towards Sky, "I will call her myself."
Arlo furrowed his brows and followed him. Sky was smiling and chatting with Loran and Jai when Senior Tom reached her.
"Hey! Sky." He greeted her but got a nod in reply.
Senior Tom scratched his neck and looked at Arlo. He felt like both were a replica of each other.
Wasn't she smiling just now? Why is she distant now?
"I'm Thomas, Arlo's senior. You can call me Tom." He introduced himself politely.
Since he already knew her name, She just nodded and waited to know why he wanted to talk to her.
Sky mobile beeped and she looked at it. It was from Loran, "Brother Jai forcing me to read it(cry)(cry)(cry)."
Seeing his over-reaction Sky lips tilted up forming a beautiful curve. Her pink cheeks and her crescent eyes while smiling left Thomas stunned.
Sky typed a reply, "Serves you right(tongue out)(tongue out)"
When Arlo noticed Thomas's expression, he dragged him back a step by his collar and left.
"She is so dinky and adorable." Thomas said it off leaving Arlo's face turn a shade darker.
Sensing the change in the air around him, Thomas composed himself before Sky could raise her head.
Sky saw flustered Thomas and serious Arlo, "What's wrong?"
Arlo gave a faint smile to Thomas as a warning and turned to Sky, "Senior Tom is asking for me to hang out. Would you like to come?"
"If you want me to join, I will accompany you." Sky knew he will not leave her in flat alone.
Thomas felt like a third wheel standing next to them. Sky checked the time on her mobile. "Arlo! Can we leave?"
Arlo nodded, "Senior Tom! I will let you know." Both left the library leaving Thomas to smile awkwardly.
On the way, Sky asked to stop at the cake shop and bought a pineapple cake. She asked Arlo to drive to the flat.
Arlo was puzzled but he still drove back to the flat. After going inside her room, Sky opened her laptop and video called.
She brought the laptop out on the dining table and opened the cake box before knocking on Arlo's room door. She dragged him to the dining table when he opened the door, made him face cake and laptop. Olivia and Ryan were on the video call.
The clock struck twelve in country A, Olivia and Ryan wished him.
"Handsome Demon! I wish you get everything you love. Happy birthday."
"I wish you get the best in everything. Happy birthday my grandson."
Sky knew about his birthday by Olivia and she tried to postpone their trip to Country U but Arlo insisted on those days after knowing her schedule. So she had to help them celebrate through the video call.
Sky passed the cake cutting knife to him and sang the birthday song with the other two. Sky took the piece cake and told to Olvia and Ryan, "On behalf of you guys."
Then she fed cake to the expressionless Arlo. Sky turned back to the laptop, "Anything else? hmmm... Do you guys put whipped cream on the face?"
A sly glint flashed across Ryan's eyes and stopped Olivia from saying, "Yes! Yes! A lot."
"Oh!" Sky wasn't a fan of putting whipping creams on the face but she had seen many doing it hence she asked generally but got yes as an answer.
She took a little and brushed her finger on Arlo's nose and turned back to the laptop. "That's enough. You guys talk." Sky said and went towards the kitchen to wash her hands.
Arlo's eyes followed her all the time. When they left college, Sky hardly spoke and just used her mobile which she hardly does. Thinking she must have felt bad hearing Thomas, he didn't probe. But seeing her enter the room with the cake, he disappointedly went to his room.
He was puzzled when she dragged him to the dining table. He even started to think he must have angered her. Seeing the cake and video call, he understood, whom she was busy with on her phone.
He was still in a daze until she fed him a cake. He was thinking whether he should give her the cake, she raised her hand and applied the cream on the nose which he hated on his face. But he didn't get angry when she did.
Diverting his eyes on two-person who were chuckling, his lips tilted up. "Enough you two! Go to sleep."
Instead of saying anything, both surprised Arlo by saying bye and hung up the call.
'What are you guys thinking?' He thought to himself as he knew they won't be thinking anything good.
