Chapter 462 - Leave the room

Sam and Arlo were dumbstruck. The former held her arms turning to him, "Didn't you see papers before signing?"

Sky promptly shook her head.

Arlo remembered while she was signing, her eyes were on him as she spoke to him and she didn't even check the certificates.

Sky, not knowing he was President Smith would be easier for him to coax her. If she gets to know, he was sure she won't let him stay by her side.

Even though he was happy he didn't show it on his face, "Are you planning to change your surname?"

Sky's lips twitched, " IN. YOUR. DREAMS. "

She turned around and went towards the car. Sam shook his head resignedly, " YOU TWO have the lowest EQ."

He said and caught up to her. "Sky!"

Sky behaved normally with Sam and hummed in response without any cold or aloof attitude.

"Why did you marry him?" Sam asked after sitting in the car.

Sky turned to Sam, "Didn't I tell you? Because of his grandmother. It was her wish."

Sam drove the car out as he asked, "Are you sure you agreed to marry just because it was his grandmother's wish?"

Sky glanced at him as she continued to type on her laptop keyboard, "Also because to payback. He saved me in the country U. Brother Jai said he helped us when I was attacked and admitted hospital the second time. Hmmm... because grandmother treated me well. Hmmm..." She stopped saying.

Sam furrowed his brows. He waited for a few more seconds if she continues but she didn't. "Are you sure that's the reason you agreed?"

Sky fingers paused for brief movement before continuing. She didn't reply to him because those were the reasons she gave to herself for signing the papers and getting those marriage certificates which currently held no value for her.

Sam looked at her in pity and drove to the Harley corporation.

Since Arlo wasn't there, all his work went to Andy increasing his workload. Sky attended the meeting after meeting and cleared one after the other file.

Sky had skipped her meals to complete the works. She got a call from Arlo in the afternoon but she ignored and continued to work. After some time, Sky received a call again and it was from Ryan's number.

She received it and Ryan's voice sounded on another end, "Ms.Sky! Grandmother is in good condition after the operation. She is asleep now."

Sky hummed, "Thank you!" She then hung up before going back to work.

In the hospital

Ryan lowered his mobile from the ear and saw Arlo walking away knowing she purposefully didn't receive his call. Even though he felt bad for Arlo, another part of him said, 'You are paying for your deeds.'

Ryan had shifted all his works to the hospital and he worked whenever Olivia was sleeping and would talk to her whenever she was awake.

Arlo stayed by Olivia all the time. Whenever Ryan would give him some files, he was signing it.

Sky visited Olivia on alternate days of the week. She would still talk to Olivia and Ray as she used to but she ignored Arlo completely. She would only answer him with hum or silence if he was asking anything in front of Olivia.

A week passed and Sky visited Olivia with David on the weekend when he returned to the capital. He was over the moon as Olivia and they chatted happily.

Sky purposefully brought her laptop knowing David and Olivia would take a long time talking. She initially worked in Olivia's room, when her laptop battery ran down, she excused herself and went to next to the room to plug in and work.

Ray visited her and casually asked about the Harley resort as it was opened from three days for the public. "Ms.Sky, your plan of sending your brand ambassadors there is commendable. Due to their reviews and pictures, Harley resort is the talk of the country."

Sky hummed, "Those ambassadors trying to suck up to us. Simple."

"What?" Ryan was confused. After knowing what she meant he asked to confirm, "Didn't you send them there and asked for review?"

Sky finished replying to an email and looked at him, "Nope! I just gave them early access to booking. They paid and went there. It was their wish to review."

Ryan looked at her in shock. He knew how people suck up to them but he would also pay them or arrange them people to help them write a positive review.

"Ms.Sky! You are very daring." He gave thumbs up.

Sky smirked, "Isn't it obvious that I dared to marry also?"

Ryan knew she wasn't praising herself. Instead, she was mocking herself. He didn't know what else to say about it. After some time, he changed the topic to the new year, "What's your plan for the new year?"

Sky typed as she replied, "Vacationing with My family."

Ryan knew her My didn't include Arlo or himself or Olivia yet. He pursed his lips and stopped talking.

Sky successfully convinced Jai, David, and Sam for her trip to country Y and the latter would join her. So she would be vacationing first two weeks of the new year.

Hence she was trying her best not to leave any work left before leaving. The first week she would be on an island and there she would get an internet facility but she wasn't sure in the second week hence no office work could be done.

After some time, Arlo entered their room and kept a warm milk cup next to her laptop as he knew she wouldn't take it if he tries to give it to her hands.

Sky saw it, she didn't raise her head. She picked her wallet, removed some cash and kept on the table, "Thank you!"

Seeing the intense atmosphere, Ryan slid off the door silently. Sky continued to tap on the keys but she didn't notice her fingers were moving faster than usual.

She just had one thing in mind, 'Leave the room! leave the room.'

She didn't know whether she was not ready to face him or she would get angry with him for not understanding what was going on in her life.
