Knowing everything was ready, Sky asked directly, "Where do I have to sign?"
Arlo furrowed his brows and tried to pull her aside but the latter didn't even let him touch and took steps aside. "Yes?"
"You don't have to force yourself because of me!" Arlo said sincerely.
Sky kept her aloof attitude, "Let me give you a reality check. I am not doing this for you."
Arlo felt like he didn't know her at all, He never saw this side behavior with him. "You don't have to do... it for my grandmother either."
Sky bit her lip and looked at his expressionless face which irritated her even more. Her mobile started ringing, Sky ignored him talking and looked at the caller's name.
She went aside as she received it and spoke normally as she talks to brother, "Brother Joe?"
"Hey, little sister! You wanted to come with me to wild if we had a week trip, remember?" Joe came straight to point.
Sky hummed. Joe continued, "I have a project in the country Y in the second week of next month. Want to join?"
A bright smile appeared on her face and excitedly asked, "Really? That's great. Brother Joe, I have to ask Brother Jai and Dad first then I will confirm you... Oh! Can I bring Sam with me?"
"Sure little sister! You must be in the office, I will call you later."
Knowing he was going to hang up Sky stopped, "Brother Joe!"
Even though Sky behaved like she ignored Arlo, she completely heard him. She kept her eyes on Arlo who was looking at her and asked Joe, "Brother Joe! If you don't know what to do amid the dense forest without any path, what will you do?"
Joe was silent for a few seconds and replied, "I will get lost! Little sister, The correct path can be found only after you get lost. The main thing is not to refuse."
Sky analyzed and asked again, "What if path turned out to be the wrong one?"
Sky didn't know why her heartbeat was raising. Was it looking at Arlo? or to listen to answer?
Joe replied instantly, "Sometimes a wrong path leads us to a beautiful destination which we will never get on the correct path... ... Little sister, Why are you asking all these? What happened?" Joe asked concernedly. He knew she was relating something to his work.
"Brother Joe, I will tell you some other day. Take care." Sky said and hung up after hearing a response.
Arlo who saw her being distant to him instantly brighten up talking on mobile. He was in a dilemma. He wanted to marry and he also wanted to back out. Seeing her looking at him, he tried to make eye contact but he felt guilty.
After deciding, Sky went near the officer and asked the same question again, "Where do I have to sign?"
He pointed at where she had to sign, Sky took the pen from him to sign but her eyes were on Arlo as she spoke. "From now on! I or any of my family member owes you nothing. NOTHING. "
By the end she finished signing and was walking towards the exit, the officer remained her to take a picture for the certificate. Sky furrowed her brows and turned around. He pointed at the camera setup area.
Seeing her going towards it, Arlo signed and went next to her. Arlo had light bags but he still looked captivating with his weak smile. Sky stood there with her aloof face.
The cameraman shouted at them to smile multiple times. Both were remained numb for a few times until Sky ordered, " SHUT. UP. "
Her voice was piercingly cold. Arlo glanced at her and remained silent. The cameraman didn't utter a word and took a picture.
Sky strode towards the exit but the officer spoke again, "Miss! Your certificate."
"Give it to him!" Sky replied nonchalantly.
Everyone in the office was stunned to know how can a girl treat President Smith so badly and he still didn't flare at her and remained passive all the time.
Arlo called, "Sky!"
She paused but didn't turn around. Her each and every action at him pricked his heart. Arlo managed to say clearing his lump in the throat. "Meet grandmother before you leave."
His voice wasn't arrogant or cold. It was a request. Everybody in the office was stunned because that wasn't they heard about President Smith.
Sky clenched her first and stood rooted. 'For grandmother.' she consoled herself.
She took a few deep breathes before going out. Jimmy and Maxwell were looking at her in shock. Sam approached her and wished to test the waters, "Congratulations!"
Sky ignored his wish, "Sigma hospital." then she sat in the car.
From the beginning, Sam felt something amiss and it got stronger as time passed. He looked at the entrance where Arlo was coming out with two certificates. He contemplated and extended his hand to give him Sky's car key fob.
Arlo nodded at him as he took the fob and sat on the driver seat. Sky who was back to her work turned to the driver seat and frowned after seeing Arlo when the car started.
Arlo noticed it but didn't react. He thought to coax her after Olivia's health stabilizes. Soon they reached the hospital. Sam remained at reception to call Jai as Sky and Arlo went to meet Olivia.
Olivia was on cloud nine seeing marriage certificates in Arlo's hands. "Grandmother! Your wish is fulfilled. Now be optimistic about the operation. Will you?"
Olivia laughed and stretched her arms at two. She hugged both as she said, "Of course! I will. I will live for many more years for you two."
Sky managed to give a weak smile, "Grandmother do well. I will come and meet some other time. I will go to the office now."
Olivia patted on her hands and looked at Arlo, "See her off!"
Sky left the room as Arlo followed her. Sky spotted Ryan. He was in Ray disguise. "Mr.Ray! Please let me know about the grandmother's condition after operation."
Ryan looked at Arlo before nodding at her, "Sure!"
"Thank you!" Sky said and left without giving any emotions.
Arlo trailed behind. Near the exit, Sky stopped and turned back to Arlo. "What is your surname?"
She always saw S in the surname of Arlo.
