'Why?' Sky asked herself before replying.
"Because I don't know why you like me. If you like me for the kind and meek girl who you met in the mall, you may already know I'm not that kind and meek in other things. If you think I was an angel at one time, I will be a devil for another thing. So If I flare you up, I can know the reason easily as you will speak straight without thinking."
Seeing her seriously explaining it, he pinched her both cheeks before answering. "There is no such reason."
He ignited the engine and drove as he explained in his magnetic and gentle voice. "There shouldn't be any reason. When you love someone for a reason, when that reason is gone, your heart will change too. I like you without a reason. I like you because you are YOU."
Sky slightly nodded and looked towards the window.
'Sh*t! Didn't I already know he likes me? Why the hell are you beating fast now?' Sky chided herself as she bit her lip.
Arlo saw her becoming silent and looking outside. He was alarmed. "Sky! You are not letting your mind wander. Are you? Don't roast your brain and speak to me, alright?"
Sky chuckled hearing his anxious tone. "Don't worry."
"By the way, your confession was more realistic and passionate than what your senior Tom said on behalf of you." Sky said as she saw Arlo's ear turning pink.
She smiled to herself and stopped questioning and teasing.
He only said it so that she could understand and stop thinking too much. When she mentioned confession then he realized what he said sounded romantic.
When they were having dinner in the Cox family, Sam casually commented, "Seems like your secretary solved your misunderstanding."
"Huh?" Sky didn't know what he meant until she saw his smile. Arlo ignored him.
"You..." Arlo stuffed a meat slice in her mouth.
Daniel and his wife were confused. Sam chuckled and finished it for her, "Yes! I knew about it."
Sky had spoken to Jai and the latter had teased her for a long time before letting her off. Other than him, Sky knew she had spoken about Arlo and Ryan with Sam. So she wanted to clarify.
But one stuffed her mouth with food and the other one understood what she wanted to ask.
"Sky! What are you guys talking about?" Daniel asked curiously. He knew Sam and Sky always half talked and understood the rest of the things. So he had asked to rest his curiosity.
Sky was thinking what to say, Arlo responded thinking she was the worst liar, "Office related!"
Sky tried to control her laughter but hearing Sam dragging each word "Oh! Office-related" she let out a laugh.
Sky saw dark-faced Arlo and diverted to the wrong topic, "Brother Dan! Did you know I gave a proposal to Sam?"
Arlo wasn't sure what kind of proposal she was talking about, Daniel also didn't know. Sam rolled his eyes.
"What kind of Proposal? He didn't tell me." Daniel glanced at Sam and responded.
Sky looked at Sam who looked as if he didn't give damn about anything but suddenly he scorned, "Are you trying to throw me off since you got a husband?"
"Sam!" Sky scowled.
It wasn't his sarcastic remark which Sky would always return it as a joke. It was an annoyed tone which meant 'are you leaving since you got a new one?'
She turned to Mia and asked in a low voice, "Are you done?" Mia nodded.
"Brother Dan! Thank you for the meal. We will leave." Sky finished saying and carried Mia out as she cued a servant to carry Mia's bags.
Arlo nodded at Daniel before leaving the table. Sam left the table after that.
Sky's mood was sour. Arlo and Mia stayed quiet in their journey towards the Harley mansion. Even though Arlo didn't know what was her proposal and why Sam reacted like that. He was sure why Sky got angry.
He was thinking whether to interfere between them or not, a bike stopped in front of their car. All three identified him but only Mia reacted.
Arlo didn't expect Sam to placate Sky so soon. Sky remained seated as if she didn't see him or didn't hear a knock on her side window shield.
Sam opened the door unlocking it with his tab. "Mia! Be with your Handsome Arlo, I have to talk to Sky."
Mia obediently went to Arlo but Sky didn't budge. Sam pulled her out easily and closed the door. Sky looked at him without saying anything.
Seeing her aloof state, Sam apologized immediately, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said it."
Sky bit her lip but didn't respond and waited for him to continue.
"You always asked me if anything related to computer or internet. When you faced web traffic issues, instead of asking my help, you preferred Arlo. So... I was angry."
Sky was shocked and surprised but she prioritized his anger first "I wanted to call you! But that idiot only sat and solved. I didn't even know he could work on it. And I had given a security solution company proposal a long back even before I married him. He doesn't exist between us. You two are discrete entities. And which idiot said I will let you live freely just because he came out of nowhere?"
Her reaction was like an emotional rollercoaster. Justifying to unpredictable. Anger to calming and ended with a funny line.
"Only you can say such a line." Sam chuckled hearing 'which idiot said I will let you live freely' .
Sky punched him, "That's not the point."
"Okay, Okay! I was wrong."
Sky hummed. Sam continued, "I am not interested to run company."
"No problem. I just offered. Even if you agree, I would still continue to irritate you as I do now." Sky offered knowing he was talented that doesn't mean it would affect their relationship.
Sam pinched her cheeks, "It's cold outside. Go home."
Sky hummed as she punched him and hugged, "Speak to me next time if anything as such".
Sam rubbed her head and hummed.
She sat in and spoke after rolling down the window, "Samuel Cox! I didn't know you were such a petty man. Where did you throw your brain for long? Thankfully you found it."
