It's so awkward, we can't seem to do it better
Can't we just fake a smile, put our shit to the side?
We don't need to be best friends
We don't need to hang again
But tell me why we have to be strangers?
'Cause I loved you once
We don't need to act the same
But you act like you don't know my name
Tell me why we have to be strangers?
'Cause I loved you once
What would you say if I...
If I come over
And stand face to face now...
Now that we're older
.
.
Thinking after all this time
I just wanna meet your eyes
So I can remember why
Why I loved you once
Thinking after all this time
We should leave it all behind
So I can remember why
Why I loved you once
We don't need to be best friends
We don't need to hang again
Tell me why we have to be strangers?
'Cause I loved you once"
When she finished, she bit her lip and sniffed hard as she went and sat on her chair. All were completely silent until she sat down.
"Sky! I didn't know you can sing so well." Sam commented first.
Ethan followed, "I connected to the song just by your voice."
Half sober Peter looked at her, "Ms.Sky, Why didn't you tell me you were the singer?"
One by one started speaking but Sky was feeling suffocated. She managed to give a faint smile to everyone before excusing herself and left with her jacket.
Seeing her take Jacket, Sam furrowed his brows and was about to follow, Arlo stopped him, "I will go."
Sam nodded and let him go.
Arlo who came out didn't see her in the corridor. He went near the elevator and asked his guard and got to know Sky went to the terrace.
He went there and saw Sky standing alone as the wind blew her hair. She was looking up as she breathed heavily. She had left her jacket on the bench and stood in her sleeveless dress.
He removed his jacket as he went towards her. Hearing the footsteps, Sky breathed slowly through her mouth and composed herself. Arlo went around and stood right in front of her as he covered her with his jacket silently. Sky knew it was Arlo so she didn't raise her head.
She thought he would leave but he took a step ahead and wounded his hand around her shoulder and another hand pressed her head on his firm warm chest. Sky didn't push him and didn't even hug him back. She heard him apologize, "Sky! I'm sorry!"
'Ninty-nine' Sky remembered how many times he apologized to her in thirty-four days.
She had controlled herself well till he came but hearing him she couldn't stop her tears from flowing. His white shirt got wet soon making him wound his hand tighter. Sky who didn't make sound started sobbing.
When she closed eyes, she remembered how he hurt her, she trembled. She pushed him away and ran down as she took her jacket. His jacket fell on the floor when she ran.
Holding in the piercing pain he felt, he went behind her not knowing where she may go. Sky was taking stairs down as she wiped her tears.
Instead of going inside their private room, she went down. Sky exited the restaurant and went towards her car. But a car suddenly rushed towards her at high speed. She thought she almost dodged but somebody pushed her front and she fell on the grass ground away from the road.
She heard a loud crash and a few shrieks in fear. She was shivering tremendously even to turn around and see. She heard a known worried voice call her, "Sky!"
She was in shock and hearing the known voice at that movement, she jerked up. Sky turned immediately with her anxious voice calling, "Arlo!".
She saw him walking and his background was the same black car crashed to the restaurant pillar outside but her eyes fell on his leg realizing that he was limping. Before he could reach her, she felt lightheadedness and fainted.
Despite the pain in his leg, Arlo moved faster and held her before she hit the ground. "Sky... Sky... Sky..."
Arlo's men immediately took both to the nearest City hospital but Sky woke up soon hearing her name repeatedly.
Her head was on Arlo's lap and she could feel him shiver, she spoke, "Arlo!... Your leg!... Your leg is hurt. I... I saw the blood."
Arlo had already checked her hence he knew she wasn't hurt but he asked for confirming, "Are you hurt anywhere?"
Sky shook her head and got up to see his leg, but Arlo closed her eyes before she could see and hugged her tight, "I'm fine! I'm fine."
His voice was soothing which made Sky think he was fine.
She couldn't get to ask anything, as they reached the hospital. Arlo ordered the doctors to check on Sky despite she said 'I'm totally fine, You get treated.'
"Okay okay! I will get checked. You too! Please go." Sky said as she let a doctor take her.
Soon other six reached the hospital and paced outside where Sky was getting her basic tests done and answered a few doctor's questions. Sam entered after speaking to the doctor and saw her intact.
"She is fine. Vasovagal syncope episode after seeing blood and accident scene."
The doctor told to Sam. The latter sighed a breath of relief and brought her out. Sam had already retrieved security footage hence he and others knew what happened.
"Arlo?" Sky asked as she went towards other wards.
"He is getting treated." Sam dragged her back and made her sit.
Seeing her tap her foot continuously, Sam reassured, "He is fine! He probably got a cut and may affect little on the bone which will be recovered soon. It's not serious. He had flipped and saved himself after pushing you."
Sky held her head, "Why do I attract problems all the time? I had seen the path before crossing. There was no car, I don't know why it suddenly rushed towards us. Who speeds inside Restaurant premises?"
Sam pondered for a few seconds, "You were the target."
