Chapter 540 - Where did that come from?

Sam continued when Sky turned to him, "It was an actress who was under Bling entertainment. She was in love with Milan Bing. She is no more. Spot death."

Sky froze. She slowly sat back analyzing the situation. She had run to dodge but she still felt the car coming towards her.

Sam patted her hands and thought Sky might blame herself, "You..."

"Was she an idiot? He is paying for his mistake. Why was she behind me? She screwed up her own life." Sky said as she rubbed her forehead.

She wasn't Mary sue to pity her and blame herself for the person who tried to kill her with absurd reason. If that actress was alive, Sky would have made sure she would pay for hurting Arlo.

Or the latter would have cleaned up knowing she tried to kill his wife.

Ryan who had blocked the entire floor and called doctors for Arlo reached them. He checked on Sky and sighed. "You scared us."

"I'm sorry!" Sky finished and got flicked on her head. "It wasn't your mistake."

All waited for an hour and a half for Arlo's treatment. He had got a small crack on his right leg bone and muscle cut due to fall which caused the heavy blood flow. Since the crack was small, the synthetic cast was used to keep his injured bone in its place while it heals.

Before he could wake up, Ryan moved him to Sigma Hospital from the City hospital. All the others followed them. Since it was the best hospital in the Capital and country A, Sky didn't say anything.

On the way, Sky reported both David and Olivia. Sky had finished talking with the Barton family when the nurse called Sky inside saying Arlo was calling her.

Sky went straight to Arlo who was leaning on the headrest looking at her.

'Pak'

Others who followed her and were shocked to see Sky slapping Arlo.

Ryan thought she would scold. Others thought she would worry and start crying but seeing Arlo look at her in surprise after the slap, they went out silently.

"Only Sky can make him smile even after getting slapped by her." Ryan settled himself on the chair after closing the door.

"I didn't know Ms. Sky's brain wiring is heavily crossed." said Peter who was back on senses.

Sam played with his phone and others were still in shock but they couldn't hear anything as the room was soundproof.

Inside the room, Arlo wanted to ask her how she was but after receiving a slap, he wasn't sure how to react. Since Sky didn't use her full strength, his cheek was only red.

"Do you think yourself as a hero or superhero that you fly and save the damsel in distress? Arlo! This is not a movie. It's real life. What were you thinking when you jumped? You were lucky that nothing happened. What do you expect me to tell grandmother? That you flew to save me and putting yourself in danger?...."

Sky continued for two more minutes before stopping. Arlo wasn't even the least bit angry. He heard her as he looked at her who wasn't only looking at him but also maintained eye contact and spoke so much.

When she stopped, Arlo spoke, "If I knew you would talk to me if I break some bones, I would have broken it a long time back."

Sky's lips twitched. She gritted her teeth before saying, "How about you throw yourself under the bus so that I talk to you sweetly in the next life?"

Arlo's lips tilted up before saying, "Let us live this life first."

Sky rolled her eyes and turned to leave but Arlo held her hand, "Are you fine?"

'If I wasn't fine, will I be standing here?'

"No! My head will blast anytime soon. You just worry about yourself now." Sky pulled her hand out and went outside still fuming.

Ryan went inside and saw Arlo smiling to himself.

Peter stood up and asked, "Ms.Sky, Shall I call a doctor to check on his wounds? You must have made him red and blue."

Sky cracked her knuckles as she spoke, "Since you are drunk, I think I can take you down easily. Shall I try?"

Peter snuck in with others not daring to stand alone in front of her. It's just his left-hand play to bring her down but he couldn't hit back nor defend himself in front of Sky.

Sam passed her water, "Why are you angry?"

Sky took a sip before replying, "He may think of himself as a superhero again. I had to remind him he is a human being."

Sam shook his head resignedly, "Sky!"

Sky looked at him and he continued, "You can say you love him in many other ways than beating him."

Sam left hearing Sky, "Where did that come from?"

'I'm angry. Angry. okay!' Sky thought to herself breathed a sigh of relief.

After seeing the surveillance camera video footage, her heart was in her mouth. Luckily he was agile and he used his hands to flip back when the car hit his leg or else consequences could be unimaginable. Even thinking about it, she shivered.

Sky sent five to home for resting but Sky didn't know they left because nobody could enter the last three floors in the hospital and she was safe.

Sky tried to convince Ryan to leave but he stayed with her. Ryan wasn't ready to rest in the different room hence he slept on the couch. Sky was ready to sit and sleep but she received a message.

"If you aren't sleeping properly, I will have to carry you to bed."

'Give him a finger and he will seize a hand.' Sky gritted her teeth.

Arlo saw her not coming and typed one more message, "Fine! I'm getting up."

Doctors had told him not to move around without support and he shouldn't leave the weight on the right leg. Sky wouldn't let him walk hence he dared to text her like that.

After seeing the message, Sky went and slept on another end of the double-sized bed facing her back to him. Since she was tired mentally and physically exhausted, she dozed off soon.

Seeing her sleep on the very edge of the bed, he tried to pull her a little but Sky flipped and slept on his hand which he tried to adjust her on the bed.

His heart skipped a beat. He felt like a decade had passed that they were together. With little more pull towards him, Sky slept in his arms without waking up.

He didn't hug her thinking she might wake up and he slept peacefully.
