466. Stormfront’s Attack!!

466. Stormfront’s Attack!!

Red light flashed!

The urgent alarm echoed throughout the entire Sage Grove Center.

Countless staff members and researchers dressed in white lab coats ran out in a hurry. They didn't know what had happened, but they understood the meaning behind this alarm.

Those who were assigned here by Vought were mostly professors at the forefront of biological sciences, with outstanding achievements. They knew their tasks and understood what was contained within the facility.

This alarm was no ordinary one—it was a warning of containment failure.

Who knew how those beings managed to break free, but now wasn't the time to think about that. Everyone working here knew how dangerous the supers held in the cells could be.

These people had been torturing them every day—drawing blood, administering drugs, and conducting various experiments. And now, those who had been held captive in the cells had escaped. The researchers knew without thinking what these supers were likely to do to them.

A few guards, armed with guns, hurried to the cells to control the supers. But as they passed a corner, they saw a bald woman glaring at them.

"Oh, fuck!" The lead guard's face changed. "Cindy, Cindy, calm down!"

However, his words didn't get through to her. The woman, named Cindy, blinked and raised her hand.

"Don't, don't!"

Seeing her movements, the guard had no choice but to raise his gun.

But before he could pull the trigger, Cindy clenched her fist. In an instant, the guards in front of her exploded into a bloody mist, splattering the walls.

Meanwhile, a professor was running in panic. He had even lost one of his shoes but didn't dare stop because he knew what kind of sinister being was behind him.

As he ran frantically, a humanoid figure suddenly swooped down from above, flying toward him.

At first, the narrow corridor restricted the flying ability, causing the figure to collide with the walls. But after adjusting, the super quickly picked up speed.

"Please, please don't kill me! I bought you fruit, don't you remember!?" the professor shouted, running while crying.

"Yeah..." The super gritted his teeth, tears streaming down his face—whether from the wind or emotion, it wasn't clear.

"I forgot to tell you, I hate fruit."

With that, like a predator chasing its prey, the super grabbed the professor and accelerated forward.

"No!" The professor was suddenly lifted into the air, struggling violently.

But his resistance didn't last long. After a violent burst of speed, the super hurled him toward the wall at the end of the hallway.

Thud!

The white wall was instantly covered in crimson human remains. The professor didn't even have time to scream, turning into a pile of flesh smeared across the wall.

Scenes like this were unfolding in every corner of the Sage Grove Center, with the crazed supers wreaking havoc. The ordinary people working here were now nothing more than lambs to the slaughter.

A few researchers near the main gate quickly rushed there, hoping they could finally escape. But to their surprise, the gate was locked.

Not only the gate, but all the doors and windows were also sealed shut. Unless one had great strength, no one here could escape.

"Stormfront's here!" The Lamplighter gazed at the woman on the monitor, his fists clenched.

"It's your time to perform, Lamplighter. Don't disappoint me," Alex said as he turned and patted the Lamplighter's shoulder softly.

At Alex's words, the Lamplighter took a few deep breaths. Although Alex had enhanced his abilities, the fear of Stormfront still lingered.

Unlike others, the Lamplighter had truly witnessed the terrifying power of Stormfront. That feeling was perhaps even stronger than Queen Maeve's, and it could rival the Homelander.

For someone with that level of power, the Lamplighter used to be too afraid to even breathe in their presence. Now, he had to go and kill her, which made his heart race.

Leaving the control room, the Lamplighter quickly made his way toward the main gate. Along the way, he saw all kinds of bodies and human remains scattered around, blood flowing into small rivers that merged with the drains.

Not long after, he heard Stormfront's voice.

"Lamplighter! Where are you!?"

The Lamplighter closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

He understood that as the highest-ranking guard in the asylum, with such a big incident occurring, Stormfront would definitely come after him first.

Slowly exhaling, the Lamplighter opened his eyes again.

"I'm here."

As he spoke, the Lamplighter took a step forward, heading in the direction of Stormfront.

Stormfront, watching the Lamplighter emerge from the ruins, had a grim look on her face. She squinted her eyes and spoke flatly.

"Tell me, why are there a bunch of test subjects running around outside? I've already killed three just by walking in here. What happened?"

The Lamplighter felt his throat dry up as he hesitated. He then replied.

"Dr. Carlton made a mistake with the dosage of isopropofol again. That's how Cindy escaped, and she released the other supers."

Listening to the Lamplighter's explanation, Stormfront pressed her fingers to her forehead.

"And where's Dr. Carlton?"

"He's in the lab... and the hallway," the Lamplighter swallowed nervously. "Also... some of him is on the walls."

Stormfront studied the Lamplighter carefully, a complex expression appearing on her face.

Looking at the state of the place and the brutally slaughtered researchers, she suddenly showed a cold smile. She stared at the Lamplighter and sighed.

"Do you think I'm stupid?"

The Lamplighter's heart skipped a beat.

Seeing a flash of electricity from Stormfront's fingers, the Lamplighter immediately raised both hands. Two fire dragons erupted from his palms, shooting toward Stormfront.
