467. Storm and Tempest.
In the corridor, Lamplighter extended his hands, no longer needing a lighter. At this point, he could release flames at will.
Feeling the intense heat rising from within his body, Lamplighter concentrated it into his hands and released it in a sudden burst.
Boom!
The teal flames surged, instantly engulfing the entire corridor. The powerful blaze even caused the surrounding walls and floor to crack and collapse.
The charred remains of bodies and severed limbs on the floor were scorched further, releasing a pungent smell.
As the target of Lamplighter's attack, Stormfront reacted swiftly. She had already sensed something was wrong, but she hadn't made up her mind yet, so she decided to test Lamplighter.
Unexpectedly, Lamplighter directly attacked her. Stormfront immediately began her counterattack, her hands crackling with lightning, preventing the flames from advancing even an inch.
But Stormfront also knew she couldn't maintain this indefinitely. With the intensity of the flames, she wouldn't last long. If this continued, she'd be roasted alive.
With this thought in mind, Stormfront steeled herself. She spread her hands, and purple lightning instantly tore through the flames, splitting them in half. The lightning serpents raged through the area, turning the already crumbling walls into rubble.
Seizing the opportunity, Stormfront took a step and charged directly at Lamplighter.
Lamplighter's face changed when he saw Stormfront getting closer. He didn't dare be careless and immediately threw a series of fiery punches toward her.
Bang! Bang! Crack!
Stormfront broke through the flames, half of her hair singed, but she had no time to worry about that. All she cared about was quickly eliminating this damned traitor.
In the blink of an eye, the two exchanged over a dozen blows. Stormfront found the perfect opportunity, landing a punch to Lamplighter's abdomen, then performing a shoulder throw that sent him flying.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"I thought I was the only one who kept their strength, Lamplighter. I've underestimated you all these years. I didn't realize you had such terrifying combat power."
Rubbing her wrist, Stormfront looked at the burn on her skin, her eyes filled with madness.
"Damn it. I knew Canadians can't be trusted. I don't know why you're doing this, but don't worry. I have plenty of time to make you talk."
With a heavy thud, Lamplighter hit the ground, coughing up blood. He realized that although his body had been enhanced to withstand bullets or armor-piercing rounds, he still couldn't compete with Stormfront's superhuman strength.
However, he was still amazed. Based on his previous combat abilities, Stormfront's earlier attack should have pierced straight through his abdomen.
Struggling to rise, Lamplighter wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and smiled.
"You'll die here today. Who will be the one to pry open my mouth then?"
Stormfront's face froze, a hint of shock in her brows.
She never expected Lamplighter's power to be this horrifying. She had thought it was ridiculous enough that he could start fires without a lighter, but now he had turned himself into living flame. How was she supposed to fight this?
If it had been before, Stormfront could rely on close combat to limit and subdue him. Though there was a chance of getting burned, she could endure it as long as she could control Lamplighter.
But now, with flames covering his entire body, her biggest advantage was gone. Stormfront wasn't surprised that if she engaged him in close combat, she would be burned to a crisp before even landing a blow.
She couldn't guarantee whether her purple lightning or his teal flames were stronger, and at that moment, Stormfront began to feel like retreating.
Crossing her arms, she gathered all her energy and suddenly released it forward. In an instant, purple lightning surged wildly, engulfing everything in front of her.
The entire corridor trembled, and everything around her shattered under the intense thunder.
After making this attack, Stormfront didn't hesitate. She turned and smashed through the wall, leaping into the air, flying toward the horizon.
Now that she had learned of Lamplighter's power, Stormfront just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. She admitted she had underestimated him or perhaps overestimated her own strength, which had led to her being caught off guard.
If she had brought the Seven with her, Stormfront didn't believe Lamplighter would have posed any serious threat.
With that thought, Stormfront accelerated, eager to find backup to deal with Lamplighter.
As she was moving at full speed, a man suddenly appeared in the sky ahead.
"What the fuck?!"
Stormfront furrowed her brow, unable to process what was happening.
Looking closely, she saw the man floating midair. When she noticed him, he also turned his gaze toward her. What startled Stormfront was that his eyes were completely white!
The next moment, the sky above her changed suddenly. Thick black clouds gathered rapidly.
"Damn it!"
Stormfront's heart raced, but before she could react, a bolt of lightning, as thick as a barrel, ripped through the dark clouds, consuming her whole.
The thunder, like divine punishment, illuminated the ground as Stormfront, engulfed by the terrifying strike, plummeted toward the earth, her body trailing black smoke.
