“Ginjiro-san, can I have some extra ice and that thing you put on the vegetables?”
The old lady and Milia at the vegetable stall have been working at full capacity since this morning, thanks to a customer who bought yesterday’s vegetables who became a repeat customer and brought more customers by word of mouth.
The old lady, who has a strong business spirit, is also selling a lot of cold watermelon.
Well, cold watermelon is a must in this heat.
In addition to regular watermelons, she also brought yellow watermelons.
Apparently, yellow watermelons are sweeter and more expensive.
Edel, the fruit stall, is doing great today as well.
As for the apples and pears, one customer eats several of them, so the cooling process cannot keep up with them.
The expensive mangoes were so popular with the cathedral people that they bought all of them.
Pineapple tasting sales attract many customers because the idea of tasting is rare in this world.
Edel told me that customers who calmly listen to the explanation in the back are more likely to buy than those in the front row.
Once we get enough customers, we can sell a lot, so we also offer apples and pears for tasting, and there are always crowds of people.
As for the shaved ice, sales are improving compared to yesterday.
However, the shaved ice stall in the center of the stall is getting passed by because there are so many customers on both sides of the stall.
“Yo, Ginjiro.”
Elvis brought me some more food today.
It was still a little early for lunch, but he bought some delicious looking meat skewers.
Thank you Elvis.
Next to him is Maria, who has a magical charm.
On her chest, a necklace made of power stones stands out.
It’s not the same kind of power stone, but I wonder what would happen if she met that florist’s daughter.
I would never do such a thing myself, but the thought of being in such a situation makes me break out in a cold sweat.
Free shaved ice served to Elvis and Maria.
“Hello, Ginjiro-san. I wanted to see you again.”
I think it’s a sales smile, but Ginjiro doesn’t feel bad.
“The usual way is to shave the ice thin and pour sweet syrup over it, but would you like to try something a little more luxurious?”
Maria, who looks gorgeous, came over so I decided to make a gorgeous version of shaved ice.
Taking out a glass bowl from the item box, I first made the shaved ice.
I put the mango I bought from Edel on top of the shaved ice, and then put a generous amount of condensed milk on top.
“This alone is delicious, but if you want other fruits, just buy some next door and put them on top. You can have your own original shaved ice.”
On the tray I used at the coffee shop, I put two shaved ice and a spoon on it.
I gave them to Elvis as they were, and he took them to the Edel’s stall next door.
They were topped with pineapple and cherry, respectively.
The receptionist girl from the commercial guild kept looking at the shaved ice with the toppings on it.
“Everything’s sold.”
The old lady’s vegetable stall seem to have sold out.
After handing over the meat skewers Elvis gave me, the old lady moves to the table.
Please take a good rest, since you were busy with customers all the time.
Would you like to have some, Milia-san? I asked her, but she said she would help with the shaved ice and stand next to me.
I think she’s thirsty, so I gave her a cola, which I just prepared for her.
“The dip makes the vegetables taste good. A customer who had it yesterday said it was good and bought it again today.”
It’s true that miso & mayonnaise is the best.
Personally, I prefer it with shichimi togarashi (seven spice), but it’s hard to explain, so I’ll shut up.
“The ice, the tools here, and the flexibility in thinking are totally different from those I have met. I’m glad to be in charge of Ginjiro-san.”
Glad to hear that.
I also told her that I was glad that Milia was in charge.
A little while after I saw Elvis and Maria off, Edel’s fruit was sold out.
He brought more fruits than yesterday, and even though there were luxury items such as pineapples and mangoes, selling out was amazing.
He was happy to say that today’s sales were triple what they were yesterday.
Oh, the receptionist’s girl was looking at me like she wanted something, so I treated her to a gorgeous version of shaved ice with fruit toppings.
With lots of condensed milk, of course.
The strongly priced pineapples and mangoes sold out with no problem.
Had there been more, they would have sold even more.
In that sense, she was not wrong in her pricing.
What was also surprising was that grapes were the most popular today.
The most expensive ones were pineapples and mangoes at five coppers.
Grapes were sold for two copper coins, and cut apples and pears for one copper coin, so perhaps the middle price range sold well.
The stall was finished earlier than expected, so Milia and the others decided to return to the commercial guild.
I tried to give them their daily allowance, but they did not accept it.
I invited them to have dinner with us instead, and they said yes, so we decided to have dinner at Hungry Bear in the evening.
Harry was very happy, so Ginjiro hoped that some progress would be made.
The vegetable stall old lady says she will wait here until her son comes to pick her up.
Ginjiro gives Harry half of the sales from the shaved ice stall and asks him to escort them back to the commercial guild.
Waving goodbye to Edel and saying see you tomorrow, Ginjiro was left alone with the old lady.
“We sold a lot, didn’t we? Will you have another stall tomorrow?”
The old lady’s goal was to earn money for her grandson’s clothes.
I asked her about it since she has already earned enough money, but she was determined to bring vegetables again tomorrow.
She said she was happy to be able to do business with us young people.
Then let’s wait and have a cup of tea together until her son comes to pick her up.
Ginjiro took out tea leaves and premium yokan from the item box.
He boiled water on the cassette stove and brewed a pot of Shibucha (strong or bitter (green) tea).
“It’s nice to have a hot cup of tea when the weather’s hot~”
Cutting up some yokan for tea, I gave some of the pieces to the old lady.
I asked her name, but she didn’t tell me.
As expected, I can’t call her Vegetable Babaa (Old lady), so I’ll call her Grandma from now on.
It was busy time until a while ago, but now time flows slowly.
For Ginjiro, this moment is a happy one.
