C34 – You Have Guts!
The three-day deadline had arrived, and Tang Yue woke up early in the morning to freshen up and change his clothes. He dressed in a blue and white robe and wore comfortable wooden clogs on his feet. He carefully combed his hair and looked very lively.
Even though Tang Yue’s appearance was ordinary, his gentle temperament and frequent smile made people feel as if they were basking in a gentle spring breeze.
The Marquis of Yueyang personally escorted his son to Prince Zhao’s Mansion. Before leaving, he repeatedly warned him to be cautious.
This brought to mind Tang Yue’s first time in an operating room. When he entered the hospital, he was lucky enough to work with an experienced doctor. Before every surgery, the doctor would always say two words to him: “be careful.”
They had to be cautious with the patient, their condition, and the surgery itself, and they couldn’t afford to make any errors during the procedure. It was the doctors’ responsibility.
As a physician for more than a decade, Tang Yue had never made any avoidable mistakes. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to stand out among his colleagues.
When he arrived at Prince Zhao’s Mansion, Yueyang Marquis was stopped outside the entrance. This time, Tang Yue was not left out in the cold; instead, Hu Jinpeng personally welcomed him inside.
When the other person saw him, he scrutinized him with a new perspective. He wanted to speak but hesitated, indicating that he understood the process of his treatment.
“Do you have confidence that you can cure Wang Zizhao’s leg?” asked the man.
“90%,” replied Tang Yue. He instructed Shan to retrieve the document he had prepared the previous day and handed it to the man. “This is the agreement. No one can guarantee that there will be no issues during the treatment, so I hope Wang Zizhao understands my concerns.”
Hu Jinpeng read the document quickly, and the corner of his mouth twitched. Goodness, was the young master’s bravery made of stone?
The document explicitly stated Wang Zizhao’s injuries and outlined the treatment steps. It was easily comprehensible. However, what did it signify to make the patient assume all risks if any complications occurred during the procedure that could not be avoided?
Furthermore, the patient must unconditionally comply with the doctor’s medical advice following the operation and cannot act against it; otherwise, he would be liable for the consequences.
If the king and queen were to see this document, they would likely reprimand the patient before Tang Yue could perform any surgery.
“Young sir, I’m afraid we need to make some changes,” Hu Jinpeng informed Tang Yue.
“How should we modify it?” Tang Yue had modified the document to match the pre-operative consent form from his past life. He had made it as suitable as possible for the current state of the country.
“Young sir and Wang Zizhao should discuss this matter in person,” Hu Jinpeng replied, uncertain of how far Wang Zizhao could agree to the changes.
Hu Jinpeng led Tang Yue into the inner courtyard. Wang Zizhao’s courtyard was expansive and spacious, but it looked more like the residence of a seasoned general who had fought in battles for a long time, with few trees and mostly training equipment.
Upon entering the room, Tang Yue was startled by the sight before him. The large hall was packed with people, divided into two opposing sides, all of them elderly men.
In the main seat, Wang Zizhao sat calmly in a soft chair, casually sipping his tea. He didn’t seem like a patient about to undergo surgery.
“You’re here,” Wang Zizhao greeted Tang Yue calmly and proceeded to introduce the people in the room to him.
At first, he assumed it was the patient’s family, but he knew it couldn’t be them. If it were Wang Zizhao’s family, he wouldn’t be sitting in the main seat.
Tang Yue greeted each one of them, but his smile froze when he saw them. Unfortunately, the old men didn’t show him any respect. They either ignored him or looked down at him from the corner of their eyes.
Tang Yue didn’t bother trying to talk to them anymore. He only asked Wang Zizhao, “Have you prepared the things that the Ninth Prince requested?”
“A newly built house that has never been lived in, bed sheets boiled with hot water, two clever and quick-witted servants, and a large supply of clean gauze. Is that correct?” Wang Zizhao replied.
“Yes.”
“It’s just a minor issue. Do you need to check it?”
Tang Yue shook his head. He trusted Wang Zizhao more than himself.
