Celery.
Lucy and Sun Ling Hui came back to the enrolment queues after giving a group of new college students a tour around the campus.
Sun Ling Hui was annoyed the queues were long except for Zhen Wu’s queue. Zhen Wu was working on his laptop, and if students approached him, he would tell them to line up in the other queues.
‘CEO Zhen, why are you slacking off while the rest of the student council members are helping the new students?’ Sun Ling Hui asked.
Zhen Wu wouldn’t have looked up if Lucy wasn’t standing next to Sun Ling Hui.
‘Which of your eyes can see I’m doing nothing?’ Zhen Wu asked.
‘Both my eyes,’ Sun Ling Hui said.
‘I’m the supervisor here,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘It’s an important job.’
Lucy knew Zhen Wu was still angry at Sun Ling Hui for reporting false rumors about Zhen Wu in the college magazine.
‘Xiao Hui, help enrol the new students then guide them to their dormitories,’ Lucy said.
‘Alright,’ Sun Ling Hui said. ‘It’s my fault for being born with a servant’s fate.’
Sun Ling Hui accepted Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei’s registration forms. She helped them enrol in their courses, and took them to their dorm room but they kept looking behind their shoulders at Zhen Wu.
Sun Ling Hui noticed the infatuation looks in Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei’s eyes and she shook her head.
‘Zhen Wu is the handsome prince in the college,’ Sun Ling Hui said. ‘He’s rich and powerful. See the beautiful girl next to him? She’s Lucy, the president of the student council, his girlfriend. She’s smart, beautiful, rich and has a good personality. You two can stop looking at Zhen Wu. There is no chance you two can break up Zhen Wu and Lucy.’
Wu Min Mei believed Sun Ling Hui. Although she thought Zhen Wu was handsome, he and Lucy made an attractive couple.
Yan Han An resented why Zhen Wu was indifferent to her and the other female students, but loving toward Lucy.
Sun Ling Hui looked at Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei’s personal files.
‘Yang Han An, you’re a good violinist, why are you wasting your skills here when you could be accepted to the best Arts college?’ Sun Ling Hui asked. ‘And Wu Min Mei, your background is in music too, but why are you enrolled in commerce and economics courses like Yang Han An?’
‘My mum grew up in this city,’ Yang Han An said. ‘And my dad wants to give his company to me, because I’m their only child.’
‘It’s your lives,’ Sun Ling Hui said. ‘You can enrol in any courses as long as you pay your fees. Here are free college year books for new students.’
Sun Ling Hui dropped off Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei at their dorm room and she walked back to the queues.
In the year book were unauthorized photos of Zhen Wu. Sun Ling Hui had secretly followed Zhen Wu and Lucy around campus and she snapped candid photos of Zhen Wu and Lucy.
‘Xiao Mei, catch me before I faint,’ Wu Min Mei said. ‘Zhen Wu is the CEO of Yue’s company. Look how photogenic he is. His alias is C.Y. Too bad he’s taken by the president of the student council.’
‘Yes, he is photogenic,’ Yang Han An said.
It was love at first sight for Yang Han An.
‘Let’s tidy our dorm room and go eat,’ Yang Han An said.
‘OK,’ Wu Min Mei said.
Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei unpacked their bags and they walked to the cafe on campus.
‘Xiao An, look over there,’ Wu Min Mei said. ‘It’s Zhen Wu and Lucy.’
‘I see,’ Yang Han An said. ‘Let’s go get our food and sit at their table.’
‘Xiao An, I don’t think that is a good idea,’ Wu Min Mei said.
‘There’s no problem,’ Yang Han An said. ‘We can use the excuse of wanting to thank them for helping us enrol.’
Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei brought their food to Zhen Wu and Lucy’s table.
‘Hello president Lucy,’ Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei greeted.
Lucy saw the way Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei had stars in their eyes while looking at Zhen Wu.
‘Hello,’ Lucy said. ‘Take a seat.’
‘Thank you,’ Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei said together.
Wu Min Mei thought Sun Ling Hui was right, Lucy was had a good personality and wasn’t a snob like other rich people.
‘Big brother Zhen Wu, thank you for helping us today,’ Yang Han An said.
‘It’s not a problem,’ Zhen Wu said but his eyes were on Lucy.
Hang Mac heard Sun Ling Hui gossiped about Yang Han An and Wu Min Mei. Hang Mac thought they were beautiful girls.
Zhen Wu frowned when Lucy transferred all the celery from her plate to his plate.
‘Zhen Wu, I don’t like the taste of celery,’ Lucy said.
Zhen Wu put Lucy’s celery in his mouth.
Hang Mac wanted to tease Zhen Wu. Hang Mac picked up celery to put into Zhen Wu’s plate.
‘What are you doing?’ Zhen Wu asked Hang Mac.
‘I don’t like the taste of celery too,’ Hang Mac said innocently.
‘It has nothing to do with me,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘If you don’t want to eat celery then throw it in the bin.’
‘It’ll be a waste to throw food in the bin,’ Hang Mac said. ‘Didn’t you eat Lucy’s celery?’
‘I’m full,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘President Lucy, we should go prepare for the opening ceremony,’ Lam Ting said.
Lam Ting was jealous Zhen Wu doted on Lucy.
‘You’re right,’ Lucy said.
Lucy heard Yue Ni caused trouble for Zhen Wu, and he couldn’t sleep last night.
‘Zhen Wu, go sleep in the student council building,’ Lucy said. ‘I’ll wake you up when I’m done preparing for the opening ceremony.’
‘I want to go home,’ Zhen Wu sulked.
Unlike everyone else at the table, Lucy wasn’t surprised it was possible for Zhen Wu to sulk too, because they’ve been together long enough for her to see how childish Zhen Wu was.
‘Zhen Wu, you’re a member of the student council,’ Lucy said. ‘You need to stay for the opening ceremony to welcome the new students.’
‘Then I quit,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘Zhen Wu, do you want to break your promise to me?’ Lucy asked.
‘Alright,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘I’ll go sleep in the student council building and wait for you.’
Zhen Wu kissed Lucy’s cheek and he walked to the student council building.
Lam Ting couldn’t get used to Zhen Wu only seeing Lucy even when he was in a group setting.
In the afternoon, Zhen Wu pulled Lucy onto the sofa with him. He hugged her, and didn’t want to open his eyes.
‘Lucy, what time is it?’ Zhen Wu asked. ‘Do I need to wake up for the opening ceremony?’
‘Yes,’ Lucy said. ‘Zhen Wu, look how tired you are. Why don’t you elect someone to replace Mei Jia? Then you can delegate most of your duties to them.’
Zhen Wu slowly stood. He pulled Lucy up and he let her adjust his clothes.
‘Why didn’t I think of it?’ Zhen Wu asked.
‘Because your IQ is declining by the day,’ Lucy teased.
‘I heard people who are in love have low IQ,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘It’s your fault I have low IQ.’
‘Yes, it’s my fault,’ Lucy said. ‘I wanted you to become a fool in love. That way with your low IQ, no one else would want to be with you.’
Zhen Wu hugged Lucy. He wanted to hold her to go back to sleep.
‘I only want to be with you,’ Zhen Wu said. ‘You can’t leave me.’
Lucy pulled Zhen Wu’s hands out of her shirt.
‘Zhen Wu, we should go,’ Lucy said. ‘I asked Lam Ting to do the speech on behalf of the student council, but we still need to make an appearance.’
‘OK,’ Zhen Wu said.
When Zhen Wu and Lucy arrived at the assembly hall, they overheard Wu Min Mei and Yang Han An gossip while Lam Ting was making a speech on stage.
‘I heard big brother Zhen Wu gave vice-president Lam Ting a love letter and got rejected,’ Wu Min Mei said. ‘Then president Lucy transferred here and pursued big brother Zhen Wu.’
‘Why would Lam Ting reject the CEO of Yue’s company?’ Yang Han An asked.
‘Many students witnessed Lam Ting reject Zhen Wu’s love letter,’ Wu Min Mei said.
The students applauded Lam Ting after her speech ended.
‘Lam Ting is a beautiful girl,’ Lucy said to Zhen Wu. ‘Most men find her irresistible.’
‘Lucy, I’ve explained to you the love letter incident was a misunderstanding,’ Zhen Wu said.
‘Of course I care if people spread lies about someone rejecting my loveable boyfriend,’ Lucy said.
