'Twin Sun.' Keng summoned the silver form. His entire body lit up in silver light as flames began to ignite from him. Hydrosphere enveloped in the silver light. The sounds of the sea hummed from the daggers as Keng ran forward. Weiss hadn't waited for him. She was observant enough to understand Keng was ready for battle now. She ran at him, swords behind her as she ran.
'Let's see if he can keep up.' She tightened her grip around her swords. She would X-strike into a flurry of blows. She rushed forward, slashing in an X as the wind rushed forward to strike Keng. Keng dodged to the side as Weiss slashed in an X. She quickly whipped into a double side slash as she was met with silver wisps of fox fire. The wisps exploded in light as she pushed through.
Keng moved in to strike. Weiss reacted without fail. She quickly blocked the attacks. Flames erupted from the daggers. Keng pulled back, twirling the dagger in his hand as Weiss rushed forward slashing at the air. Condensed wind strikes flew at Keng as he jumped out of the way, feeling the air nick his leg as he came up.
Light shimmered around him, distorting him. Weiss did another X-strike at him as he disappeared. Keng jumped backwards, watching Weiss miss him completely. He quietly slid backwards as the hum of Hydrosphere caught his attention.
'What is it?' Keng asked the god weapons. They hummed at him. He wondered if they were trying to tell him something. He looked up and noticed Weiss was looking around. He looked down at his arms. He couldn't see himself well, but understood his body was still there. 'Altering the light. I guess it was possible with some effort. Now what?'
The daggers hummed louder. Weiss' head snapped towards him. Keng cursed in his head as he started to move. Something was telling him that Weiss could feel some sort of distortion. The daggers continued to hum as he quickly moved, removing the light illusion around him. Weiss appeared behind him in an instant, swinging at him. The wind and sword forced him away, tumbling forwards.
Keng jumped back up and rushed at Weiss. The two of them exchanged blows. The hum of the daggers grew louder as he continued to strike. The sound of the raging sea grew to its loudest, glowing with a mix of sea blue and silver.
'What's happening with this?' Keng wondered.
'Strange, Hydrosphere is reacting to the battle.' Weiss observed. 'I only heard stories about the wielders of Hydrosphere. It was said that the trident could grant water breathing as well as hydrokinesis. It was extremely rare for the weapon to change its shape to fit the god weapon user, too. Now its hums are like I'm standing near the Great Sea.' Weiss thought.
Keng moved forward and slashed in a X. Weiss moved to block, raising her eyes as she noticed a large amount of water flying out of the daggers.
'Shit.' She cursed. The waves crashed into her, sending straight into the wall on the other side.
"Woah, what the hell?" Keng gasped. He immediately looked down at the weapon and listened to the hum grow quiet, again. Weiss blew herself dry, floating in the air as her swords disappeared.
"Alright, that's enough." Weiss spoke. She had gathered enough information on him and assumed the Assessment spell would register everything that happened. The Hydrosphere daggers glowed bright blue and faded from Keng's hands. They created two circular tattoos near his wrist. They were blue and formed a picture of Moon with waves on the bottom half of the moon.
"W-where did they go?" Keng gasped. He looked up at the Angel Saint who had already made her way to him. She grabbed his right arm and looked at the tattoo.
"Hydrosphere is definitely a god weapon. It's marked you. You can use the mark to summon it." Weiss answered, letting go of his arm.
"How do I summon it?"
"I'm not sure. You'll have to find someone who wields a god weapon. Only those with god weapons can teach you the basis of wielding a god weapon. It'll be more beneficial for you to find someone that can do that." Weiss told him, moving towards a door. Keng turned to follow, noticing the table was now a door.
"Our time is up." Weiss told him. She turned, facing Keng. She folded her arms and gave him a small smile. "You have much to learn, little one. You have a unique journey ahead of you. Your creation, your status, everything is unique. Don't doubt what you're doing. Whatever happened to Lee Seng, you will figure it out. If you have to save him, do it without hesitation. If you hesitate like you did today, you'll surely reap the consequences of your actions, got it?"
Keng nodded at her. He had learned what she meant by it. He recalled his time in Elder Jyu'so's Assessment spell and he did nothing but get sloppily pushed around and follow an illusion of Lee Seng around.
"I understand, Miss Weiss." Keng have her a bow. "I think I understand the point of this Assessment now. Thank you for your help." With that, they both turned to the door.
"Go ahead first. What lies beyond this, even I don't know about. Train hard. Protect the people you love. Protect your Vessel at all costs. Don't allow despair to turn you two into monsters. May the Twins' light guide you." Weiss waved. Keng waved back at her and opened the door. He stepped into the darkness, closing the door behind him.
Keng's eyes opened as he rose out of bed.
'I'm in the cabin.' He registered his surroundings. It was dark and there didn't seem to be anyone sleeping in the empty beds next to him. He pulled the covers off and noticed slippers at the side of his bed. He slipped them on and wandered out of the room. The fire was going in the living room. He looked towards the kitchen and noticed two teacups, plates and a single teapot was sitting off to the side of the counter.
'Where's Elder Jyu'so?' Keng wondered. He exited the cabin, shutting the door behind him. He could hear people quietly chatting away as he stepped onto the porch. He noticed three Fox Spirits were quietly chatting off ot the side on the porch. They acknowledged him and nodded at him. He did the same and continued down the stairs.
"He's awake." One of them spoke. Keng took a moment to look around. The Flowering Forest was certainly different now that a village was here. The huge tree still stood in the same spot. Picnic tables still sat in their same spot. Crystal lights hung in the air, giving him a magical forest vibe.
"Interesting." He whispered.
"You're sure the boy's done?" Gorrum's voice asked.
"I'm sure of it. He left through the door Weiss was instructed to lead him to when she was done testing him." Jyu'so answered. Keng turned to his right and watched Gorrum and Jyu'so quickly rounding the corner. They noticed him standing there and rushed over to him.
"You're awake." Gorrum obviously pointed out. Keng nodded and turned to give both of the older Foxes a bow.
"It seems Weiss has left after accomplishing her task." Jyu'so nodded. "You have an air about you, Silver one. Have you finally decided what you must do?" Keng nodded. Gorrum studied the child. Two identical tattoos were on his wrists, something Gorrum hadn't noticed in the prior meeting.
"It seems Hydrosphere has been given to you." Gorrum pointed out.
"Good, good." Jyu'so nodded happily. "We can move onto your next task."
"My next task? So soon? I just got out of the Assessment."
"And you did well." Jyu'so complimented. "You will head out with Gorrum and learn more about the god weapons."
"Miss Weiss did say these were god weapons." Keng looked down, burshing the tattoos. He felt an odd sense of comfort to them. He felt connected to the Night.
"We'll learn more about them tomorrow." Gorrum told Keng. Keng looked up and nodded. Gorrum could tell Keng was an obedient kid.
'He doesn't fully have the mentality of an adult, yet. That's fine.' Gorrum observed. 'In time he shall mature and maybe his form will change along with his growth.'
"I'll meet you in the cabin you're staying in." Gorrum pointed to the cabin Keng had just come out of. "We'll go to Dat'e, the main Village. Their library shall have all the information on god weapons. I'll give you history on them and their importance with the people of Daros."
"The people of Daros?" Keng asked, interested. Gorrum nodded at him and folded his arms together.
"Correct. The people of Daros. Not just Fox Spirits. Mermen, centaurs, the Ice Elves to the North, etc. The people of Daros are vast and they all follow different gods. You didn't get an explanation of all of this?"
"No. I only have the basic knowledge I was born with." Keng shook his head.
"Well, you can go ahead and teach him about a variety of things. There's no rush. We have time." Jyu'so told Gorrum.
