The howl of the Dryad reverberated through Yggdrasil as Lily, Jyu'so, and Gorrum watched the corrupted plants start to write in pain. The plants pulled backwards towards the tree as the Dryad pressed herself into the tree.
"Nooo!" The Dryad shrieked. Her pale purple form was lit up with Silver cracks.
"He did it." Lily whispered.
"LILY!" Keng's distant voice broke through the shrieks. Lily spun around.
"Keng?"
"DO IT! DO IT NOW!"
Lily spun back around, music shifting. She turned her attention to the tree.
'The tree has trapped the Curse inside. We'll have to use that to our advantage.' Lily thought to herself. 'I'll use the spell on the tree and see what happens. It should only affect the Curse, keeping everyone else safe.'
"Sir Gorrum! Elder Jyu'so!" Lily shouted. The two older men turned to look at her as they severed some more vines and thorns. "Protect me! I'm gonna do the spell!"
"It's already time?" Jyu'so asked, jumping backwards. "I'll watch her back! Gorrum keep up with the front half!"
"Yes, sir!" Gorrum hopped backwards, releasing a wave of fire in front of him as Lily began to channel her energy into her ukulele.
'Radiant Bolt. It's the skill we'll need to use to kill the Curse. Vengeance, in particular, needs complete eradication from both the outside and inside.
'To invoke the spell, you must muster your energy into a single point. For those who fight melee, it could be your fists or weapon. For ranger users, channel it to a single focus point. Once you have that, speak the spell words and imagine a bolt of Light piercing or firing at your opponent. If you've done it correctly, it should imitate a lightning bolt.' The writing guided Lily as she continued to channel.
The energy grew heavy on her ukulele. Lily felt like if she channeled for longer, it would miss. The ukulele slowly rose higher into the sky as corrupted vine monsters rose from the ground. They pulsed with bright purple energy as if the Vengeance Curse was trying to spread itself thin on purpose. Lily turned her body to the right, pulling the ukulele backwards with her right hand as she readied her shot. Pink energy culminated around her as the crackles of lightning flew around her. Her pink hair whipped in the air as she began to readjust the shot.
"Radiant Bolt!" Lily launched the pink energy forward. The loud boom of lightning flew around Lily as she watched it sail straight through the crowd of corrupted humanoid plants. The Radiant Bolt arced upwards, scattering its energy across the corrupted humanoid plants. The bolt exploded against Yggdrasil, filling the tree with pink lines scattering across the tree.
"ARGH!" The Vengeance Curse Dryad shrieked. Her body slammed against the tree as the two energies began to glow brightly. "This can't be happening!" Yggdrasil's base lit up in dark purple as the energy fired up the tree. "I will not fade away! Not like that Conqueror! I will LIVE!" Yggdrasil filled in dark purple as pink and silver lines continued to scatter throughout the tree.
[Notice: The Vengeance Curse is attempting to activate a powerful Curse move. Radiant Bolt's effect is weakening with the charge up.]
"Tch." Keng groaned as he sprinted towards the colorful energy. Despite his blindness effect, he could still register (and hear) the commotion ahead. Colorful trees and foliage appeared all around him as he blankly ran ahead.
'Pink, black, red.' Keng registered Lily, Jyu'so and Gorrum staring up at the huge tree. It was covered in purple with silver and pink light. 'Radiant Bolt's effects are weakening, but this pink-green aura is still burning strong… Is Fan'r alive?'
"What's happening? I thought that move would've killed it!" Jyu'so asked. Gorrum and Lily shook their heads as a pulse of purple washed over the area around them. Dead corrupted plants started to writhe, lumping together. Large plant monsters lifted themselves off of the ground as Keng came to a stop.
"That was the move the Saviors said would definitely work on a Vengeance Curse! Why's it look like that?!?" Jyu'so pointed.
"Lily, heal my blindness." Keng looked at the pink energy. Lily and the others looked at him, noticing the purple glowing veins around his eyes. Lily lifted her hand and covered his eyes.
"What happened in there? I thought Radiant Bolt should've worked." Lily asked as pink energy began to wash into Keng's eyes.
"It should've." Keng sighed.
[Blindness has been cured.]
Keng pulled Lily's hand away and blinked a couple of times. The Corrupting Gaze was annoying. Hydrosphere appeared in his hands, shimmering as he held the dagger form from shifting.
"What do we do now?" Gorrum asked. "These large plant creatures are coming at us." The large plant monsters rushed at them. Gorrum's scimitars lit up as he fired off a couple shots of fire at them. The fire extinguished as the large plant monsters shrieked. Thorns fired off at the group, forcing them back.
Keng and Jyu'so lifted their hands, creating a shield to block the thorns as the large plant monsters swung their fists down at them. Keng grunted as he held the gravity shield up. Jyu'so shoved two large monsters backwards as Gorrum quickly jumped and slashed at them. Flames erupted severing the plant monsters in half as their bodies dropped and began to repair themselves.
"Ad Libertum (Improvisation), Magical Increase!" Lily grabbed onto Keng. Keng's body began to burst with energy as his straining arms quickly flew upwards. The monsters flew upwards as Jyu'so quickly punched a large hole in the plants.
"They aren't dying." Gorrum shouted. "What should we do?"
"Lily and Keng will have to kill the source. We'll have to deal with these large foes." Jyu'so instructed. "I'll cut a path open for you two. Use the knowledge we gave you to kill the Curse. It's energy has hit the highest I've ever felt it hit. I fear we don't have much time!"
"Got it!" Keng nodded. Jyu'so's form grew pitch black as he shot into the air. He lift his arms up to the side as darkness pulled around him, eyes glowing black like void.
"Twilight Void." Jyu'so shot his hands out, the night sky painting itself across the entire field as monsters and plants began to fall.
"Let's go!" Keng sprinted. Lily sprinted after Keng, quickly growing farther and farther behind the speedy Keng as the night sky was below her.
'Lily, is there a way for you to spread Radiant Bolt out like a song?' Keng telepathically asked her.
'Y-you want me to take a spell a barely know and create a song with it?' Lily replied. 'That takes a lot of energy! If I fail to emulate the spell correctly, I could be the one who gets hurt!'
'Instead of a concentrated bolt of light, think of it as a field of light.' Keng told her. 'Fill the night below us with stars! Can you do that?'
'I… I don't know! It's too dangerous!'
'Don't worry about that! Just think of spreading your light as far as you can! It has to reach the Yggdrasil tree at all costs, okay?' Keng looked behind him. Lily gulped. Keng was asking her to do something she wasn't really comfortable doing.
'Y-you and I are different. Y-you can do anything and create anything you want because you're so Blessed, but I'm just a halfing! A human-Fox Spirit hybrid who can barely see the Energy through my eyes! H-how do you expect me to do such a thing?' Lily asked. Keng slid to a stop, turning as he lifted his left arm up. Hydrosphere pulsed brightly.
'That's what makes you unique!' Keng smiled at her. Lily came to a stop. The Twilight Void scattered all around her as Hydrosphere glowed light a blue star in the night sky. 'You're a double Blessed halfing! You're a Human-Fox Spirit hybrid who easily guarded Commander Chimera's men from the Conqueror Curse and saved Ritsuka! You are more powerful than you think you are. You have Fox blood burning within your veins right now! You have the compassion of your Mother's people flowing through you. Tear'a and Rox'su did not choose wrong! You can do this! You can fill the Twilight Void with your Light and help me kill the Curse!'
"But—" Lily stuttered aloud. "What if I can't? I'm just… I'm just…"
"Don't you want to be the one to tell your Mom and brothers you saved your Father and the whole entire village?" Keng asked, with a bright smile.
[Notice: Vengeance Cursed Dryad is fully energized with Curse energy. Attack now!]
"You puny little maggots!" The Cursed Dryad shrieked. Her purple hands plunged through Yggdrasil, pulling the bark away as her body pulsed with silver light. Yggdrasil crumpled around her as the Cursed Dryad pushed herself out halfway. "I will show you true Vengeance! I will show you what it means to mess with the wrong being! I AM BETTER THAN ALL OF YOU! Vengeance Curse: Vengeful Death!" The purple energy flew straight into the Dryad's body as she lifted her hand out. "You should have just stayed dead maggot! I will show you true Vengeance!"
