Chapter 486 Spiritual Energy

"Train him well so he won't be struck with so much emotion." Cain looked at the small Crow. She stood at the front of the circled carpet in front of the raised chairs. Cain cocked his head at her while he gave her a smirk.

"What do you mean by that, m'lord? You're warning me for once. I'm not sure if I should be grateful or scared." Crow replied. Cain chuckled.

"I know when I give you warnings, you're usually suspicious but I warn you because the God King warned me. Lee Seng is very special. Him and his partner. I need you to be well aware there could be things that could happen. Things even the gods haven't seen, yet."

"The gods? So he's this generation's most watched child." Crow scoffed, looking away. Cain frowned and stood up.

"Don't be so moody, my little Crow." Cain rhythmically went down the steps. "Many gods are interested in him for other reasons. Should I tell you so you're prepared for that?" Crow pondered about it as he circled around Crow. She watched her Lord with a "I'm so done" expression. He was always like this with her. He was playful. She had grown used to it and simply waited for him to continue.

"I'll tell you." He jumped to a stop in front of his mercury throne. Crow gave him her whole entire attention. He leaned in and whispered to her, "He has a lot of Spiritual Energy. Tons of it."

"What?" Crow asked as her Lord pulled back. "What do you mean by that, m'lord? I thought it was impossible for any creature to gain so much Spiritual Energy after what happened on Earth many millennia ago."

"You're right about that, my little Crow." Cain nodded. "But yet there was one born on Earth. Y'know how it is. Sometimes there's just… Creatures who are born with so much Spiritual Energy. If we were back in the days before the Biohuman serum totally changed the world, he would probably go unnoticed."

"If he didn't somehow find a way to unlock it through other means." Crow added. Cain nodded swinging the cane into his shoulder.

"So please pay close attention to him. God King Dathro has told me Fate has shown him Lee Seng's fate."

"And how is it?" Crow asked. Cain let a small chuckle out as he looked off into the distance. Something had xaught his attention. His smile faded. The cane disappeared and he looked at Crow.

"Messy." Cain shook his head. "That's all I summoned you for. If we had more time, I'd ask you why you helped him… But my Collector has awoken. I need to get to him before Lady Esme devours him." Crow watched her Lord move to the large doors behind her.

"You know why I helped him, m'lord." Crow answered. Cain waved at her and vanished into smoke.

The golden Fox Fires exploded, shaking the room as Crow continued to throw daggers. The black metallic feathers scattered about as Lee Seng. In the chaos, Lee Seng summoned two Echoes and created random paths for them to run.

'I wonder how far they can go before they fizzle out.' Lee Seng wondered as he closed the distance. Crow noticed this and flicked her finger at herself.

The daggers all shook, flying backwards as they exploded more Fox Fires. The Echoes immediately disappeared as the feathers flew into Crow. Lee Seng had anticipated this and created a gravity bubble around him. The feathers got caught in his gravitation and spun around him, flying around him and back to its owner.

'He caught on. Well, how unlucky.' Crow summoned a single dagger and held it in her hand.

'What is she doing?' Lee Seng wondered. 'Could she possibly be able to pierce through my gravity bubble? There's no way, right?' Lee Seng slid to a stop. His hands lit up and more Fox Fires appeared around him. The energy flowing off of Crow suddenly changed.

Lee Seng felt a shiver come on as Crow released the dagger. The dagger flew at him at such a high speed, Crow thought there would be no way the Fox could react in time. The gravity bubble grew thicker as the dagger slammed into the barrier.

The force of the dagger slowed fighting against the barrier as Lee Seng felt himself shift backwards. He pushed against the force, raising his arms to better control the energy. He was actually holding his own against a stronger dagger.

Crow stood there, baffled by this as the dagger slowly moved deeper through the gravity bubble.

"Argh!" Lee Seng shouted. A blast of gravity rippled outwards. It was sloppy work and Crow snapped out of her surprise as she manifested another dagger and tossed it.

The second dagger pierced through the bubble, exploding it. The explosion sent Crow and Lee Seng tumbling backwards. Lee Seng slammed his head into the floor, sliding to a stop fifteen feet away while Crow managed to stop herself from flying straight into the wall, again.

Lee Seng felt the pressure of his Negative pressing against him. He felt heavy.

'Even with Twin Sun form, I still managed to max myself out…' Lee Seng thought. He could hear Crow standing and brushing herself off.

"Are you still alive?" Crow asked. He thought about not saying anything but she would just continue asking him until he said something.

"Yes." Lee Seng said, loudly. He listened to Crow's footsteps. She came towards him and looked at him as he laid unmoving.

"What's the problem?" Crow asked. He wondered if she had ever seen a Biohuman before.

"My Negative pushes the gravity I distort onto myself." Lee Seng replied. "So I can't do anything for awhile."

"Well, I was gonna ask if you wanted to stop. I think beating you that many times is enough for one day." Crow sighed. She folded her arms together as she nodded. "How long is this gonna be?"

"Half an hour, usually." Lee Seng replied. "But, uh, Crow…"

"Hmm?" Crow looked at the young Fox. She wondered if he was gonna ask her what the point of fighting was. She wasn't particularly a confrontational person when it came to fights. She played it smart and only fought if she had to.

"You're really, really, really strong." Lee Seng complimented her. "I don't really see why Ca– Lord Cain picked you yet, but I think I can learn something from you." Lee Seng told her.

'Is this optimism?' She wondered.

"I know it might be weird to say after you pummeled me. You might even be thinking I'm mad but I'm not. I know I lack a lot of things and I just want to be strong. I should've said this before we started but I'm in your hands. Please teach me well, Crow."

"Buttering me up won't get you extra brownie points, Fox." Crow squatted down and patted his head. "But thank you. I'm curious to see where you'll go by the end of this. Time will seem forever here and it is, so don't be afraid to ask for breaks. I'll make sure you're Collector ready for Lord Cain."

Crow stood up and gave him one last curious look. Lee Seng had potential. She saw it for herself and now she just wanted to make sure he had a mastery over the basics.

"I'm going to cook dinner for us. When you're done, come up and rest for a bit." Crow told him.

"Alright." Lee Seng tried to nod. He listened to her footsteps slowly disappear as he let out a sigh of relief. "I wonder if I'll get my Class stuff unlocked while I'm in here…"

Keng didn't know what happened. Everything had happened kinda fast and now he was standing outside with a small crowd watching him and Isaac. Isaac stood about thirty get away from him as Gorrum stood off to the side, in-between them.

"The rules are simple." Gorrum looked at both of them. "You'll fight each other but do not fight with the intent to kill. The match will end of you try to kill each other. Passing out and/or giving out ends the match. This match is only meant to see how much Keng has changed and coincidentally falls into your bet."

Isaac's eye twitches at the mention of the bet. He seemed entirely different to Keng. He wasn't fiery nor aggressive. He was quite passive and wore a lot of awkwardness.

'Does he want to fight me?' Keng wondered.

"Ready yourselves!" Gorrum shouted. Keng sighed and put a hand on his dagger. Isaac closed his eyes and sighed. He pulled out his spear and readied himself. Isaac opened his eyes and the awkwardness disappeared in an instant. He seemed more focused and ready to go.

"Get set!" Gorrum shouted. Keng raised his other hand to rest on his other dagger. He pulled the daggers out and allowed them to stay the same size. Gorrum looked at both of them before raising his hand and swinging downwards. "Go!"
