Chapter 108 - Familiarity

Thankfully, Ferdinand was still not there when they arrived at the study room. It was quiet and the atmosphere felt relaxing, it feels like she can easily focus in this kind of atmosphere. She missed this room since she wasn't able to pay a visit not even once when Ferdinand was on a vacation with his family, It feels like it has been so long since the last time she went here.

Alexandra roamed her eyes around and she stared at her desk as if her gaze was nailed at that desk. Right, my notebook with almost all of my things were hidden there, she thought to herself and walked towards her desk. She pulled the chair backward behind it before she took a seat and pulled the chair, along with herself sitting on it, near the desk. The screeching sound the chair emitted against the floor when Alexandra pulled it near her desk resonated inside the room before she made herself comfortable in her seat.

And as if on cue, they heard a knock coming from the door which grabbed her attention and made her raise her head to look at the door. It must be Ferdinand, was what she guessed and she was right. She heard a coming from the outside, "Young miss, Sir Ferdinand has arrived," That voice belongs to Mari and a smile crept up her lips before she spoke.

"Come in," She said and the door opened as a male entered wearing a formal outfit and carrying a suitcase that looked heavy as if there are many things inside. Their gazes met and he showed her a gentle yet faint smile. It was Ferdinand, his hair was combed neatly and his clothes were all neat, you can't see a single wrinkle or crease even if you stared at it or even if you looked at it closely.

"Good afternoon, young miss," Ferdinand greeted her as he lightly bowed. Alexandra went down her seat before she gave him a bow and greeted him back. "It's a pleasure to see you once again, Sir Ferdinand. I am looking forward to you teaching me once again," Alexandra said, her voice gentle and trying to sound polite as much as possible. This is like practice since there are only 3 days left before she is going to be introduced to everyone in the palace. Although Ferdinand was shocked by how Alexandra acted and trying to sound formal and all, he just smiled at her before he responded.

"It is also a pleasure seeing you once again, young miss. I am also looking forward to the next days that I am going to teach you once again," Ferdinand said and Alexandra just smiled at him as a response. Ferdinand took a seat in front of her as he placed down his suitcase on top of the desk and started taking out all of the things inside while Alexandra just watched him doing so.

Carlos was just standing still beside the door as he leaned against the wall. His left leg raised and the sole of his shoes somewhat pushing against the wall. He was crossing his arms as he stared at them, his guard raised as always.

"Let's see if you still remember what we have previously discussed," Was what Ferdinand said after he took out all of his things. Alexandra grinned knowing that she still remembered all of them and that she will answer most of his questions, one of her skills or strengths was that she can easily memorize and remember everything because of her past life. When she is working as a cashier and you have to memorize some of the things and such. It's thanks to her past experiences.

--

"Okay, that's all for today," Ferdinand said as he started to fix his things, placing it back inside his suitcase and that is what Alexandra also did. She placed all of her things inside the drawers of her desk before she stood up from her seat. She slightly bowed at him, "Thank you for your efforts in teaching me," Alexandra said. Ferdinand just smiled at her and bowed his head before he turned around and started walking towards the door. He nodded at Carlos and Carlos nodded back at him. That is their way of saying goodbye to each other.

Carlos opened the door for him to leave and he closed it when Ferdinand left. Alexandra let out a sigh of relief before she leaned back on her seat. "Are you tired, miss?" Carlos asked in a worried tone of voice, they were studying non-stop and Alexandra was processing all of that information in just one day. Alexandra looked at his direction and just gave him a smile before she shook her head, "Not really. I am already used to it," She said before she got down her seat and started walking towards the door of the room to leave, she wants to go downstairs all ready to eat. There is only an hour left before she would eat her dinner. "Where do you want to go, miss?" Carlos asked as he opened the door for her.

"The living room, I want to wait there before I eat my dinner and probably take a rest there," Alexandra responded before she took a step outside and walked slowly as if she was waiting for Carlos to follow behind her. When she heard his light footsteps coming from behind her, she fastened her pace and she went down the stairs quietly heading towards the living room

--

An hour later after Alexandra went to the living room and accidentally fell asleep there, she was already heading towards the dining room to eat her dinner. She eventually arrived there after a few minutes along with Carlos following behind her as usual. She went towards her seat and sat on the chair, she stared at the meals that were made for her. The aroma of the food wafted to her nose and it was mouth-watering, she began to eat. The atmosphere of the place wasn't relaxing nor it was heavy, it was just right enough for her to just eat normally without thinking about anything.

Just like what she usually does. She finished her dinner and went upstairs with not only Carlos but also with Diana so that she can take a bath and go to sleep already. They were quiet as they went up the stairs and Alexandra yawned indicating that she was already sleepy.

It feels like her day was less exciting than before but she was feeling nervous as she prepared herself for what will happen in the next 3 days. She was hoping that it will be okay and what she had decided was the right thing for her and she can handle it. She let out a sigh and shook off those thoughts as she remembered what Diana told her always when she is thinking deeply about something, looking troubled over it.

-- "You need to stop overthinking about things."

-- "You're still a kid, you should enjoy those and not worry about it but it's also nice that you are thinking about the consequences and such."

She yawned once again.

--

After taking a bath, changing her clothes, and combing her hair, she lied down her bed as she was being tucked in by Diana. "Do you think I'll be fine after I'm introduced to everyone?" Alexandra asked Diana as she was being tucked in bed. Before Diana responded, she sat down on her bed and looked at Alexandra, a gentle smile plastered on her face. "You'll be fine, I know it," Was what Diana said, her voice was soothing and relaxing to the ears. It was like the sound a harp would make played by a beautiful angel, it was smooth and pleasant. It was comforting her and telling her that everything will be fine just like what she said.

Alexandra just nodded and she yawned. "Sing me a lullaby, please," Alexandra said after she yawned and Diana smiled at her before she nodded and said, "Gladly," Then she started singing. She sang Alexandra's favorite lullaby.

"Sweet little angel," She started. She did a brief pause at the end before she sang once again. Her voice gentle and soft, as if she was singing in a hushed tone, her voice was warm and mellifluous.

"Close your eyes,

let your problems drift away tonight,"

Alexandra couldn't help but yawn and get sleepy. She remembered the lady that she dreamt about before. The one that made her heart and headache. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a gentle smile across her lips. A soothing and pleasant voice.

"In the sea of dreams,

in your paradise,

sleep tonight,"

Alexandra's eyelids started to get heavy as seconds passed by while Diana was singing. Her voice was like an angel's voice. Why does she compare some people to angels when she still hasn't seen one nor talked to one? Honestly, she also doesn't know. It was like she was comparing them to someone she knows yet she can't recall.

"O sweet little angel of light."

Diana's voice was captivating as well as the smile she would always give her. It was gentle, sweet, pure, beautiful, and warm just like the voice of the lady in her dreams. So gentle, sweet, pleasant, pure, and alluring.

Then before realizing it, she already fell asleep.
