Chapter 117 - Morning

"Do you believe in reincarnation?"

The wind gently blew and caressed the girl's skin. Besides her was a male, his face wasn't completely seen as he was staring out of the window. With a confused expression plastered on her small and pale face, she opened her mouth to speak. "Why are you suddenly asking me that?" Her voice sounded low like it was whisper yet the boy was able to hear it clearly. It sounded gentle just like the morning breeze, she was looking at his direction but he was still looking out of the window. "Nothing. I'm just really curious about it. I like the idea of it. Like the idea of being reincarnated or having another new life after you had a miserable one, isn't it cool?" He sounded excited.

The girl hummed before she responded. "Just like how stars are born and how it gradually loses life? Do you like it the way you like bright, shining, and, beautiful things?" The girl's tone of voice didn't change but it sounded louder than before. "You still remember what I like?" Then the wind gently blew once again.

"You never stop talking about those things, so it keeps on reminding how you like kind of things," The girl responded. The boy let out a small and light laugh, "Do I?" He said shortly after laughing. He still wasn't looking at her direction. The girl just stared at him, not saying anything at all. "So do you also like the idea of it? Reincarnation?" He said and he slowly turned his head in her direction. Their eyes met, red orbs met hazel brown ones.

"Whatever you say, Harris—"

Alexandra fluttered her eyes open as she felt someone lightly shaking her. Her eyes met Diana's enchanting green ones. There was a smile plastered on Diana's lips, it was a gentle one like what she would always have. "Good morning, young miss. I have woke you up earlier than usual, is that okay for you? Since we have so many things to do and after you ate your breakfast, you will immediately head towards the Diamond Palace," Diana said in a gentle tone of voice as Alexandra sat up from her position.

She was rubbing her head which was aching in pain. She doesn't even know why it feels like she forgot something really important when she didn't. It's impossible for her to accidentally hit her head or bang her head against the wall since she isn't sleeping beside a wall. Most of her days were like this, she wakes up with her head aching in pain without knowing the reason why and feeling like she forgot something. She tried to recall everything that happened yesterday night:

She called or talked with Harrison through the mind (or telepathy) she was just trying it but she ended up talking with him for almost an hour. He told her about his case with Elise and what happened to him, he honestly sounded like he was stressed. Then she felt sleepy and that's where their conversation ended and she fell asleep. That is all that happened yet why does it feel likes she completely forgot something very important. She groaned in pain and let out a sigh.

"Umm, young miss? Are you okay? Do you feel not well? You can sleep first if you want and I'll just come back later after 20 minutes or so to wake you up once again. I am just really excited for today," Diana said. She looked like she was panicking and at the same time, worried for Alexandra when she saw the look plastered on the young miss' face. She looked like she was in huge pain but Alexandra just shook her head and responded, "No, no, it's fine. It's just a little headache, that's all," Alexandra said, her voice sounded groggy and low as she just woke up, and showed her a reassuring smile but that didn't change Diana's expression, not even by a little bit.

"Are you sure?" Worry laced her tone of voice and Alexandra just nodded her head, a smile plastered on her face to not make her worry and indicated that she is completely fine and she was able to endure it. Diana let out a sigh before she spoke, "If you insist, young miss. I already prepared the bath for you," Diana said and Alexandra got down her bed. She slid her feet inside her slippers and she walked across the room towards the bathroom, not making any noise except for the sounds of her light footsteps which are quite inaudible for their ears.

Right, I almost forgot that today will be the day that I will be introduced to the people at my father's palace. Although, it's quite nerve-wracking and I'm nervous about how they will react. Well, one of them saw me already but he still doesn't know me yet. That creepy and disturbing guy, Sir Mark Devan, she thought to herself and remembered the smile that he gave her before. A chill went down her spine and thinking about it made her hands cold. She shook those memories off as she took off her clothes, one by one with the help of Diana before she takes a bath.

--

Diana made it more extravagant today, somehow, she looked way more excited and nervous than Alexandra. "Diana, you don't have to do that," Alexandra said as she watched Diana stare at the jewelry boxes placed on top of the table, humming while she was in a thinking pose. She was thinking about what kind of jewelry set would suit the young miss, the one that doesn't look grand. Simple yet elegant since the miss is still a child and those kinds of heavy jewelry might be too much for her.

"But we need to make a good impression, not just by your personality or attitude but also by your looks. You know, people will first judge you by your looks before your personality," Diana said as she made some hand gestures before resuming her thinking pose. She looked like a detective solving a hard case while looking for clues but she was only staring at a jewelry box thinking on what would suit Alexandra. Alexandra was wearing red today and her hair was tied in a high ponytail with a ribbon. "What about red? Since I am also wearing red, shouldn't I wear red for jewelry too? It would look weird if I wore another color. Besides, red suits me well," Alexandra said.

That's what Harrison told her before when giving her the box filled with ties, ribbons, clips, and such things needed for the hair and most of it is red. 'Red suits you well,' That line echoed and repeated inside her head, she couldn't help but smile. Honestly, almost all of the colors of her dresses are either blue or red.

Diana stared at her as she nodded repeatedly as if she was agreeing on what Alexandra just said. "Well, that's true. Then the color red it is!" Diana said and looked for a necklace with a red pendant. Alexandra just let out a sigh of relief.

--

Alexandra just finished eating her breakfast and now, she is currently talking with Diana who kept on telling her some things which showed that she was really worried about the little girl.

"Just don't be nervous, okay? I know you can do it, just think of them as Diana, Mari, Risa, Grace, and the other maids if you suddenly became nervous or afraid. Even though I won't be there, I will still be hoping that it goes well and I will be supporting you," Diana said, she was now on her overprotective mother mode. It looked like she is going to send her daughter to school alone and reminded her of some things before she goes, like try to be friendly and polite to other people especially when she doesn't know them. They might be a gangster or someone who had a gun with them but honestly, how would a kid have a gun and how can they be a gangster at such a young age?

A giggle escaped Alexandra's lips before she nodded as a response. "Yes, I will. Besides, you taught and helped me along with the others on what I should do for today. Christian will also be with me, so that decreased my nervousness and fear for today. He said that he is there for moral support and in case if I'm afraid or nervous about today. That is what he told me yesterday before I go back to the palace," Alexandra said. She sounded like she wasn't afraid and that eased Diana a bit. But Alexandra was actually very nervous, her hands were shaking, sweating, and cold.

"I see. Then I hope that it goes well for you. Good luck, young miss," Diana encouraged Alexandra. She ruffled Alexandra's hair, her voice sounded gentle and soothing to the ears. She could feel the warmth that laced her voice, it was very gentle and mellifluous. It was like Alexandra would never get tired of hearing her voice every day since it sounded very smooth like silk, warm like the morning sun, gentle like the sea breeze, and soothing like the sound of the harp being played by an angel.

Alexandra nodded, a determined expression plastered on her face as she watched Diana properly stood up from her position. "Then, you can go with Carlos now. He must be becoming more and more impatient as he waits for me to finish talking with you. Your father might be waiting for you at the palace to along with your brother," Diana said in her usual tone of voice and Alexandra smiled at her before she spoke and responded, "Goodbye, Diana. I will be back later," She said before she turned around and ran towards Carlos' direction.

Carlos was looking down at her, she was running towards him and he waited for her to arrive in front of him. Alexandra stopped a few steps away from him and he smiled at her. Alexandra returned the smile before she spoke in a gentle tone of voice, "Let's go," She said and Carlos nodded. Alexandra began walking, leaving Diana behind who was watching their back as Alexandra walked away from her.

But before Carlos turned around and followed Diana, he looked at Diana's direction first. An imaginary question mark appeared on top of Diana's head as she wondered why he still hasn't gone with Alexandra who was already now steps away from him not noticing that she was already leaving Carlos behind her. What is that idiot doing? What is he about to do? Why is he not walking? He will be left by Alexandra and she needs someone to guard her as she walked, she might trip for Pete's sake, she thought to herself. She was about to open her mouth to speak when Carlos smiled widely at her and waved goodbye.

"See you later," Carlos mumbled under his breath as if Diana could hear it but Diana was able to read his lips and knew what he was trying to say to her. She just rolled her eyes in response and shooed him away. She pointed at Alexandra and mumbled something under her breathe too, "Follow Alexandra already," Just like Diana, he was able to read her lips and guessed what she was trying to say. Carlos let out a small chuckle before he turned around and started walking towards Alexandra.
