Chapter 119 - Of Introductions and Excitement (2)

"Ready?"

This is it.

Alexandra nodded, a serious look plastered on her face as she gets ready for the next thing that will happen. It feels like she is going to participate in a battle or was about to receive the results of her exams because of how nervous she felt, honestly, she was just going to be introduced but it was completely different. It was very different than those usual introductions, it is not like those introductions in class on your first day in school. It's 5 times more than that, she was going to be introduced to everyone in the palace. They are older than her and know more than her.

Since she was the first girl born in their bloodline, their first reaction might be the same as other people. That she was a curse and such. It's rare for her to hear that nickname now ever since she got close with her brothers and father. Well, that is good and relieving for them especially for Alexandra. She remembered that time where Gilbert defended her from Chandler at the library, they were arguing about Alexandra being a curse and that it would harm them or give them bad luck if they get closer than her more.

Alexandra let out a sigh and Lysander gently opened the door. It slowly revealed the insides of the room, at first it was bright as if there were some sort of very bright light at every inch of the place. It turns out that the curtains were just open and the sun's light passed through the window making the room bright. The room was big and wide, it's size was half the throne room or double the size of the office. How could a living room be this big? There was a fireplace in the middle of the room and just like how a living room should be, there were also couches along with some bookshelves on each corner of the room.

The room was decorated with multiple paintings and some indoor plants. The atmosphere of the place was light and bubbly, it was comforting at the same time. The wallpaper of the room was a light-colored one, light peach. It has this pastel-like aura which suited the whole room. There were people inside, they were either sitting on one of the couches or just standing. It was noisy and they were talking with each other before they arrived and the door was opened but now it was quiet, not a single person was speaking. That was one of the ways to show respect especially towards the emperor.

Alexander and Christian entered the room along with Lysander and Gabriel following behind him. Alexandra was about to follow but Carlos stopped her. With a confused expression displayed across her face, she looked at Carlos. Her eyebrows were creased and curiosity was written all over her face. "Let's wait for his highness, your father's signal before we enter," Carlos said and Alexandra just nodded her head as a response. She stood beside Carlos, they were behind the door that wasn't opened and they were peaking to see what was happening.

Alexander cleared his throat before he spoke. More than 20 people were staring at him, they were all wearing their uniforms as the emperor unexpectedly announced that they need to go to the living room while they were working. Lysander was the one who called them, not the emperor. They were wondering, why in the living room? Why not at the throne room? It was unexpected and it ignited their curiosity. They were thinking and talking about what the reason might be earlier before they arrived in the room.

"I called you all here because I am going to introduce you to someone," Alexander said. His voice cold as ever but since they were already used to it, they were unfazed. Multiple questions popped up inside their head and they were wondering who that person might be. That ignited their flames of curiosity more. It's impossible that it would be another worker since they would just pop up in the working place with one of the knights or guards after they were given a tour around the palace and taught on what they should do and the rules. It must be someone really important since the emperor called all of them here.

That was the cue. Alexandra entered the room and Carlos followed behind her. They were quiet as they walked and all eyes were on her, watching her every movement. From the way she walked and from how her hair swayed from side to side. She looked graceful, pretty, beautiful, and elegant for a kid. She was like a doll in their eyes but what caught their attention was the color of her hair and eyes. As well as her resemblance with the emperor and his wife along with their sons.

Soon, murmurs and whispers arise.

"Who is that girl?"

"Have you seen that kid before?"

"She looks so familiar,"

"Doesn't she look like the empress?"

"She also looks like Prince Christian and his brothers except that her face looked gentle just like Prince Christian,"

"Woah, she's pretty,"

"She looks like a doll,"

"She doesn't look like a servant for me,"

"Is that the one who will be introduced to us by His Highness?"

"Why does it feels like I saw her before?"

Their whispers and murmurs were quite inaudible for Alexandra's ears but Alexander and the knights were able to hear it clearly. Christian didn't pay attention to what they were staring at just waited for Alexandra to arrive by his side so that they can introduce her to them. Alexandra eventually arrived beside Christian and her father, she was standing in between them. However, the whispers and murmurs didn't even die down so Lysander spoke in a cold tone of voice, "Silence. His highness is about to speak, show respect," Was what he said and that made them all shut up. In just a second, the room immediately went silent. That amazed Alexandra, just some simple words were able to shut them up. Well, who wouldn't be? Knowing them, they are scarier than death itself especially Lysander, the captain of the royal knights, and the emperor.

"This might shock you and you wouldn't believe me at first but this little girl beside me is my daughter," There was no change of tone in her father's voice even while he was saying that. It was like he was saying something very simple but what he said at the end made them completely shocked. It sounded like he was joking because of his dead-pan voice but he really isn't, the emperor doesn't like jokes nor does he like joking. It would be a miracle if the emperor tried to crack a joke. They stiffened and some of them felt like they were struck by lightning, this was way more shocking when the empress died and the cause of death wasn't revealed to anyone.

Alexandra took the chance to introduce herself and remembered what Diana told her to do. Slightly bow yourself and hold the hem of the skirt of your dress and raise it slightly as you bow at them. Then speak in a gentle voice, "Nice to meet you. I am Alexandra Alice Elizabeth Everly," She said as she bowed, a faint and sweet smile plastered across her lips.

Then the whispers and murmurs were resurrected once again but this time, it was louder and clearer.

"Wait, is she adopted or what?"

"No wonder she looks like His Highness, the emperor, and his wife,"

"Isn't this shocking and unexpected?"

"I was just cleaning earlier but here I am,"

"How did that happen?"

"Wait, just a moment, I am completely confused,"

"It's nice to serve a little girl in this palace,"

"Shouldn't there be only males in their bloodline? How did this happen?"

"Is it really one of their genes or traits of their bloodline to be this pretty and good-looking even when they are still kids where their beauty shouldn't be blossoming yet?"

"How old is she?"

Alexandra clutched her skirt and she gulped. There were some negative comments but there were also positive ones. They are like this at first but as I get closer to them, they are really friendly and fun to be with, she recalled those words which were given to her to ease her up and to be less nervous. These reactions are normal especially for the first encounter or when it is the first time they saw her. "Silence. His Highness is going to speak, please refrain from talking or speaking. Show some respect," Lysander said.

There is already a prince, an emperor, 3 powerful knights, and the daughter of the emperor standing in front of them, Lysander thought to himself. One thing that he hates is that when others don't know how to show respect or show some manners in front of other people especially the emperor, the princes, and probably Alexandra too. "I know this might be shocking for you all of you. My wife died while giving birth to her but she wasn't the reason why she died. I don't want to hear a person saying that she was the reason why my wife died," He said.

Although he also blamed Alexandra before when his wife died but that was before, it was already from the past. He regretted and realized his mistakes that's because his mistakes were part of the reason why his sons were acting like what they are right now, so now he is trying to be a proper father. Aside from that, the council also scolded him about it and he made a promise with someone. Alexander spoke once again, "There isn't no prophecy nor was it written that there should only be males in my family bloodline. For hundreds of years, our bloodline only gave birth to males and this was the first time a female was born, however, that doesn't mean she is a curse or she will bring bad luck,"

"Not a single person who was close with Alexandra were harmed nor were they given some sort of curse or bad luck. That is all. I hope you will get along with her. I need to leave now and I am going to leave them behind since I still have many things to do, try to get along with her as I do so. And also, I don't want you all telling everybody outside the palace about her or else you don't want something bad happening to you," Was what he said before he turned around and walked, leaving the room with Lysander. The sound of their footsteps resonated inside the room and Alexandra waited for him to completely leave.

Right, he told me that he is going to leave the room right after he told some things and I should use that time to get along with them before I either return to my palace or remain here and read books inside the library or talk with them, Alexandra thought to herself and her eyes darted at their direction. They were staring at her not knowing what to say or what to ask her.

"Uhm, Hello. Nice to meet you all," Alexandra said and showed them a nervous and awkward smile. She also doesn't know what to say in this situation. She gulped and thought: How should I get along with them? What should I ask them? Should I talk about my past or what?

This is what she was completely nervous about how to get along with them. This was harder than trying to get along with her brothers or trying to agree on the same decision with Harrison, she thought to herself letting out a sigh.
