Chapter 142 - Another Encounter (2)

As she was deep in thought, she bumped into someone making her fall backward but thanks to Carlos' quick response, he was able to catch her before she falls back to the hard ground. "Ow," Although she didn't fall to the ground, the pain and impact that she felt when she bumped into that person were enough to make her wince in pain.

"Young miss, are you okay?" Carlos asked her in a worried tone of voice and Alexandra just nodded and said, "Yes, I'm okay. Moreover, what about the one who bumped into me?" She heard a groan coming from the person in front of her who was now sitting on the ground. Along with him were multiple papers with many words written on it and books scrambled on the ground. He must be carrying that earlier before I bumped into him. Gosh, I should have been more careful, she thought to herself.

"Ugh, that hurts," It sounds like the owner of the voice was a boy. She turned her head towards that person and her warm blue eyes met cold yet enchanting green ones. "I-I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Alexandra asked her in a worried tone of voice as she approached the young boy. Yes, it was a boy. He looked like he was the same age as Harrison or Christian. What is this kid doing here? He doesn't look like a visitor or a prince because of the clothes that he is wearing, she thought to herself as she approached the boy. He was wearing a long cloak with some sort of gold designs and such. Underneath his cloak, he was wearing black pants paired with black long-sleeved polo. The last button on the top was unbuttoned giving a slight view of his collarbone and skin underneath.

His hair was red or ginger to be specific. Usually, people who have that hair color has freckles across their face. Aside from that, he is also pale but he looked pretty, beautiful, or good-looking. His eyes looked enchanting and beautiful too, although it was the same color as Diana's eyes, it was far way more different. Diana was warmer and gentler, hers looked friendly and enchanting while this boy's eyes looked cold and dead. As if he hates everything in this world and wants to just sleep and don't wake up forever. He looked annoyed about everything. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul and you can completely describe one person because of it. Aside from his eyes, his facial expression says a lot too.

Alexandra lent out her hand to help him stand but the boy just stared at it before he turned away and stood on his own, rejecting the help that Alexandra offered him. An irk mark appeared on her forehead. This kid, he could have told me so not just looking away and standing up on his own, she said inside her mind, annoyed. He was actually taller than her, probably 5 inches or so but he is still tall. Alexandra just let out a sigh and watched the boy pick all his things up. She figured that she would just help him so she did, she picked up the papers and books that were scattered near her to make the work for him faster.

"I really am sorry for bumping into you earlier, I wasn't looking ahead of me. Anyways, are you okay? You're not hurt, aren't you?" She asked him as she handed her the papers and books she was holding after he finished. "I'm fine. So if you can, please move. I am currently in the middle of a task," He said as he took the things that were on Alexandra's hand. Not even a single thank you.

"Do you need some help? You are carrying many things at once," Alexandra asked in a worried tone as she stared at the boy. The things that he was carrying were like half of his height and he might have some trouble seeing or looking at where he was going. That is probably one of the reasons why they bumped into each other, Alexandra wasn't paying attention and not looking ahead of her while this boy was carrying so many things at once that it covered his field of vision. Besides, aren't that all heavy? What type of person is making this young boy carry so many things at once?

Wait, does that mean he is one of the people who are working inside the palace? But he is way too young, he can't be a maid or a butler nor a chef or a gardener. Then why is he here? He must be one of the caretakers of the library but I never heard of that job here inside this palace. Usually, the maids are the ones who clean and take care of their library and her family's library. She was thinking so many things at once as she stared at him.

"No, thank you. I can handle all of this by myself. So if you may get out of my path or I am going to bump into you again," He said, his tone of voice clearly annoyed as he spoke to her. He probably doesn't know me, this is the first time that someone spoke to her like that. Alexandra just let out a sigh before she stepped aside. "Now the, if you may excuse me," He said before he started walking.

"Be careful as you walk," Alexandra said as she watched him walk away from them. He didn't even respond to her. That's quite refreshing and new, she thought to herself and she shrugged. "Are you okay, young miss? Wasn't he too rude to you? Should I tell your father about this? Based on his uniform and how he is freely walking around while carrying so many things and got some tasks to do, he must be working inside this palace," Carlos asked in a worried tone of voice as he approached Alexandra.

"No, it's fine. He probably doesn't know me but that's okay. Anyways, do you know him? Do you know what might be his job or work here inside the palace? I am curious about it, he looked young as if he was the same age as Brother Christian," Alexandra said as she turned around, meeting Carlos' worried gaze. "I really don't know, young miss. That's just the first time that I saw him here. He must be a palace wizard or healer, a talented one to be exact. Since only palace wizards and healers only wear that kind of cloaks here," Carlos responded and shrugged.

"Really?" Alexandra let out a sigh before she spoke once again. "I am going to my father's office and after that, I am going to the library to see Brother Christian," Alexandra said and started walking as Carlos silently followed behind her. Many thoughts were running inside her head as she walked to the office of her father. Including the one which bothered her the most, the person that Sir Friyedor was going to introduce to her. It has been 3 weeks, 3 damn weeks yet no signs of a new person.

She bumped into a few people which she just saw or talked to yet they are either maids, knights, or the gardeners. Not even her father or her knight has a clue on who that person will be.

This is frustrating and annoying yet exciting at the same time, she thought to herself as she sighed and just walked silently.

--

It took them 10 minutes to arrive at the office. Upon arriving there, Carlos knocked on the door three times as Alexandra smoothened out the wrinkles on her dress and fixed her hair to make herself look presentable as much as possible. There might be a visitor or someone waiting inside there and it would be rather embarrassing if someone saw her in such a state.

"Come in," They heard a voice coming from the inside and Carlos held the knob of the door before he twisted it as he gently swung the door open, revealing the insides of the room. As usual, her father was sitting behind the desk while reading some of the papers in his left hand while holding a pen and signing a paper with his right hand. How does he even do that? She thought to herself and finds it amazing. He must be used to it already but being an emperor must be really tired and exhausting. I wouldn't want to be an empress or a queen, maybe I'll just live a commoner's life but if I ended up marrying a prince or a noble, that would be really impossible to happen.

"Papa, are you busy right now?" She asked his father and grabbed his attention, making him lift his head up and look at her. "Yes, what is it? Are you going to ask me something? Don't worry, the tea party will still be continued later. I just need to finish these paper works before the afternoon," Her father responded and continued to sign and read the papers in front of him. "Nothing really, I just came here to visit and see what you are doing," Alexandra said and smiled at him. Maybe I should leave then, she thought to herself.

Before she was able to speak once again, her father did it first and interrupted what she was about to say to him. "You can take a sit and sleep on the couch there, that won't bother me at all," He said as he put down the papers he was holding and signed on it. Alexandra looked at the couch near her and thought, since I am tired from walking around earlier, maybe I should really take a rest first before I go to the library. She was about to walk towards the couch when they heard the door slammed open, startling the people inside the room including her.

"Claude!"

Alexandra almost cursed out loud but thankfully, she didn't. She whipped her head towards the door behind her where the direction of the voice came from, her father looked at the person who just entered the room and couldn't help but sigh as he saw who the person was. My peaceful moment has been ruined, he thought to himself and looked at the man with an annoyed and cold expression as if he wants him to vanish or disappear but the person wasn't scared.

"Sir Friyedor, I already told you many times to knock on the door before you enter. You scared the hell out of us," Her father said as he loses his calm and relaxed composure. "Yeah, yeah. But look, my disciple finally returned from his mission or task. By the way, where's your daughter? Alexandra?" He asked, his tone of voice lacing with excitement as he grinned widely. His grin beaming with joy. "I'm right here," Alexandra responded and raised her hand which grabbed his attention.

"Great timing! Let me introduce to you, my lovely disciple who you are going to be friends with!" A boy suddenly entered. An annoyed expression was plastered across his pale and small face as if he doesn't want to be here or he was just dragged here by the man beside him who looked excited and happy. He looked like he badly wants to leave or just disappear from this world.

Cold and Enchanting Green eyes, a cloak with gold designs and such, black pants and a polo shirt, red-headed. Eh? Alexandra looked shocked and confused as she stared at the boy in front of her.

"Meet Arthur, he is my disciple. He might be stingy and cold at first but he is kind and friendly," Sir Friyedor said as he smiled widely at Alexandra who was still staring at the boy with a shocked and confused expression on her face.

Isn't this the boy that I bumped into earlier in the garden? Don't tell me, he is the one that I am going to be friends with? She thought to herself, unbelievable.
