Chapter 143 - Another Encounter (3)

Before she was able to speak once again, her father did it first and interrupted what she was about to say to him. "You can take a sit and sleep on the couch there, that won't bother me at all," He said as he put down the papers he was holding and signed on it. Alexandra looked at the couch near her and thought, since I am tired from walking around earlier, maybe I should really take a rest first before I go to the library. She was about to walk towards the couch when they heard the door slammed open, startling the people inside the room including her.

"Claude!"

Alexandra almost cursed out loud but thankfully, she didn't. She whipped her head towards the door behind her where the direction of the voice came from, her father looked at the person who just entered the room and couldn't help but sigh as he saw who the person was. My peaceful moment has been ruined, he thought to himself and looked at the man with an annoyed and cold expression as if he wants him to vanish or disappear but the person wasn't scared.

"Sir Friyedor, I already told you many times to knock on the door before you enter. You scared the hell out of us," Her father said as he loses his calm and relaxed composure. "Yeah, yeah. But look, my disciple finally returned from his mission or task. By the way, where's your daughter? Alexandra?" He asked, his tone of voice lacing with excitement as he grinned widely. His grin beaming with joy. "I'm right here," Alexandra responded and raised her hand which grabbed his attention.

"Great timing! Let me introduce to you, my lovely disciple who you are going to be friends with!" A boy suddenly entered. An annoyed expression was plastered across his pale and small face as if he doesn't want to be here or he was just dragged here by the man beside him who looked excited and happy. He looked like he badly wants to leave or just disappear from this world.

Cold and Enchanting Green eyes, a cloak with gold designs and such, black pants and a polo shirt, red-headed. Eh? Alexandra looked shocked and confused as she stared at the boy in front of her.

"Meet Arthur, he is my disciple. He might be stingy and cold at first but he is kind and friendly," Sir Friyedor said as he smiled widely at Alexandra who was still staring at the boy with a shocked and confused expression on her face.

Isn't this the boy that I bumped into earlier in the garden? Don't tell me, he is the one that I am going to be friends with? She thought to herself, unbelievable. Silence surrounded them as nobody dared to speak for a minute, Alexandra doesn't know what to say in this situation. It was awkward since they just bumped into each other and it turns out that he is the one who she is going to be friends with. I should tell my name in this situation, right? Right? She asked herself and was about to clear her throat before she speak when she heard someone's voice coming from behind her.

"What are you planning to do, you old man? Introducing my daughter to your disciple, you are not planning anything, aren't you?" It came from her father, he sounded annoyed and irritated as he approached her from behind. His shadow overcasting her and suddenly, she felt two strong arms wrap around her small figure. Alexandra felt being picked up by someone who startled her.

"Oh my dear grandson, why are you being like this to me?" Was what Sir Friyedor responded, acting like he was hurt as he wiped his imaginary tears in his eyes but her father just looked at the man, an annoyed and disgusted look across his face. Sir Friyedor felt chills down his spine as he saw that look on Alexander's face. He regained his composure and cleared his throat before he spoke, "Kiddings, aside. I am not planning anything bad. I just felt pity for your daughter for not having a friend who is the same age as her and would just stay inside the palace. I just thought about my disciple who I am also babysitting at the same time, he doesn't have friends and he doesn't know how to communicate so that's why," Was what he said as he smiled widely. His grin was beaming with joy and Alexandra just stared at him while she was in the arms of her father.

"One more word about me and I am not doing tasks for you anymore," The young boy beside him said. A dead look displayed on his face. Ah, he doesn't want to be here. He was probably forced to come here, poor him, she thought to herself as she felt pity for him. "Gah! So rebellious and scary," Friyedor said. For someone who is already over 100 years old, he doesn't act like one. Rowan was probably more mature than him but I think his personality is quite interesting.

Alexander didn't say anything and just stared at Friyedor as if he was waiting for the next thing that he will say. "Well, you have nothing to worry about, I am not planning to engage him with her because first of all, that's impossible. Even though Arthur is the son of a Duke, I know that you won't agree to it. But even if they happened to be together, Alexandra would be a noblewoman and not a princess anymore. Living a life as a princess would be more fun than being one of the Elders," He said and let out a sigh. Would he like to switch positions with me instead? Alexandra thought to herself as she heard his last sentence. He looks like he wants to be a princess rather than be one of the Elders.

Alexander just hummed. "What do you say, Alexandra? Are you okay with it? You can decline if you want to," Her father asked her as he looked down on her, he was still holding her tightly in his arms as if he was being an overprotective father. Isn't that just cute? What a great development, to be honest. Alexandra stared at her father for a few moments before he looked at the boy, he was playing with his fingers as if he was nervous and anxious while he waited for his response. Despite the dead and annoyed look on his face, he looked like he wants to become friends with her and is anxious about it.

"It's fine with me. Besides, I think it would be more fun if I have a friend who is near my age," Alexandra responded and smiled at her father, her smile beaming brightly as her gaze was filled with joy. Her father just hummed and nodded as he smiled back at her but it was just a faint and subtle one, it was hard to notice but her father's expression was a soft and gentle one. As if he was also happy about her.

"Then I'm leaving her in your care. Get along with her," Her father said before he put Alexandra down his arms.

--

Her plans of going to the library and talk with her brother who was probably still reading were now gone. She was now walking around the garden once again along with Sir Friyedor's disciple, he looked pretty young for a disciple. He is probably talented or powerful.

Carlos remained at the entrance of the garden as they just let the two children walk around together so that it would not be awkward for them and they would be natural with each other. It would probably be really awkward if Carlos was still tagging along behind them so he made the right choice to stay behind. But still, nobody dared to speak. They were just silent the whole time as they were walking around the garden. He looks like a silent-type person who rarely talks and Alexandra can't think of anything, she doesn't know what to talk about.

Oh, right, I should probably ask him this first. "Your name is Arthur, right?" Alexandra said as she stopped from her tracks and turned around to face him, a smile was plastered across her face again. That made the boy stop from his tracks too and look at her for a few seconds before he hummed and nodded. "I see, I am Alexandra. I am an Everly," Alexandra said, the way she spoke her last sentence was proud and happy. Unlike before, she is afraid and unsure to tell anyone if she is an Everly or not. Arthur just hummed.

"How old are you?" Alexandra asked him in a curious tone of voice. "9," He responded. "Huh? Then shouldn't you be at the academy or are you going to enter next year? My brothers entered the academy when they were 10 and I think Brother Christian would enter too at that age," Alexandra asked.

"There is no need. I already learned the basics and almost all of the lessons there. I am currently under training by Sir Friyedor, he is the one who is teaching and training me. I am basically a palace wizard under training who is also a candidate to be an Elder. The people in my family and bloodline are all powerful when it comes to magic even the females," He responded in a nonchalant tone of voice and Alexandra couldn't help but be amazed as what she just heard.

"Wait, it's possible for people like you who haven't graduated from the academy to be a palace wizard and candidate to be an Elder?" Alexandra asked. "If you have the talent to do so. That old ma—I mean, Sir Friyedor saw some talent and potential in me and decided to take me as his disciple. I wonder why it isn't my older brother who is obviously more powerful than me when it comes to magic," He said and shrugged right after he spoke.

"That's amazing! You must be very amazing and talented," Alexandra said, there were sparkles in her eyes. It felt like stars were living inside it, twinkling. Her smile turned into a wide grin, her face beaming with joy and excitement. The boy's eyes widened in surprise and he averted his gaze away from her, his cheeks slightly being tainted with red. "It's nothing, really. It just because of my family genes and how I was trained even when I was still a child. There is nothing to be amazed about it," He said as he turned his head away from her as if he was hiding his blush on his face when Alexandra could clearly see it.

Cute, she thought to herself.

It seems like I have encountered another Tsundere.
