I hope he isn't busy. She closed her eyes and thought about Harrison. She imagined or thought of what Harrison looked like, he said that in order to communicate with him through the mind successfully I should think about him first. She was seconds away to communicating with him through telepathy when she heard a voice coming from her side making her jolt her eyes open and she whipped her head towards the direction of the voice.
"What are you thinking?"
Her eyes were wide because of the surprise and her heart was beating fast that it feels like it's going to jump out of her rib cage any time soon. She saw a pair of crimson red eyes that looked like were glowing and raven black hair that resembled the sky during the night. His back was being illuminated by the moonlight which passed through the windows. He looked like breathtaking and handsome, like an angel who descended upon Earth but at that moment when she realized who it was, she wanted to curse the person beside her.
"Harrison." She muttered his name underneath her breath, barely audible to his ears. He appeared when I was about to call him, that's great because that saved me a lot of time. But I am still not used with him appearing out of nowhere inside my room, he almost gave me a heart attack, goodness. "What? Couldn't you just enter normally? Like through the balcony door or something and then knock before you enter," Alexandra said in an annoyed tone of voice and she let out a sigh right after. No matter how many times she tell him that, he won't even listen and will just do whatever he wants.
"Well, I thought you were still asleep and I was planning to give you something," He said in his usual boring tone of voice. Unlike before where he looked like a zombie and he just went through war alone, he looked much better now. It seems like he was able to rest for a long time without being bothered by Elise.
Harrison shrugged and he walked towards a random chair and dragged it besides Alexandra's bed, the screeching sound the chair made as it was being dragged resonated inside the room and it rang inside Alexandra's ears. It sounds so loud inside this quiet room of hers. "Carry the chair, won't you? What if Carlos heard it? He has good ears and his hearing is sharp," Alexandra said. She looked like a mother scolding her son and as usual, Harrison didn't listen to her and just continued to drag it.
"Don't worry, I coated the whole room with a barrier. The sounds or noises that we made here inside won't be heard outside and carrying it is a pain. If I use magic to carry it, it would just be a waste of mana," He said and he took a seat from the chair that he just dragged and placed beside Alexandra's bed. He leaned back on his chair and he crossed his legs, looking at Alexandra without saying anything. "By the way, you said that you have something to give to me, what is it?" Alexandra asked him with a curious tone of voice, her eyebrows were knitted. She was curious and excited at the same time about what he will give her. The excitement was seen on her gaze and the curiosity was written all over her face. She looked like a puppy in Harrison's eyes.
Harrison let out a sigh and he threw something at her face (and god knows where he got that, he must be carrying that since earlier) and since she was caught off-guarded she wasn't able to dodge and it hit her face. Bull's eye. Ow, my nose, she thought and whined in pain. The thing that he threw her, it was hard like a rock and it hit her nose. This hurts more than your phone falling straight to your face because you accidentally let go of it. It was a paper bag and something heavy and hard must be inside, it fell to her lap.
"Couldn't you just give it to me properly?" Alexandra said in an annoyed tone of voice as she rubbed her nose. Harrison didn't answer her and just remained silent. Nevertheless, she still picked the paper bag and stared at it for a few seconds before she shook it trying to guess what is inside. It's rectangular, heavy, and thick. A book..?
"Is this a book?" Alexandra asked him, her eyebrows furrowed. "Why don't you open it so you will know what is inside instead of guessing what it is?" Harrison said in his usual monotonous tone of voice. Jeez, why is he so sassy? He must still be tired and sleepy, she thought to herself as she opened the paper bag. Her guess was correct and as soon as she opened the paper bag and took a peek inside, she knew it was a book. But why a book? It has been so long since he has given me a book? Why suddenly give me one now? She thought to herself.
She didn't look at Harrison and just stared at the cover of the book. The border and designs of it was elegant and the book looked expensive. She read the title and it was just one word: Magic.
Just by that one word, she immediately what the book will be about and her eyes widened. She lifted her gaze and looked at Harrison, her eyes still wide as if she couldn't believe what he just gave her. She can't find the right words to say so she just stared at Harrison. "What? Don't you like it? Well, that was expensive and hard to find since books that teaches you about magic are rare," Harrison said when he saw her reaction and noticed that she just remained silent while staring at him for a long time. Alexandra shook her head and she smiled at Harrison, her eyes closing at the process. "N-No, I was just really shocked and confused. Thank you for giving me this, I really need it," Alexandra said as she smiled at him.
"Well, you said that someone is teaching you about magic since you want to learn. Although the book doesn't teach you the spells, it tells you the basic things that you need to know," Harrison said and placed his chin on top of his palm which was being propped up the chair's arm. Right, she told him that a few days ago when he came by to visit again. "You remembered that? Well, my mana is still not fully developed yet and because of that I won't be able to chant or use spells. I still have to learn the basics," Alexandra said and right after she spoke, they fell into silence. Silence conquered the whole room as nobody spoke after and it was awkward.
Is he still not going to leave yet? But I am still not sleepy yet, what should we talk about? Well, I already asked him about Elise when he came by to visit before and he said that it's slightly getting better. Harrison went through so many things as he was teaching Elise. I hope that Arthur is not having a hard time teaching me too, she thought to herself and she let out a sigh. Well, Arthur probably has a lot of patience and I am a fast learner too. I wonder how Harrison is when he teach. He probably is a strict yet lazy one.
-- "By the way, do you know any man with the name 'Harrison'?"
Sir Friyedor's voice rang inside her head and she remembered the things that happened earlier at her father's office. Memories from earlier came rushing inside her mind.
-- "As a gift, I am going to read your palm. My mother was once a fortune teller and I inherited some of her skills although I am not as good as her when it comes to these things but I can try," Friyedor said. Alexandra hesitated but still decided to show him her palms. It was true that his mother is a fortune-teller and he probably inherited her skills. However, it was weird why he suddenly wanted to read her palm. Nevertheless, she still agreed and did what she was asked to. He stared at Alexandra's palm and held her hands. He looked like a real fortune-teller, I wonder if he watched his mother do it too. He probably copied how she did it.
"I see. Something good is bound to happen for you, young miss. I don't know when but I'm sure it is going to happen any time soon. There might be obstacles on the way but I am sure you can overcome it, you just don't have to give up and have faith in yourself," He said as he nodded repeatedly while he stared and held both of her hands. He gently let go of it after he spoke. "By the way, do you know any man with the name 'Harrison'?" When she heard his question and the name that he mentioned, her eyes widened in surprise. The confusion was written all over her face.
The man saw his reaction and couldn't help but grin. "Y-Yes," Alexandra still responded, nevertheless. "So my guess is correct, I shall take my leave now. I still have things to do. It was nice talking to you, Claude and young miss," He said and with just a blink of an eye, he disappeared.
"Alexandra?" Her train of thoughts were interrupted when she heard a voice coming from her side. She snapped out of her thoughts as she was pulled back to reality, she turned her head to the side and saw Harrison staring at her. The expression on his face was boring as usual. "What were you thinking? You had a serious look on your face," He said in a nonchalant voice yet curiosity laced his tone.
Alexandra didn't answer his question and decided to respond with another question. Her voice was low and it sounded like a whisper but since it was quiet and nobody was speaking during that time except for her, he was able to hear it clearly.
"Do you know Sir Friyedor?" Alexandra stared at him and watched his expression to see if it changed yet nothing happened. He was still staring at her with that usual expression and it looked like he knows nothing. He probably doesn't know him but how does Sir Friyedor know Harrison? I'm confused, she thought to herself and it feels like there were spirals in her head. The more I think about, the more confused I get.
"W-Why do you ask?" Ah, he stuttered.
His voice faltered and his tone changed, he cleared his throat afterwards. So he does know him. Even though he didn't answer with a yes or no, she was still able to know what the answer to that question is. Although his expression didn't change, his voice did. "Earlier, he asked if he can read my palm and I agreed then right after reading my palm, he said some things about something good will happen to me and I need to have faith in myself. Then right after that, he suddenly asked me a question. He asked me I know a name whose name is Harrison and I immediately thought of you," Alexandra said.
Harrison just remained silent and it looked like he isn't going to say something. Alexandra let out a sigh before she asked him, "Are you acquaintances with him? How did you knew each other? How old are you? Who really are you?" Alexandra started to attack him with multiple questions, she was confused and curious. She wants him to answer that immediately. Harrison, however, just let out a sigh before he stood up from his seat and went near Alexandra.
With the use of his index and middle finger, he pressed Alexandra's forehead gently and let it remain there for a few seconds as he spoke. "You must be tired, go to sleep," He said and Alexandra's eyes widened. "W-What are you going to…" Alexandra's voice trailed off as she suddenly fell backwards on her bed, her eyes were already closed and her features softened. She relaxed from her position and her breathing was regular. Alexandra fell asleep. He withdrew his hand and it fell to his sides.
"Someday, I'm going to answer all of your questions without lying. But it's still early," Harrison said as if he was talking to Alexandra when she was already asleep before he placed the chair back on its original place before he left her room.
