Chapter 156 - Appreciation and Care (10)

Alexandra made her way towards the main entrance of the palace while Carlos followed her behind. She was on her way towards the place where they will wait for her brothers to arrive and greet them. She was feeling anxious and excited at the same time, this was the first time that she will greet her brothers. It was entirely different when she was going to greet the 1st Prince and King of the Luminaria Kingdom. She was wearing a simple yet elegant looking dress, it was a red one and it complimented her hair which was tied half-up. In that way, she looked presentable and comfortable at the same time.

Being good-looking and beautiful must be normal for Alexandra's bloodline, all of her brothers were handsome as well as her father, she can't deny that. Even though she still hasn't seen her mother, based on the description that Dina gave her about her mother, she must be really beautiful then. Aside from that, she was able to capture my father's heart who is as cold as ice and as dense as stone. Love and the things that it could do to a person, she thought to herself and she let out a sigh.

Come to think of it, she probably still hasn't fallen in love with a person yet, not even in her past life. She didn't even have her first kiss yet and she was a virgin. Well, she is still young during that time and she was having a hard time living. It would just add up to her problems if she would date someone and get pregnant would be troublesome.

Well, she is still not sure about that yet as she was already having a hard time trying to remember some memories from her past especially the one when she was at the orphanage. There should have been plenty of memories since she spent 5 years living there, how come she doesn't recall anything? That was probably one of the greatest mysteries of her life, nevertheless, there is probably nothing good there that happened that's why her mind just decided to forget it.

Moving on, Harrison didn't answer any of her questions yesterday night. After touching her forehead, she suddenly felt drowsy and sleepy all of a sudden although she was sure that she was wide awake during that time. It was hard to fall asleep. He must have used a spell during that time, she thought to herself and was annoyed. She was curious about it that's why she decided to ask him that yet he avoided it by casting a spell on her which makes her fall asleep.

Well, it's not like I want him to answer those questions immediately. I was just curious about it. I couldn't just force someone to reveal everything when he is trying his best to hide it. Everyone has their own privacy and secrets to keep. It was better than him altering my memories and making it seem like I asked another question and he answered it or I fell asleep while talking to him. He is probably trying to tell me that he is still not ready to answer those questions and the right time will come. It's not like I'm rushing anyways.

Everything about Harrison was a mystery to me. A case that can't be solved. I was like a detective trying to solve a murder case, an impossible and hard one. Not even a trace or a clue was left behind, it was all covered up. I don't know his real age, when his birthday is, where he came from, who his parents are. I think I only know his name. Yet he knows everything about me except for my past life which I kept a secret, she thought to herself and once again, she let out a sigh.

While she was lost on her thoughts, she didn't notice that they already arrived at the main entrance of the palace not until Carlos called out to her name and grabbed her attention, telling her that they are already here and she shouldn't space out while walking. "Young miss, we are already here," Was what Carlos said and Alexandra snapped from her thoughts. "You shouldn't space out while walking, you might trip because you weren't paying attention to your surroundings. You might ruin your dress if that happens," Carlos added. Well, the young miss has always been like that. It seems like she is always thinking every single second even while she is eating.

"You don't have to worry about anything, Carlos. I am completely aware of my surroundings even when I am in daze or spacing out," Alexandra said and she turned her head back to smile at Carlos who just let out a sigh and smiled back. After that, she looked ahead of her and saw two lines of people. They were wearing almost the same uniforms except that the nights and butlers were wearing different ones. Woah, never knew that greeting and welcoming my brothers back would be this grand. Well, they are princes anyways, the sons of the emperor of a powerful country who also rules over 10 kingdoms, members of a powerful bloodline who is supposedly composed of males only.

Well, that doesn't matter anyway since almost everyone working here inside the palace has already accepted her as one of the members of the Everly Bloodline and is the daughter of the emperor. Even father accepted and started treating me like one. Well, I could say the same to my brothers but it was hard trying to get along with them but I won't give up, she thought to herself. Unlike before where she is conscious of herself that she was born in this bloodline where there is the only male, she was starting to get used to it and accepted it already. Even though I might not be powerful when it comes to magic and combat, I have the brains and beauty, she thought to herself. She is just stating facts and she is not being arrogant.

Moving on, she bought the things that she needs—The gifts that she is going to give her brothers. Carlos insisted on carrying it so Alexandra just let him carry it. A fictional book was written by a female writer, Lorraine Wester. Her books are all good and her writing style was completely different from other writers. Alexandra read all of her books already since the library back at her palace had each one of her books yet the library at her father's palace didn't have a single one of her books. She probably isn't that famous. Well, almost all underrated writers write good books, even underrated artists in her previous life makes great songs and great lyrics.

She guessed that Gilbert probably still haven't read a single one of her books yet and decided to give one to him. As usual, an artifact for Chandler and sweets for her eldest brother, Calixander. I hope they all will like it, she thought to herself.

As Alexandra was walking, she heard a voice calling out to her name and grabbed her attention. "Young miss, Alexandra!" The voice sounded loud and familiar. Alexandra turned her head towards the direction where the voice came from and saw Rowan waving at her. As usual, there was his wide grin on his face, his eyes closing in the process, and he was being surrounded by the other palace wizards. Yet his gentle and bubbly demeanor didn't change at all. She only met a few of them and it seems like some of them already came back from their adventure although there are still only a few. They were wearing a cloak just like the others but the palace healers would wear a coat rather than a cloak.

(I still haven't described what Rowan looked like as well as Isabella, I forgot about that)

His green hair swayed along with the wind and his eyes that were also the same color as his hair was dazzling and shining like gems. His glasses glinted for a moment as Alexandra approached her. "Are you also here to welcome your brothers and greet them when they arrive?" Rowan asked her as she stopped in front of him. Alexandra smiled back and she nodded, "Yes. This is the first time that I will greet and welcome them back. I am quite nervous and excited," Alexandra responded with a smile on her face. Her usual gentle tone of voice didn't change as she spoke. Since he was the palace's healer, as a head one or something, he was near the front of the line. Besides the knights while the maids and butlers were on the other end of the line.

The maids were standing on the right line and the butlers were standing on the left side, they were facing each other. Although they were only a few butlers and there were more maids, that's why some of the maids were standing on the other side so that the lines would be equal. No wonder Alexandra only sees a few butlers walking around the palace. They were only less than 15 of them while the maids were more than 20. It's not like she cares anyway since most of the males were working here as either Palace wizards (or healers) or as knights.

"There is nothing that you need to be nervous about. Although, I admit that you can't help but get excited to see them after they were gone for three months," Rowan replied back and as if on cue, right after he spoke, Isabella arrived and placed her arm around his shoulders. "Here you go again, getting ahead of us. What were you talking about with the young miss, huh?" Isabella said as she placed her arm around his shoulders. If it were from another person's view, it looked like they were a couple. A married one to be exact because of their mature look. Isabella's vibrant red hair and brown eyes were an unusual combination yet it suited her wild and carefree look. As usual, she was being surrounded by a bright and cheerful aura.

I ship them, Alexandra couldn't help but think about this. She admits, they are close with each other and they are comfortable around each other. Well, she finds it funny when they suddenly start insulting each other but it gets awkward as she doesn't know how to stop them. Nevertheless, she finds their insults rather creative and funny. Well, it's good since they completely don't hate each other and they don't curse.

"How are you doing, young miss? Were you having a hard time getting along with the maids? Tell me and I will talk to them for you," Isabella said. Right, I forgot that she was a head maid, Alexandra thought to herself and she just smiled at Isabella before she responded, "It's completely fine. I am getting along with them well, you don't have to worry about anything," Was what Alexandra said.

"Oh, it seems like his highness, the emperor, has already arrived. You have to go to his side now, young miss. It was nice talking with you," Rowan said and she bid goodbye to Alexandra as he smiled. "Although we only talked and just greeted each other, it was still nice talking with you. Since I am always busy with my duties, I rarely get to see you every day," Isabella said and she removed the arm that she placed around Rowan's shoulders. She smiled at Alexandra and she smiled back. "I, too, also had a nice time. I will be going now," Alexandra said and she started walking towards the end of the line, where the maids and butlers are. Her father, along with his personal knight, was standing and talking with each other but it seems like only her father was the only one talking.

"A pleasant morning, papa," Alexandra greeted her father and she smiled at her father who turned around and met her gentle gaze. He just nodded and greeted her back, "A pleasant morning to you too, Alexandra," Her father said and Alexandra just smiled before she walked towards his side and stood still.

As if on cue, they heard a loud voice telling them:

"The princes' carriage has arrived!"
