Chapter 204 - First Princess (1)

I had a dream. Again.

But this time it wasn't two ladies arguing with each other as they protected a child but it was a female and its daughter. Alexandra recognizes the lady by only its voices and when she heard it, there was tightening feeling in her chest and she couldn't help but clutch that part where it hurts the most, her heart. It was her mother, talking to her. The way that she spoke and her tone was completely like her.

"How did you interpret the story?" Her voice was gentle and soothing like her favorite song that she always listens to. Oh, how she longed to hear that voice again especially in her current life. It was like a melody, a song that she has been looking for and when she founds it, she wants to listen to it non-stop.

Thanks to her family in her current life and the people around her along with the things that are happening to her, she would forget about her miserable past life.

"What story?" Alexandra asked her in a curious tone of voice. She was neither in the child form of her previous life nor was she in her child's appearance or form of her current life. She was taking on the appearance of her previous life when she was around 16 years old as she talked with her mother in this dream. It doesn't feel like a dream at all in the first place. It was much more vivid than that dream she had before but can't remember as soon as she woke up.

"That one your maid told you about, the girl trapped on the tower with only the boy visiting her secretly. How did you think it ended? Did the girl escape all by herself or was she still trapped in that tower all alone because the boy didn't come to save her?" That one story where Alexandra and Harrison fought about as they have different interpretations and different opinions that they want to defend or something.

"I don't know, I don't understand the story at all. How did you know that?"

The fact that she knows that is quite unusual for her because first of all, it was Diana who told her about that story, her mother was the one who told her about it and she passed the story to Alexandra. And...

She doesn't exist in this world.

Do you get my point? How come does she know some things about her in this current life when she isn't here in the first place? That was unusual and confusing for her. Alexandra leaned forward and huddled her knees close to her chest, placing her chin on top of it, her lips forming into a small pout. She wasn't talking to her face-to-face, she was behind the tree that she was leaning on and she only heard her voice but didn't saw her face.

Just like that one dream of a female who is singing behind the tree and before she even gets to see her face, she would wake up.

However, she only heard a giggle coming from the other side of the tree which came from her mother's mouth.

"Don't underestimate mothers, they know everything."

Alexandra's eyes widened for a brief moment before her features softened and she hugged her knees tighter to her chest. Right, she was talking to her mother. She could see through her like glass and read her like an open book. She just decided not to think why and how she knew those. What's important is that she gets to hear her mother's voice again.

"What's your interpretation of the ending?"

"Well, I guess, the girl escaped all by herself because the boy was killed and lived on, she had a wonderful life and her curse was removed. She even had a wonderful daughter who she wants to protect. She didn't forget about the boy, of course."

"That just completely sounds like you."

"We have different interpretations. What's your ending?"

That completely sounds like she was asking her how she would live on her life instead of what happened to the girl in the story. Alexandra spoke in a gentle voice and low voice as if she was unsure by her response.

"I don't know. Maybe the boy arrived and he was able to save and take her away from that tower. Dying together would be wonderful, isn't it?"

"That would be romantic, dying while holding hands when you two are already old enough."

And she heard some sort of shuffles and rustles coming from the other side of the tree, it seems like her mother stood up or something but she just remained still in her position, still huddling her knees close to her chest while resting her chin on top of her knees.

"You hold such tremendous power."

"What do you mean?"

"You'll know when the time comes. But when that arrives, I want you to use that power for yourself, for the people you love. I don't want you to use it to destroy, to kill. It might destroy you but I want you to control it."

"I don't understand what you're saying."

"As I said, you'll understand it when that time comes. I just want you to listen and follow my advice."

I don't understand at all. I don't understand, I don't have such tremendous or scary powers. I'm just an ordinary girl who was born as the emperor's daughter, she thought to herself and resisted the urge to say that and just nodded her head as a response to what she said. A shadow was cast over her figure and she knew that her mother was standing in front of her.

"Don't look up. Just stay like that."

It feels like she has read what she wanted to do when she noticed that she was standing in front of her.

"You're tired, right?"

"I'm not."

"I know that you are but you are having fun because of them, because of those people around you."

Alexandra didn't say anything and just looked at the ground underneath her. Her mother told her to not look up, so she just remained still with her head down low as she listened to what her mother was saying. She doesn't know what kind of tired does she mean, physically tired or emotionally tired?

"You did well. Too bad I wasn't able to see you grow up even at this life too."

Alexandra's eyebrows knitted when she heard her last sentence. Wasn't able to see me grow up even in this life? What does she mean by that? She was confused and she was about to open her mouth to speak when her mother spoke again, interrupting what she was going to say.

"Alexandra, live on, and don't forget about me. Even if I'm not there, physically, just know that I will be by your side the whole time, okay?"

And that's where she woke up from her vivid and realistic dream.

"…Lexa…Ale…Alexa!" Alexandra snapped out from her thoughts as she heard her brother's voice, she blinked multiple times as her vision took in the surroundings that she was in. She was currently inside her room with Diana and a few maids behind her fixing her hair and styling it. They were almost done and her brothers came to her room for a visit although they weren't allowed, but they are all stubborn people.

She was thinking about the dream that she had a few days ago. It was a shock that she was able to remember it even up until now when usually not a second would have passed after she woke up and she would immediately forget about it.

"Brother Chris, what is it?"

"You were spacing out since earlier while I was talking to you. Are you nervous about later?" Christian asked her in a worried tone of voice, only Gilbert and he was here while Chandler remained outside because he kept on making a ruckus with Christian which would distract the maids. Calixander and her father wasn't here and was still probably preparing for the big event that was going to happen later as soon as she got down her room.

Right, a month has already passed ever since that ball for her brother's birthday, and that only means one thing.

It was her coronation as the royal princess of this land today and she was preparing for it. She couldn't help but be excited and nervous at the same time because she have been waiting for so long but she was afraid to make mistakes, what if she tripped while making her way to that person who would place the tiara on top of her head? Aside from that, it would be held publicly which means there would be many people who will watch her walk.

"Not really, you don't have to worry about me, Brother Chris. I can manage, I think," She only responded and she noticed Diana along with the other maids behind her take a step back as they were already finished with styling her hair. It was just a simple bun with a thick strand of her hair braided on each side of her head, connecting to the low bun. And as if on cue, they also heard a loud knock coming from the outside which grabbed their attention.

"That must be Sir Klaus, it's almost time for you to go down already," Diana said and she turned her head to look at Alexandra's reflection in the mirror to give her a warm and tender smile. Alexandra smiled back before she stood up from her seat and started walking, heading towards the door of her room while her brothers followed behind her with the maids walking behind them.

And Diana was right because they heard Carlos' voice coming from the outside of the door.

"Young miss, Sir Klaus has arrived and it's time for you to go down!"

They stood in front of the door and instead of her the one opening it, Gilbert was the one who did and she smiled at him before she took a step outside and was greeted by Klaus' usual tired face. He bowed at her to show respect and said his greetings and told her that they should go down now and her brothers' personal knights are looking for them everywhere as they need to be there at the place where the coronation would be held.

Alexandra couldn't help but be nervous and excited at the same time as the thought of her finally being a crowned princess would happen.

--

Standing on the other end of the carpet that was laid out for her to walk on as she would make her way to the person who was holding the tiara in his hands as he waited for her to arrive in front of him. Alexandra gulped as she saw all of those people whose eyes were on her but she remained the gentle yet stern look on her face as she started to walk, the sound of her light footsteps being muffled by the carpet.

This wasn't just a simple walk to the other end of the carpet, the person who was waiting for her at the other end wasn't an ordinary person. That tiara that will be placed on top of her head wasn't something simple nor was it for decoration.

Walking down this carpet feels like walking down the path that I took on my own, a rocky and thorny path, and finally, I have reached the end of it but will start another journey along with the people who stayed by my whole time.

There were whispers but not many of it, most of it was positive and some of it was negative as usual but didn't make her falter or affect her as she walked. She didn't let it affect her.

Only a few steps left and she would arrive there eventually, she would finally reach its end.

And so she did, she stood in front of the man who was holding the magnificent, it was semi-circle and it looked light. However, several sparkling and shining gems and jewels were embodied in it. The one that shined the most was the red ruby in the middle, though it wasn't as big as the gem in the middle of her father's crown it still attracted her attention.

She kneeled before him and the man gently placed the tiara on her head before she lifted her head and she slowly stood up, facing the crowd of people in front of her who had gleeful look on their faces as they saw her wear the tiara that sparkled. Just that tiara gave her a title, one that would suit her and deserves.

"With the people who are present in this coronation, I crown, her majesty, Princess Alexandra Alice Elizabeth of the Everly Bloodline. The first princess of the Queenilia Empire!"

And roars were heard from the people's mouth as others clapped, they looked happy as if they accept Alexandra as the princess of this empire, and Alexandra felt a bubbly feeling inside her as she stared at them. Her lips that were pursed into a thin line finally broke out into a smile.

Throughout the Empire's history, the first female of their bloodline. She was the first princess. The sfirst-ever princess of this empire.

Are you there, mom?
