Chapter 205 - First Princess (2)

"Congratulations on your coronation, Princess Alexandra."

A woman approached Alexandra and stopped a few steps away from her as she was in the middle of talking or having a conversation with some people she doesn't know though they were the only ones talking and she would just nod and smile at what they say. Carlos was standing behind her as usual, his guard raised because something might happen to the princess like that thing that happened at the ball a month ago with the Young Lady Fiona. For insulting and accusing a member of the Royal Family, her father's rank was demoted to a Viscount, the second-lowest rank. They were even banned from attending parties where she and her family would be in.

That served as a reminder and warning to not mess with the Royal Family especially the Emperor's family. It was effective.

Alexandra turned her to the direction where the voice came from and there she saw Vivienne smiling at her while she was holding a glass of wine on one of our hands. Alexandra's face brightened when she finally saw her. She was tired of talking with these people that she doesn't know but doesn't want to say out loud or walk away from them because that would be rude. They are only there to get close to her because of her status. Alexandra turned her head around once again to face them and smiled before she spoke, "If you may excuse me."

Is what she said before she turned her heel around, her back facing them before she made her way to Vivienne. "Miss Vivienne!" She called out to her in a cheerful tone of voice as a grin was seen on her face when she stopped in front of her.

"Once again, I congratulate you for your coronation, Princess," Vivienne said in her usual gentle and sweet tone of voice as she resisted the urge to ruffle Alexandra's hair because she was wearing her tiara and that would also ruin her hairstyle if she wasn't wearing it. Alexandra wasn't used in being called 'Princess' or 'your majesty', she was used at being called with 'Young Miss' by them.

"Thank you. You arrived at the right time, I was getting tired with listening and talking to them," Alexandra said and let out a sigh, Vivienne seeing her reaction or expression just let out a soft giggle before she looked around the place like she was looking for someone or something.

"Come to think of it, where are your brothers?"

"They are at the buffet table again while Brother Calix is with my father. Brother Gil went with Brother Chan and Brother Chris because they might do something again."

"That's unusual since they always follow you around since earlier."

Well, yes they were following her around except for Calixander who was with their father and would intimidate almost everyone who would approach her even the young girls who were slightly older than her except for Gilbert because he looked carefree and nonchalant about it. It was the same reason why Carlos' guard was all up and he doesn't want to leave her side. Christian wasn't intimidating them in the way that you expect, it was because he kept on bickering with Chandler that they are afraid to approach her and when someone did, Chandler would glare at them when they would talk and Christian would have this menacing aura.

They are being way too overprotective.

To think that even Christian who was usually gentle and calm would release this menacing aura and would carefully observe that person as they stare at them which would make them feel uncomfortable. They are ruining their reputations as princes because of that though she finds it cute.

"And they would intimidate everyone though I was tired with them approaching me, I'm not talking about my brothers, I have to maintain or have a good relationship with them. They would even intimidate the girls who would approach me thinking that they were the Young Lady Fiona. Thanks to that, it's hard for me to get along and become friends with them."

"I see, I understand why you want to become friends with them."

Alexandra also wants to experience shopping and buying things with female friends and having picnics with them inside the palace because she hasn't experienced that before which is quite frustrating. Now that she has the chance, her brothers were there to intimidate them though it's cute but annoying.

"I'm glad that you understand."

"But your brothers aren't here now. Why are you still frustrated, princess?"

"They don't approach me anymore."

Alexandra's lips formed into a pout as she let out a puff of breath while she crossed her arms. Since there were only high-ranking nobles here in this event, there are only a few of them so only a few girls were seen and to think that they were driven away because Chandler and Christian would intimidate them in their Sown ways was quite frustrating. Gilbert noticed that earlier that's why he brought or somehow dragged them to the buffet table even though they weren't actually hungry.

Vivienne blinked her eyes multiple times as she stared at Alexandra before a chuckle escaped her lips once again. "Then why don't you try to approach them, princess? I'm sure that they would be happy if you were the one to do so besides, if you badly want to make friends, you should be the one who should approach them and have confidence. It's not easy to approach a princess like you," Vivienne said and Alexandra just stared at her and hummed before her lips broke out into a smile.

Well, that's true. Because of that incident that happened last month, they would always be careful about the things that they would say to her that might offend her or else they would be doomed.

It's not like Alexandra is easily offended or she cares about things like that, it's because she is a member of the Royal Family, the Emperor's daughter, and she has such frightening people who would always be there to back her up or something.

"I'll try."

--

Alexandra was making her way towards the buffet table because she was hungry, what else? She decided to eat first before she engages in war. Not literally war nor a battle, it just felt like one. After she eats, she was planning to go around and look for girls who she will approach and become friends with. She was hoping that it would be easy but knowing her, it wouldn't.

Carlos followed her behind as he insisted that he would come with her, he even said it in a straight and serious face and Alexandra has no choice but to just let him be because she knows that he was worried about her and doesn't want to happen it again. The incident with Fiona.

Believe it or not, despite her carefree and reckless personality, she finds it hard for her to make friends though she can easily talk to anyone and can hold a conversation with them. It was probably because of her previous life, she doesn't have any friends and she was living a miserable life where she would only depend on herself and herself alone. It's not easy, it never became easy.

Come to think of it, some of my co-workers would try to invite me to come with them to a bar or party or gathering but she would always decline and say that she has no money and she was busy. She works every day non-stop and the only thing that she would be thinking about was to survive and to make money, those were only her problems.

But now, she was stressing over which girl to approach and how to make friends with them. It's not that bad but to think that she was actually stressing and panicking over this kind of thing. Isn't this just normal? Since I wasn't used to approaching people and becoming friends with them? I wasn't even interested in having friends in my previous life because that would just be a waste of time or money, she thought to herself as she walked, not looking at her surroundings.

"Princess, look out!"

Eh?

Since she wasn't looking around or paying attention to her surroundings, she bumped into someone or more like, crashed into them but thankfully, Carlos was able to catch her since he was close to her before she fell to the hard ground. Carlos asked her if she was okay to which she just nodded as a response. She fixed her tiara which almost fell out of her head. Someone also caught the person who she bumped into.

"Are you okay, young lady?"

"My shoulder hurts."

Alexandra cursed inside her head and she immediately stood properly before bowing and apologizing to the person that she crashed into because of her carelessness and Carlos was startled when she suddenly did.

"I sincerely apologize, I wasn't looking and I ended up crashing into you."

"Princess, you must not lower your head easily to anyone!"

It was Carlos' voice and she immediately forgot about that not until Carlos reminded her. Nevertheless, she kept her head low for a few seconds.

"Princess?"

The person's voice who said that was confused and Alexandra lifted her head slowly, her warm and sparkling blue orbs met sharp yet beautiful purple ones. Alexandra's breath hitched when her eyes met the girl's eyes who was standing in front of her. When the girl who she crashed into realized who was standing in front of her, she was the one who had her head lowered now.

"No, it's my fault, princess. I should have been careful and noticed you. I apologize."

Alexandra just stared at her before her lips broke out into a tender smile. "I'm fine, what's your name?" Alexandra asked her in a gentle tone. She wasn't one of those girls who approached her earlier and became a victim of Chandler's glare and Christian's menacing aura. Thank god.

Asking her name is the first step in getting to know her and becoming friends with her, right? This is what Miss Vivienne told me earlier when she thought that I don't know how to do so, she thought to herself, maintaining the smile on her lips as her expression brightened. The girl in front of her lifted her head and their gazes met. Somehow, she felt like she was going to get along with her, her guts were telling her that she would. She was also having this feeling in her chest and it felt like something wants to come out of her hand. Like her mana was going on a rampage which she doesn't know why.

"My name is Francisca Maribelle of the Clementine Bloodline, your majesty."

Somehow, calling her 'your majesty' felt like there was a wall being put up in between them. Nevertheless, she still spoke and her will to become close with her remained. It felt like she was an interesting person.

"Are you Duke Tyler's daughter?"

"Yes, your majesty."

Alexandra was having a hard time keeping up a conversation with her as she was speaking formally and in a polite tone of voice. It would be weird if she immediately says that she wants to become friends with her even though they only exchanged like less than 10 messages or something.

"Do you have something to say, your majesty?"

"Ah, eh, right."

Alexandra fumbled as she played with her fingers behind her back showing that she was nervous and her eyes darted on the flower that was pinned on Maribelle's hair.

"That flower on your hair, isn't that Griciel's Orb?" She referred to the flower on her hair, it had an enchanting and beautiful look, it was similar to a daisy but it was completely different. There were thin antennas or something seen on the pistil or the center of the flower, it had multiple layers of petals like a chrysanthemum. The flower looked like it was glowing and sparkling when the light hit it. Griciel's orb is a rare flower that takes years to fully grow and bloom, it would cost you thousands (of their country's currency) just to buy a bouquet of it.

Alexandra only saw a few pictures of it in the books and never seen one personally so seeing that pinned on her hair like an ornament, she became interested and blurted that out. Her hands that were behind her fell to her sides as she calmed down.

"Y-yes, you're correct, princess. How did you know? Most people would think of it as Chrysanthemum when they don't notice the antenna-like things at the center of the flower."

"I have seen a few images of it on the books that I would be reading. I love flowers and I am interested in it that's why I read books about it. I also read books about plants that are poisonous and such."

Hearing her response, the girl's purple eyes sparkled and she immediately approached the princess at such speed and immediately held her hands. "You are also interested in flowers, princess? Though most of the girls do love flowers, they aren't that much interested in it and wouldn't read books about it, they only just admire it and say, 'Oh, look, that flower is beautiful!'"

Alexandra was slightly taken aback by her sudden actions and she wasn't able to respond immediately.

"Young Lady Maribelle, please dont touch the princess casually. That would make her uncomfortable."

"Ah, right. I forgot, I just couldn't help it. I apologize if I made you uncomfortable, your majesty."

"Ah, no, it's fine. It's totally fine."

Alexandra looked back to Carlos as if she was glaring at him but just looked ahead right after and let out a sigh. Well, it can't be helped.

"Are you also interested in botany, princess?"

"Yes but not that much. Let's have a chat in the balcony, it's rather loud here and I can't hear you properly. Is that fine with you, Miss Maribelle?"

"I'm totally fine with it, princess!"

And just like that, she made a friend. It wasn't as hard as she thought or was Maribelle that friendly? Nevertheless, she was happy.
