And so a few days after that.
Harrison met and talked with Amanda along with Maribelle and Alexandra who tagged along with them though Alexandra wasn't planning on listening to their conversation because she knows how it would go. Maribelle wasn't interested either as she already has a clue on how it will go. Amanda and Harrison were standing far away from them, talking underneath the shade of the tree as Maribelle and Alexandra were just watching them while sitting on the chairs that surrounded the table.
They were taking a sip from their cup of teas while eating the cupcakes in front of them, not caring if there wouldn't be any left for Amanda.
Alexandra just sent her a letter telling her that Harrison agreed and she should come to the palace a few days after, that's why they are here. Amanda was extremely happy and she rejoiced when she heard the news. Alexandra could only let out a sigh as she recalled what happened earlier as soon as they arrived at the palace and they went to the garden where they will have their tea party.
[An hour before this.]
"See, I told you! There's a small chance that he might agree and talk with me!" Amanda said as she let out a giggle in the end. She was skipping and it was clear that she was happy and excited. Their knights were walking behind them, silently and just watching the three girls talk to each other although it was only Amanda speaking.
Alexandra opened her mouth to speak, "Well, yeah," Was what she could only say. That's because I told him that he can't refuse, she wanted to say that but she just kept her mouth shut. Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, she looked ahead of her as they walked the corridors of the place, heading towards the garden.
They passed by multiple statues and decorations that were hanged on a wall, along with some flower vases and plants which Maribelle would stare at and try to guess what species or what is the name of that plant. It seems like she was challenging herself or trying to distract herself from Amanda who was giggling like a teenager in love. Well, she is one.
"It seems like Lady Luck is on my side today," Amanda continued, letting out a satisfied sigh in the end with her eyes sparkling while she tried to imagine the possible scenarios that will happen later if she was talking with Harrison. Alexandra only shook her head in disbelief.
"Amanda, you're there to ask help for him just to break your engagement," Maribelle reminded her, her attention was now diverted to their conversation instead of towards the plants that they walked pass by. Her hands were intertwined behind her and she held her chin high as she spoke. Alexandra was just letting her hands lightly swing as they walked.
Alexandra already called and told Harrison to come to the garden as Amanda was already here though it was through the mind. Telepathy or something. Thanks to the mark, it was quite easy for her to do it.
"Of course, I didn't forget about that! I have looked for ways on how to convince a boy in agreeing to help me."
"It seems like you're going to seduce Harrison," Maribelle fired back and she let out a sigh. Right, they still don't know that she likes Harrison, and just the thought of her friend seducing Harrison was somehow making her feel this clenching feeling in her chest.
"Something like that."
"I won't allow that," She just realized what she said after she heard it.
"What do you mean?" Amanda turned her head to look at her, confusion was written all over her face as her eyes were wide with wonder. Alexandra just smiled at her before she spoke, "I mean, isn't that bad? Harrison doesn't like being seduced or forced in doing something he doesn't want to. If he doesn't like it, he won't do it. Besides, he also has someone that he likes already, seducing him won't do anything," Alexandra said in a gentle tone of voice. Trying to overcome the nervousness that was overwhelming her.
She made it sound simple and casual so Amanda wouldn't doubt her and would become conscious of her feelings.
Besides, aren't you sixteen? How come you have the thought of seducing someone? If only they know how old Harrison is, she thought to herself. Realizing your feelings is like one of the worst things and impossible things that could happen to her. She didn't imagine that she will have feelings for someone, to be honest.
Living a cruel and sad life before, her only focus and goal were to survive the life that she is currently having. She wakes up to go to work, to make money so that she can buy the things that she needs. Mainly food and paying the rent so that she won't be kicked out and she won't live in the streets. Her co-workers were pretty carefree and would always talk about such things during their break which she finds ridiculous before and now here she is, liking someone way older than her (pretending as a child) and being confused about what she should do.
I don't know if it's a bad thing or not. I just know that Harrison likes someone else and even before I was able to confess, I was already rejected, she thought to herself as she sulked in her head. Slapping her forehead in the inside.
"I was just joking anyway," She said and pouted her lips.
And now they are here in this situation.
"Judging by the expression on Amanda's face, I think Harrison is rejecting her or something," Maribelle suddenly spoke as she munched on the cupcake that she was holding in her hand. Alexandra looked at her for a moment, taking a sip from the cup of tea that she was holding before she returned her gaze Amanda and Harrison who were talking underneath the tree.
Alexandra squinted her eyes and tried to see what kind of expression Amanda was making but she can't. It was kind of hard to see.
"It's amazing how you could tell what expression Amanda is making," Alexandra responded as she took another sip from her tea.
"I have good eyes."
"Oh, I see."
"I have somehow developed the ability to recognize people's faces from far away thanks to Arthur."
"I don't know what to say with that but congrats, I guess?"
"Thank you. Amanda is making this kind of hurt expression and she is fidgeting with her hands. Harrison looked… normal. No, he looked calm and nonchalant."
"It looks like Amanda is confessing to Harrison underneath a tree. Sounds romantic, probably," Alexandra said and Maribelle just shrugged her shoulders. Okay, it seems like Maribelle was interested, after all, she thought to herself and continued watching them. Alexandra has to squint her eyes though, trying her best to identify what kind of expressions they were making.
It was like they were this couple or duo that are insulting everyone that they see based on how they are acting right now and the look on their faces.
Alexandra was leaning back against her chair with her legs crossed and her head turned to the two's direction, holding the cup in her head while sipping on it.
Maribelle was leaning forward the table with her elbow being propped up by the surface of it, holding the cupcake with her other hand and the cup of tea placed down beside her elbow. Her gaze was nailed on the two people's direction, trying to guess how their conversation is going.
"Oh, Amanda bowed her head. It seems like their conversation has ended."
"Nah, Amanda looked like she is still asking something from Harrison," Alexandra said and took a sip from her tea once again but to find out that it was empty. She decided to avert her gaze away from them as she refilled the empty cup of tea.
But as she was doing so, her attention was grabbed by Maribelle who suddenly spoke.
"Oh, they're looking at their direction. What are they looking at? Ah, Harrison is pointing at us! Wait, Harrison is pointing at you, princess," Was what she said and Alexandra's eyebrows furrowed. She placed the teapot down the table before she turned her head to look at Amanda and Harrison's direction, curious if what Maribelle said was true.
Though she was only able to see and confirm it for a few seconds, she saw Harrison pointing at her and looking at her direction and his hands fell to his side right after that but he was still staring at her. Alexandra batted an eye at him as if she was asking, 'What are you staring at?' but he only shook his head and his gaze returned to Amanda who was still talking to him.
He just nodded his head and with that, they parted their ways.
Amanda was walking back to them with a pout on her lips, sulking.
"Got rejected, I see," Alexandra only said as she nodded her head multiple times.
"Want some cupcake?" Maribelle offered her a cupcake while she was munching one in her other hand. Amanda just shook her head as a response before she took a seat from the chair that she was occupying earlier, looking at Alexandra.
"How did it go?"
"Well, he said that he doesn't like that idea and apologized because he can't help me. Though he gave me a piece of advice. He told me to talk with that fiancée of mine and see if I would like him or not. I will never know if I won't try, I'll just do what he said," Amanda said as she slumped her shoulders, leaning back against her chair. It seems like her dreams were all shattered and what she was imagining earlier wasn't granted, she thought to herself, slightly relieved by the news that she had received.
This is bad. This is bad. This is bad. This is bad.
I want Harrison all by myself to the point that I don't want him to be with others. Even if that person is my friend. This is bad, am I being obsessed or what? God, what should I do? She thought to herself and panicked inside her head.
"And also, princess," Amanda called out to her as she was in the middle of panicking inside her head.
"Yes?"
"You're one lucky person."
"Huh? What are you talking about? Where did that come from?" She asked her, confused. Amanda just smiled at her before she opened her mouth to speak, sadness was trailing her voice.
"Take care of Harrison for me," She said before she took the cupcake that Maribelle offered her or more like snatching it away from her as Maribelle was planning on eating it, stuffing it in her mouth. Averting her gaze as she continued to chew the food in her mouth.
Alexandra just stared at her as she blinked multiple times. She was trying to decipher what she meant with that as she didn't understand it one bit.
