Chapter 3: Look For Fresh Meat (1)
Ye Yuqing’s heart was beating very fast, without a second glance, holding the notebook she walked out.
Han Chuan came back to his senses and quickly ran after her.
“Wait!”
She took half a step to the right, avoiding the other party from pulling her hand. “Don’t touch me!”
Han Chuan strode to the front, blocking the way.
The security guard at the door noticed the situation here and directly came over.
Ye Yuqing retreated behind the security guard, the fingers holding the notebook white because of force. “You, were you trying to hit me when you caught up?”
“What?” Han Chuan’s blue tendons on his forehead jumped down, he couldn’t believe it. He took a deep breath and slowed down his speech. “How can I hit you?”
There were dozens of companies in the office building, the flow of visitors wasn’t small, but the security guard knew Ye Yuqing. Whenever this pretty little girl walked in and out and their gazes met, she would smile and greet him.
Full of youthful spirit and cuteness, it was hard for someone not to remember.
“What can’t you do?!” Ye Yuqing broke all Han Chuan filters.
In fact, he had a bad temper and often wore a long face although he’d always treated her well. But she’d already seen through him, and it was different now.
Ye Yuqing thought so and quietly stepped back.
“She’s my girlfriend.” Han Chuan looked at the security guard standing between them, pressing the fire in his heart. “I have something to tell her.”
The security guard looked serious and stood still. He was wary and asked, “Why, the pursuit is not successful, and a man like you wants to beat a woman? If you don’t leave, I’ll call my colleagues. ”
In an instant, the people in the hall cast their gazes, either inquiring or condemning. Unbelievably, there were such savages in a harmonious society.
Under the eyes of everyone, Han Chuan hesitated for a moment and said, “I’m leaving now. Call me tonight.”
The other party had a good temper, and it was not difficult to coax her back, although he didn’t know what to do next he was still confident.
—
When Ye Yuqing returned to the office, the first thing she did was to check the notebook.
Seeing that the boot screen was not the wallpaper she had set up first, she was a little stunned. The screen was the initial page from when she just bought it, and there were only a few icons on the desktop.
Ye Yuqing clicked on the disks one by one … Empty, there was nothing.
There was no data overwriting after the other party formatted. Lost files could be retrieved, but it took a little effort. She was not up for going through the ordeal. She had had a hard disk failure once before, and only part of the manuscript was rescued after using many methods.
After a big loss, one would learn to be smarter. Then on, she had always backed up the manuscript every time. Now, various cloud disks offered quite the convenience.
This time that the notebook was formatted, she lost a six-hour worth of commercial sketch as well as the latest material.
Ye Yuqing closed her eyes but could not calm down her anger. She convinced herself that it was an accident. She picked up her mobile phone to send a message.
[Ye Yuqing: You formatted my notebook.]
[Lin Lanyue: What?]
[Ye Yuqing: You don’t know?]
[Lin Lanyue: Yesterday it was fine when I used it, but if it’s broken, I can pay for the repair, sorry.]
Lin Lanyue tapped her finger on the screen and apologized without any sincerity.
She remembered the day when she went to find Ye Yuqing last week. At that time, she had once again implied that she had a close relationship with Han Chuan, and hoped that the other party would notice something.
Ye Yuqing hadn’t realized her caution and eve happily invited her for a cup of coffee, and then took her for a five or six kilometers walk!
This was Lin Lanyue’s first encounter with a soft nail. Although it was not the intention of the other party, it was more annoying. She was really speechless.
Thus, she got her notebook yesterday and flipped through the illustrations on the desktop. She didn’t have much interest in it and directly formatted it.
Ye Yuqing had once mentioned that she would draw in her spare time. Lin Lanyue hadn’t taken this to heart. All she thought of was- when the notebook gets formatted, even the best tempered people would explode.
Lin Lanyue no longer wanted to beat around the bush.
—
Ye Yuqing was angry, and a bit confused. Besides the notebook, she cared about one other thing.
Did Lin Lanyue not mind her going out with Han Chuan?
This was all too strange. Love had exclusiveness, and it didn’t conform to common sense.
But if she minded it, how could she be this calm?
Ye Yuqing felt something amiss, but couldn’t put a finger on it.
In fact, she had had a good initial impression of Lin Lanyue, who was beautiful and quite enthusiastic. The first time they met, she had even given her a present.
Ye Yuqing had thought that the other party really wanted to be friends with her. She wanted to ask Lin Lanyue for the reason but then thought better of it. The matter was already as such, so what’s the point?
Han Chuan was the one who cheated, and their relationship was already over. She would never forgive him, and was even disgusted to ask him, so why bother to ask Lin Lanyue?
Ye Yuqing didn’t want to be entangled anymore, she looked down and deleted the WeChat accounts of Han Chuan and Lin Lanyue.
Her mind was confused, she couldn’t concentrate on work and didn’t struggle anymore, so she took the initiative to take a half day off.
“Your complexion is very bad, go take a rest. I will do the audit for today.” Lu Jie readily agreed and told her to be careful on the way.
———
Ye Yuqing went downstairs and hailed a taxi on the curbside.
The Valentine’s Day PDA in her WeChat moments continued to today making her a bit uncomfortable.
Right then, someone in her university dorm group tagged her, Ye Yuqing clicked in. As usual, the two ladies had sent more than 100 messages in the group.
Zhang Mumu was a classmate of hers in the Chinese Department. After graduation, she became a reporter. The people’s livelihood news program she hosted had a high local audience rating, she was practical and serious.
She went crazy in the group every day, scolding the bad companies, the responsible department for prevarication, and a bunch of others for letting go the dog that chased her.
As for Xiao Yao, she posted pictures of various clothes, shoes, and cosmetics seeking everyone’s opinion on whether they looked good. She was stuck between whether to buy them or not. The two of them swiped their screens, chatted across servers, and ignored each other.
No one paid attention to it, and they also didn’t keep posting, using the group as a tree hole … They didn’t need other people’s opinions.
Ye Yuqing would reply to these two only when she was free.
[Xiao Yao @YeYuqing: Why didn’t I see you post moments on Valentine’s Day? You don’t have trouble with your boyfriend, right?]
[Ye Yuqing: No]
[Xiao Yao: Is Valentine’s day just a fart love? Why don’t you ask your boyfriend who is greener on the green grassland or Hulunbuir grassland?]
[Ye Yuqing: My head is greener.]
