Hearing his tone, she paused for a second before replying a "hmm...okay"

'He must want to go for a routine check, well, those people should learn to work under pressure too', she thought.

Well, as an assistant her thought process was correct, they both were perfectionists to the dot, after all!

Qin ZiXuan going for a routine check to one of their establishments wasn't something new for the people under them, but just because they were used to his visits didn't mean it was a happy-go-lucky kind of experience.

With the both of them there, who expect you to be nothing less than the best and perfect, it was always a nerve-wracking experience.

There were some reasons why the Empire is flourishing even more than before, this was one of them.

He might give earlier notices or he might come for a surprise inspection, everyone was forced to be at their top condition 24x7.

These small things le to larger and better changes!

She went out to check the porridge, 'it would take another two hours for it to finish cooking and it will take them about 45 minutes or so, so she will leave it as it was.'

Qin ZiXuan came out in casual clothes, not a suit, just a pale blue shirt and fitting pants, outlining his long firm legs and his toned body, he looked handsome with all his hairs put back, showing his perfect face.

"Shall we go?", he asked.

"hmm", she replied before going out.

He was half a step late.

He followed her back till they reached the elevator with a foolish grin plastered on his face, which made him seem like a teen excited for his first date, well, it was not wrong.

The QMX building was huge with numerous floors as described earlier.

Just using it for work was not economical nor good for business for this black-bellied couple, so they turned it into a multiplex with multi-uses.

Even before he took the office, he made sure to convert some floors for other use.

All floors had high ceilings and the space in between was huge.

5 floors were made into suites for the use of the rich, they cost tons.

Only the privileged could get a room in there, this building was kind of the backbone of the Empire, after all, so the checking out of the background, finance, properties under the prospects name and other such information was very strict!!

Well, for example, it was a good place for the S-listers in the entertainment industry.

The security was strict, even stricter than some the security of some famous politicians, the street was in the upper area for the elites and they get to stay under the Qin, this itself was a privilege to brag about.

Meilin didn't stay there because ZiXuan would have made a fuss if she chose the same building and decided to stay in another place, that said, the place she was staying at

Anyway, another floor was a supermarket for the people staying there and also for the employees under the Qin Empire who also got a good discount there.

Plus there was also a floor converted into a gym for the same group of people with a pool area adjacent to it, and a separate floor for the Qins newest private venture in high-end clothing line and brand, 'QE'.

QE, started by Qin 'Elaine' Chun, the daughter of the VP of the Qin Empire, Qin Mingyu.

Elaine was her English name and she was a designer-cum-model under the HE-flag(the Heavenly Entertainment) of the Xun-jia.

She was the youngest daughter of Qin Mingyu who was, by relation, uncle to the couple.

The current chairman was actually the younger of the two kids of his parents and started the business, while his elder brother served the army till death.

Qin Mingyu was the child of the chairman's elder brother and entered the business only because of Qin Mo.

He was a laid back kind of man but strict when it came to his work, the only reason he was not given the CEO position was because;

A. He said he was not up for the position and

B. Meilin gave her full support to ZiXuan.

That said, Qin ZiXuan respected that man as an elder, he was among the few ZiXuan heard the opinion of.

Anyway, Elaine was a year older than the couple and was new to the industry but she had a talent for the job and was well versed in it, considering the fact that, she completed her designer course from an elite university abroad and made her name known both as a model and designer there.

For her to flourish in the country all she needed was a chance and the Qin provided it.

Mind you that, though there may be a little bit of nepotism involved, but to work under the Qin banner, you HAVE to be the best at your field and she was a diamond only to be put on the pedestal to get attention.

QE, was given a probation period for a year and by the end of spring which was a month away, it will be over.

If her sales, conduct, management, and appeal to the elite in the know-how were given an okay by the industry experts by this time period, Qin will become its backbone and after that, it was a smooth journey, that is what it meant to be under the Qin!

It seems all of them were at the edge, as even at this time, the service staff was at their toes with a professional smile on their faces.

The establishment was a 24/7 workshop still to stay alert in this time when their sale was, of course, non-existent was a good show.

When they saw the pair walking down the lane with the exact aloof faces, they all went on high alert.

Though their smile slightly became stiff, they were welcomed with a grandiose, "Welcome" by the whole staff.

Qin ZiXuan had already become the Ice-Emperor and didn't even nod.

Meilin, on the other hand, said in her flat tone, "Relax. We're here to shop and will, on the way, check your records. Please pass the news to your manager while we take a look. I'll be doing the shopping myself and there's no need for you guys to follow me." The last sentence was slightly emphasized.

After she was done saying what was needed to, she directly went to the suit section with ZiXuan in the lead.

Since the sections were separated into rooms and they asked for privacy, the salesperson in the room went out to the lounge area where the whole staff had gathered and were whispering to each other.

A: "Why are they here?"

B: "We were not aware of this ba!"

A: "The CEO coming is fine, but why is the" Empress also here?"

C: "Ah!! We are not serving them? Will the demoness complain. I heard she fires people like killing flies, it's insignificant to her and she always does it on a whim.....I don't want to lose this job!!"

A: "Don't worry, with the CEO here she can't act unreasonably. She was the one to ask us about it."

D(who was a senior among them): "Don't worry. Stop murmuring, this might actually lead you to lose your job and yes, she is someone who holds her work as her pride, she is nothing like what you said. Let's just do our job as always."

A, B&C: "Understood."

These people were still the elites in their field, though scared because of the rumors, they won't act unprofessionally.

D(nodded at them and continued): "Flattery and faking it won't satisfy that pair anyway. Please contact the manager and Miss Elaine."

The last line was directed toward the person at the counter.

E(the counter lady): "Yes, sir."

It seems the order and attitude among the staff could be given an okay, at least, they could use their brain.
