The mecha lifted off, and it felt no different from a high-end spaceship taking off, except this time it was from a pilot’s perspective, making it more intuitive and thrilling.

The walls of the cockpit disappeared, and so did the floor. A spherical display screen expanded around the two-person pilot seat, providing a comprehensive view typical of space mechas.

Fei Xiu saw the rapidly receding surface of the planet and the dazzling starfield.

The mecha flew away from the main star and regrouped at the pre-set test navigation point. The target mechas for testing were already in position.

Both sides’ mechas were out of each other’s range. The R&D director announced the start of the test in the general channel, and both sides’ mechas instantly sprang into action, either moving quickly to engage closely or probing for weaknesses.

Fei Xiu watched as Jun Ye skillfully maneuvered the mecha to dodge and close in. Beams of energy streaked across the spherical screen, creating a dense array of light and shadows, while the mecha’s outer defense remained at 100%.

Jun Ye pressed a button, and a one-person-high data sphere appeared in the empty area in front of the two-person pilot seat, providing a clearer and more intuitive view of the surrounding mechas’ positions and movements.

It was only then that Fei Xiu realized their “Combat Mecha Sequence 1” had already left their teammates far behind and was, by coincidence, positioned at the center of enemy crossfire.

This realization made Fei Xiu break into a cold sweat. This position was not only the target of enemy focus but also at risk of friendly fire from behind.

Jun Ye continued to maneuver the mecha closer, maintaining his calm despite the precarious situation. Every operation was precise enough to be included in a military textbook.

The intertwining energy waves in space created a dazzling display, and Fei Xiu had given up watching the external screen, focusing his eyes on the mecha’s outer defense status, which remained at 100%.

Fei Xiu understood what this meant: their mecha had never been hit, not even grazed.

Could the test weapons be fake?

Inside the main star’s “Lindsay” R&D center, people quietly discussed the mecha that had entered the range but had not attacked and was instead moving stylishly closer to the target.

“Who’s piloting that mecha? Why haven’t they attacked yet? Did they forget to equip the energy gun? Someone from the equipment department, explain.”

“The equipment department is not taking the blame for this. Use your eyes and look at the barrel on the mecha’s hand. But yeah, something seems off with that energy gun…”

“Forget the energy gun. Look at that precise maneuvering. When did we get a pilot this skilled? Could it be that mecha student brought in by Director Jun?”

“By the way, haven’t you noticed that the name of this mecha stands out among the others? All the others are alphanumeric codes, but this one… Is there really no spy among us?”

Only the R&D director, sweating profusely, quickly notified all pilots in a private chat to protect “Combat Mecha Sequence 1.”

Damn Combat Mecha Sequence 1! Even changing the name doesn’t change the fact that it’s just a transport mecha. Can’t it just stay in the back and watch the show?

The R&D director was the only one who knew why Sequence 1 continued moving forward after entering range. Its short range meant its artillery had only half the reach of true combat mechas.

While the R&D center discussed, the space test site saw a dramatic shift as three target mechas were hit and disconnected from control.

“What just happened?” The three pilots, now standing in Lindsay’s simulated control room, looked at each other in confusion, unsure how they were taken offline.

A few seconds earlier, three mechas in the lead had entered Sequence 1’s range.

Seeing Sequence 1 not firing for so long, they assumed it wanted close combat. The test mechas were piloted remotely from the base by real people, so there was no reason to back down.

So, they decided to fulfill this expert’s desire for close combat, only to see Sequence 1 raise its hand and then… nothing more.

The pilots now wanted to curse. We were ready for close combat, and you fired from a distance?

At the space test site, Sequence 1 fired three shots, hitting the central control rooms of three mechas, and sped up, passing the now-defunct mechas. The seventeen remaining target mechas gradually entered its range almost simultaneously.

It was a one-sided slaughter.

Seventeen.

Sixteen.

Fifteen.

Nine.

After firing eleven shots and destroying eleven mechas, Sequence 1 suddenly withdrew to the edge of the test site, far from the battle zone.

Jun Ye turned to Fei Xiu and asked, “How does it feel?”

How did it feel? Fei Xiu didn’t know. It ended too quickly.

He only saw three mechas charging at them, his heart racing, and then… then the Omega cut down most of the mechas like he was chopping vegetables.

Calling them vegetables was an overestimation; the Omega was never this smooth even when helping him cut vegetables in the kitchen.

Maybe it was because the opponents were too weak, or perhaps his Omega was just that incredible!

Fei Xiu’s thoughts were written all over his face, so even without speaking, Jun Ye knew what he was thinking and couldn’t help but laugh.

“Do you want to try? I’ll teach you hand by hand,” Jun Ye offered.

Fei Xiu nodded. He came to learn mecha piloting, and he couldn’t back down in front of the Omega.

Jun Ye tapped a few times on the control panel, releasing Fei Xiu’s safety belt, and extended his hand to Fei Xiu, saying, “Come over.”

Fei Xiu stood up, lifting his leg… The space scene around the pilot seat made him feel like he was falling. His legs felt weak.

The Omega was watching; he couldn’t back down.

Fei Xiu took unsteady steps towards Jun Ye, grabbed his Omega’s outstretched hand tightly, and braced himself on the pilot seat’s backrest, looking down at the Omega.

“How am I supposed to operate the mecha if you don’t get up?” Fei Xiu asked.

“Do you know what ‘hand by hand teaching’ means?” Jun Ye’s eyes glanced suggestively at his lap, saying, “Sit.”

Fei Xiu: “!!!”

Are you kidding me? How can an Alpha (now Beta) casually sit on an Omega’s lap? This is about an Alpha’s dignity!

Cough, although he often did it when they’d get naughty before, but now, in front of so many mechas (even though they can’t see inside), how can…

Jun Ye didn’t make things difficult for him, pulling him down directly and pressing him onto his lap.

Fei Xiu felt like he was back to being punished by a teacher, his body stiff and uncomfortable. It seemed like he was sitting on a cactus instead of an Omega’s lap.

Jun Ye wrapped one arm around Fei Xiu’s waist, fixing him in front, and placed his other hand on the control panel, saying, “I’ll control the mecha, you handle the shooting. Can you do it?”

The Omega’s warm breath on his neck made Fei Xiu feel invincible, as if he could take on ten enemies!

Jun Ye smiled gently, maneuvering the mecha towards the battle zone while explaining the control panel’s buttons and basic operations to Fei Xiu.

Seeing Sequence 1 coming again, the nine target mechas, which had been huddled together after being overwhelmed by Jun Ye, panicked and instinctively started to flee.

This guy would only fire when within half the range, but every shot hit, and a hit meant being taken offline. For the sake of their bonus and dignity, they needed to be the last to die, if they had to die at all.

No matter how the target mechas ran, Sequence 1 followed like a ghost, sticking to them with an eerie precision that defied comprehension.

In the main star base, everyone was stunned: “Is this some kind of eagle catching chicks game?”

One of the target pilots shouted in the team channel, “Split up!”

May Lady Luck guide that demon away. One pilot glanced back to see Sequence 1 right behind him: “Oh no!”

At this distance, it’s within half the range! He’s raising his hand! Firing!!! I’m about to go offline…

Huh? Still online? Missed?

Unbelievable! Thank you, Lady Luck!! The pilot made a sharp turn and fled again.

Another glance back… Damn it! Still following, even closer than before.

The gun barrel is turning! I’m targeted! Ahhhh… Still online.

Lady Luck… Again! Dodge! Missed!

Dodge again, still missed~

The pilot felt Lady Luck must have stolen a kiss from him when he wasn’t looking.

Inside Sequence 1’s cockpit.

Jun Ye watched Fei Xiu, who was furiously pressing buttons, clearly locked in a grudge match with that mecha, and calculated the remaining energy…

Actually, with this hit rate, no need to calculate to know it’s not enough.

Jun Ye sighed inwardly, adjusted his strategy. No longer just dodging and keeping Sequence 1 within range of the target mecha, but actively coordinating with Fei Xiu’s shooting path, adjusting the mecha’s position.

Gun barrel raised, Jun Ye’s fingers moved slightly, subtly shifting to the side while advancing.

Beam fired.

【Beep—M9 target mecha has been taken offline.】

Fei Xiu: …

No way! After pressing so many times and running out of energy, I missed every time! How come this time it hits, and he hits once and it connects?

Fei Xiu was stubborn. He pressed the control panel again and again.

Jun Ye didn’t move, letting him press, feeling slightly remorseful.

“Let’s not practice anymore. There’s no energy,” Jun Ye consoled.

“No way! There must be energy!” Fei Xiu persisted.

Alright then.

Jun Ye glanced at the remaining mechas in the area, not waiting for them to target Sequence 1, and manipulated the mecha to charge towards one.

In the main star base.

“This guy’s going to attack physically after running out of energy!”

“Crazy! Absolutely crazy!”

Jun Ye’s hand fell, a dense network of data appeared, and he switched to a nearly zero-energy consumption weapon.

“Use this.”

Fei Xiu found a virtual operating device appearing in the air in front of him, resembling an ancient joystick.

Fei Xiu: ???

Jun Ye: “This is more intuitive. I’ll control the movement; you take over the rest.”

Fei Xiu: …

The remaining target mechas were either piloted by veterans who’d been through hundreds of battles or elite rookies. Watching Sequence 1 approach, they grew panicked but kept their formation and deployed an energy barrier.

No more energy? Want to engage in close combat? Just try!

Sequence 1, approaching the formation, turned nimbly to the side, swung around behind the mecha, and…

“Jumped?!”

“Just kidding. How can a transport mecha… really jump?!”

“It must be a combat mecha in disguise, otherwise how could it be so agile and…”

【Beep—M9 target mecha has been taken offline.】

The enemy target went offline!

“?!”

How come they died without a fight?

Inside Sequence 1’s cockpit.

“Did you see the holographic data appearing?” Jun Ye’s voice grew serious as he guided, “Now is the critical moment. Seize this opportunity to familiarize yourself with the data operation of each virtual weapon, simulate a battle, and personally experience mecha combat.”

Fei Xiu instantly focused, studying the data panel and following the Omega’s hand instructions, starting to learn the control panel and various virtual operations.

Half an hour later, the remaining eight target mechas scattered throughout the starry sky were sequentially taken offline by Sequence 1.

Jun Ye carefully explained the subtle differences between mecha models and virtual weapon operations to Fei Xiu.

When they heard the R&D director announce the end of the test on the general channel, Fei Xiu breathed a sigh of relief.

In the main star base.

“My mind is completely blown…”

“They really took down eighteen target mechas alone…”

“Aren’t they exhausted?”

In the virtual operation room, the target mecha pilots, including the three who went offline first, had a chance to re-watch the test process and realized just how big a gap there was between them and Sequence 1.

No, they shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath.

One of the rookies, watching Sequence 1 jumping agilely in space, asked, “Hey, didn’t it say that was a transport mecha?”

His mentor sighed and replied, “I suspect there’s a problem with our training. You shouldn’t call yourself a combat pilot after today…”

Fei Xiu shyly said, “C-could you go slower? I want to remember every detail.”

“…Do you want me to record a video too?”

“Ah! Jun, you’re so thorough…”

In a haze, Fei Xiu thought about how Jun Ye had provided him with intimate moments twice yesterday and once today without any pheromones. Moving forward, he’d ensure this became the standard expectation. If Jun Ye fell short, it would mean his Omega had extra energy to spend on a new lover.

At the main star base, the still single R&D director gazed at the sky through a telescope.

Jun Ye said he had some business to attend to and would be an hour late. Half an hour had passed, and the mecha hadn’t moved. What on earth was he doing?

The following events:

Fei Xiu’s performance in mecha combat training was erratic, fluctuating greatly. Because of this, Jun Ye had to personally tutor him.

Since “Xiao Xiu” didn’t have a pilot’s license for aircraft, Jun Ye had to wake up early each day, drive him to school, and then pick him up in the evening to take him to “Lindsay” for one-on-one mecha combat tutoring.

This busy schedule, filled with responsibilities, made Jun Ye feel both pained and happy.

“Xiao Xiu” had endless energy, and the daily demands for intimate moments were wearing out Jun Ye. One weekend, Jun Ye firmly refused Fei Xiu’s advances.

Feeling dejected, Fei Xiu sulked in a corner, playing on his terminal. Soon after, Jun Ye received a notification of a four-digit withdrawal from his account, which brought him some relief. While money flowed into his account daily, the collection of intimate moments required time and patience. He was glad his partner had found a new distraction.

This relief lasted only ten minutes. Ten minutes later, Fei Xiu stomped upstairs and came back down, wearing Jun Ye’s shirt.

Yes, only his shirt.

This wasn’t some romantic boyfriend shirt situation. Given the length of Jun Ye’s shirt, it didn’t cover Fei Xiu’s rear, making for quite an eye-searing sight.

To deter Fei Xiu from ruining his clothes and burning his eyes, Jun Ye provided two rounds of intimacy that day.

This sacrifice seemed worth it. After the second round, Fei Xiu rolled his eyes and passed out.

Jun Ye quickly called a family doctor, who revived Fei Xiu and subtly hinted that “Xiao Xiu” was being overly exhausted and that moderation was advisable.

Reflecting on it, Jun Ye realized that Fei Xiu’s average performance time was just fifteen minutes, and even shorter during intense moments.

After sending the doctor off, Jun Ye returned to find Fei Xiu burying his head under the covers.

It was clear that in this battle of intimacy, Jun Ye had won and earned the reward of “care without a break.”

A few days later, Jun Ye saw a discussion thread on the forum:

“Shocking! A legendary Omega’s current partner was drained after only three months. Is this due to the Omega’s advanced techniques or the Beta’s inadequacy?”

A year later, Fei Xiu graduated from the main star’s top university with excellent grades. He declined offers from numerous powerful military groups and joined the main star’s garrison.

If he had only five years to live in each body, then achieving great things was meaningless. It was better to spend five years protecting his Omega.

Jun Ye didn’t know what would happen when the five-year mark came. The storyline of the training camp ended at “Xiao Xiu” with an ellipsis.

On the day of the five-year mark, they both tacitly stayed at home but didn’t mention the topic, continuing as usual.

In the evening, Fei Xiu asked to sleep alone in the guest room. Dying beside his Omega seemed romantic, but it would be a significant shock for his Omega.

Jun Ye had already been scared twice, and though he never mentioned it, Fei Xiu couldn’t comfortably stay beside him during such a special time.

Jun Ye agreed without asking why, gave Fei Xiu a hug and a kiss, and went upstairs alone.

That night, Fei Xiu watched the terminal’s clock, and Jun Ye monitored the red dot on the system map.

Midnight passed, and nothing happened.

By dawn, before their usual wake-up time, Fei Xiu couldn’t wait any longer and ran upstairs to snuggle into Jun Ye’s bed.

Jun Ye hugged his partner, who climbed up from the foot of the bed, thinking that the rumors of him changing partners every five years to drain their energy might finally be cleared.

Jun Ye’s appearance never aged. His face continued to grow more attractive, from pure to seductive to gentle, changing styles periodically.

Jun Ye thought the system must have gone crazy.

However, his partner must be even crazier, not noticing the change in his style. Did his partner not realize?

In contrast, others frequently praised his appearance, asking him to recommend cosmetic surgery hospitals and makeup brands.

Jun Ye discovered he had become synonymous with cosmetic surgery. His group’s cosmetics sales remained top of the charts, and he founded an interstellar chain of cosmetic surgery hospitals.

Long after, Jun Ye found that his company’s official work account had many fans, with fierce battles under every product launch.

Many criticized him, many defended his looks, and many more participated in the lottery draw because the prizes were substantial. Later, fans and critics decided their battles through who won the first prize in the lottery draw.

Jun Ye wondered which genius came up with this idea.

Fei Xiu always thought Jun Ye maintained his youthful appearance through secret beauty treatments.

Until many years later, they traveled to a remote planet. A local native grabbed his hand, pointing at Jun Ye and asked, “Is this young man your son? He’s very handsome.”

Fei Xiu: …

He knew this body’s age was over ten years younger than his Omega.

At that moment, he realized that Jun Ye hadn’t aged at all since they first met.

It was quite strange, but hadn’t he also changed several bodies? In that sense, they were both abnormal.

Fei Xiu believed that Jun Ye truly loved him. To be with someone who appeared so much older took more than just being a pervert—it had to be true love.

Hmm…

Perhaps his Omega was a bit of both.

“To be with someone who appeared so much older took more than just being a pervert—it had to be true love.” > this is the most hilarious yet ridiculously romantic line I’ve read??? Idk, I’m over here dying of laughter, but it IS kinda sweet xD

Anyways, we’re done with this arc! Maybe you’ve noticed that I’ve been very slow with translating this one despite finishing my other projects and only working on this one, and I admit it’s for sure because I got burned out ^^’ I mean this one is pretty feel-good/easy going and there aren’t really cliff hangers, so I didn’t have the urge to translate everything to immediately figure out the rest of the story xD But anyways, there is 25~ chapters left, so hopefully I will finish the novel before the summer ends
