Raymond pulls over his car at the side parking before he turns off his car engine. "Let's go." He said and open his car door.
Luna at the passenger seat scrunch her eyebrow a bit. "Charleston, waterfront?" She then opens the door and follows Raymond from behind.
'He drives for one hour and a half just to have a 'talk'?'
"You want a popsicle?" Raymond's eyes lit up a bit when he saw there's a popsicle truck which still open right now. And there's also a few people line up in front of that truck. He thinks maybe it's kinda delicious or something and without waiting for Luna to reply he already went there and queuing in the line.
Luna shakes her head and patiently wait for him until he got what he wants. After a few minutes, he extended his hand, holding a long popsicle to her. "Here. It's taste like alcohol." He suckles his popsicle at his right hand.
Luna then takes the popsicle he gives her and tries it. Just like Raymond said. It tastes like alcohol. But then she remembers a few nurses at the clinic did talk about this popsicle which is quite famous around here.
"Don't eat too fast, you'll upset your stomach later." Raymond reminds her and gestures her to follow him to go to the Pineapple fountain. Lucky there are fewer people and they can have a calm conversation.
After they both took a seat at the bench, Raymond glance at the fountain while murmuring, "Why Pineapple though?"
Luna shrugged and says, "I'm not sure. But there's a tradition of if you're not welcoming that person to your house, you just have to put the pineapple at your door. They'll walk away." She still enjoys her popsicle.
Raymond frowned. "Why they would do that though? I mean, they can just say it to that person."
"That's a polite way rather than talk." Luna once again casually said it.
"Hahh…forget about pineapple things, we should begin our 'talk' now." He rubs his head which suddenly a bit pain at his frontal cortex. He thought it might be because of stress.
"Yeah. Sure. Let's talk. You first." Luna gestures her hand to him.
Nodded, Raymond says. "Fine. I'll start. Why you go out of the mansion without telling me? And partying? I know you're not someone who enjoys being there, Luna."
Luna presses her lips together and opens her mouth, she wants to say something but there's no word coming out. After a moment, she pulls out her phone and opens her media social account before she passed her phone to him.
Raymond took her phone and look at the screen with scrunching eyebrows. "Well, for distracting myself. I saw this photo before I decide to go partying. Would you explain yourself?" Luna said.
"I didn't post this," Raymond said and scrolling her phone's screen up and down.
"Of course you didn't. You were tagged and it somehow ends up in my timeline." Luna glance at him and take back her phone from his hand.
"It was just a dinner."
Luna smiles faintly and says, "Yeah, but it doesn't just look like a simple dinner to me. Did you two get back together again? I have to prepare my mind and conscience to stomach all of this you know, you can't just say 'Hey, I'm back with her and you can get ready to get a divorce and dumped by me.' You know I love you.." Luna stops her sentence and corrects it again. "I mean, all of you. So, if you both get back together, just give me a heads up first. So that I can go somewhere and calm myself before I face you again."
Raymond shakes his head and opens his mouth, but he was stopped by Luna's finger which landed on his lips.
"I'm not done yet." She stares at him with intense.
Nodded, Raymond closes back his mouth and gesturing her to continue.
"Yes, I know it was stupid of me to go partying at Nick's house which I fully aware he likes me, but did I have a choice? I never went to any party after I marry you, I need a distraction, space where I can be alone for a moment and that's why I didn't tell you. But, do you have to go that far to hurt someone and nearly kill him, just because you were 'worried' about me? I don't know, Raymond. I guess you and I can't be at peace, huh? But, whatever it is..please, consider my feelings toward you. I mean.." She frowned and says, "You know what I mean."
After done saying that, she leaned on the bench and stare the night sky while exhaling fresh air. Feeling a bit relief to let out all of her thoughts.
"Are you done?" He asked. She looks a bit sad when she says what's in her heart. Probably that's all that she's been mad about for a few days before.
Luna nod and lift up her hand to him. Gesturing him to talk now.
"Okay, first of all, I'm not getting back together with her. We just have dinner as a friend. I had no idea that there's a photo was taken that night. I supposedly returning back here that night, but because she insists on having dinner as a friend, I accept it out of respect for a friend. And I'm mad because you didn't tell me and none of my servants know about your whereabouts. Do you know that the person who tries to kill you is one of the assassins in the underworld? You were being targeted by someone who skilled enough. I can't save you if I'm late. You know how it feels?"
"But, you don't care about me, Raymond. Me dying is a good thing for you, right?"
He scoffed, "There you go again. Making all assumptions as you pleased. Well, maybe you're not important to me, but what about the other two? What they would feel if I fail to save you? THEY fail to save you? Don't you think they'll be more depressed and threatening my life after that? I still wanna live until I grow old. So, until then, you have to be always guarded."
Luna sighs. "Have you found who intending to kill me?"
Raymond shakes his head. "No. I've talked to my parents yesterday. They're not involved in this. They may have gone overboard by harming you, but not to the extent of killing you, that I'm sure of it."
Luna turned silent. 'Then who? And, why me?'
"Believe me, I'll try to solve this case. But, for now..can you cooperate with me? It's for your own safety." Raymond still wants to convince her by putting his bodyguard to ensure her safety.
"But, I don't like being tailed or watched by someone." Luna still feels uncomfortable with his decision. She used to be alone, carefree but now, she had to comply with him?
"Then…would you like me to accompany you? I don't know if I somehow accidentally kill someone later."
Luna gape her mouth open. "Geez..fine, let your man guard me. But don't let me saw them. Okay? I don't like it."
"Fine. As long as you're guarded." He shrugged his shoulder.
"Should we return home now? It's kinda late."
"Yeah, let's go." Raymond standing up and extended his hand to her which then she takes and went back to the car.
"Mm…Raymond, are you sure you're not getting back with her?" Luna glance over the man while still holding his hand. It seems like he doesn't intend to let go of her hand any moment now.
"No. Why?" He steals a glance to her before he averts his eyes back to the road.
"Well, you kinda love her. I mean, for eight years..there's must be something that you really hold dear to your heart. I can see that you're a faithful man. It such detrimental that you and Sarah have to end this way."
Scoffing, he then says, "So you want me getting back with her? I don't know what's in your mind, Luna. But, could you just stop matchmaking me with her?"
Luna pouts and turns her head to the window, looking at the outside of the window.
"If we're meant to be, then nothing will obstruct our way. But, if not, then..maybe I was meant for someone else. That's it and stop talking about this again."
