"Raymond," He turns around and looks at his son with a smile on his face. It such a scary smile and not the warmest smile.
Raymond slowly went to Luna's side and look at the man. Still, he feels afraid of him. "Y-yes, f-father?" He answering him with a low voice.
James pointed his two fingers in front of Raymond's eyes and gestures him to focus, "Look closely, how to shoot a pigeon." He then lifts up his right hand to the bodyguard who he brought along today. It more than twenty people surrounding the place with a black suit and sunglasses.
A man comes forward and gives him a set of a rifle that is half-covered in gold plate and a set of earmuffs to cover his ear. James took it and put it on the earmuff before he turns to his son again.
"First, you have to aim your target." He gestures one man who standing at the corner of the field to release the bait. Once the bait is released, he then said again.
"Second, you have to shoot it right to its vital point." He lifts up his rifle and aims for the pigeon who fly passing them around 150 meters away.
With only three seconds, he releases a shot.
Bang!
Raymond flinched and cover both of his ears while shutting his eyes close. It was so loud and he doesn't like it. The violent his father teach him today, he feels so wrong.
Luna at the side also flinched a bit. She blinks her eyes when she saw the pigeon which got hit by the bullet and already dead at the end of the field. One of James's men clears the area by taking the dead bird away.
"See, it's easy, right? Now, let see your skill." James pats on Raymond's shoulder and gestures his men to give him a set of a loaded rifle with the bullet and earmuff before he turns to look at Luna.
"I heard you have been going to a party the day before yesterday, huh? Have you enjoy yourself?" He coldly asked which makes Luna gulped.
"N-no, father. It was my mistake and it never going to happen again." Luna immediately lowered her head and promise to him. The stare he gives her sending her to shivering a bit.
"Hmph, Luna, let me make you clear." He glances at his son which already put on the earmuff with the help of his men.
"I actually don't give a damn about you at all. You were just my son's plaything. He'll throw you away when he's got bored. But then...I realize something." He averts his eyes back to the girl. "You somehow have become my son's favorite plaything, which I won't allow it. You were not one inch close to any wealthy families, on top of that, you are a murderer child. Huh! Such a low-class human." He scoffed.
Luna was dumbfounded and raise up her head to look at the man with a question face. "What did you just said?" He utters it slowly. It's hard to believe what she just heard just now.
Again, he scoffed. "Are your parents not telling you? They are a murderer. How shameless are you trying to be a madam in my family? Oh! You are so dumb! And I hate the dumb girl. You just remind me of my ex-wife. So weak."
He then gestures his men to release another pigeon for Raymond to shoot. Once the pigeon is released, Raymond did not shoot, instead, he let it fly into the woods.
It makes James grit his teeth. "Why don't you shoot?!" He smacks Raymond's head which then Raymond whimper a bit.
"I-I can't. It feels wrong." Raymond argues with him while rubbing his head.
With that being said, James instructs his men to take Luna and bring something on the cage to the end of the field.
"Wrong? Then I'll teach you which one is wrong. You should've listened to me from the beginning, son."
"H-hey..don't touch me!" Luna was trembling when two men holding her arm and dragged her to the end of the field.
Raymond was shocked when Luna was dragged but he didn't dare to move his feet when his father glared at him. He can only beg at the man's leg.
"Please…don't hurt her! Please!"
James chuckles and bends down his body to look at Raymond's pathetic face. "I'm not the one who will decide her ending. It's your call whether she lives or not."
He then stands up again and forces him to pick up his rifle. "Pick up your weapon and choose your target. Choose carefully." He smirked and instruct his men to let out the animal inside the cage.
...
Luna was brought to the end of the field and was tied up with a chain on her ankle and wrist. She just looks like a prisoner, looking at the two men standing at the other side of the field.
She scrunched her eyebrow when she saw Raymond was like begging to the man and soon later, a few men bring out the cage which covers with black cloth. The whining sound from the cage makes Luna's heart almost stop.
"Danny!" She shouts and once the dog was released, he also got chained just like her. Standing there at the end of the field and she could see Raymond was wiping his tears. Holding up his rifle.
Her heart beating faster.
…
"Like I've said. Choose wisely. In ten seconds, if you do not shoot either one of them, I'll shoot your wife." James said and pick up his rifle again.
Carchak! He loads another bullet and ready with his target.
"Ten seconds son.. either one of them can live. Your choice." He grinning and five of his men surrounding Raymond and point their guns to him. Pressuring him to shoot and not to shoot at another way, (which is the man beside him.)
Raymond's trembling. Her hand and body were trembling and he sniffles a little. "I'm so sorry."
"Ten, nine, eight, seven…" James counting at his side while ready to shoot the girl.
From afar he could see, the girl was trembling and crying, trying to stop them. 'Huh! You think you can control my son?'
"Three, two, one."
Bang!!
Luna was so shocked. Her knees fall down on the ground with her tears flowing down her cheek.
"No!!!!!"
