Chapter 176 - My Son's Butler

Science Academy.

Raymond saw a few female workers wearing a lab coat, he then stops them and asked them about Dr. Kamal who was supposed in this department.

"Hi, excuse me. Do you know where can I meet Dr. Kamal? Pathology researcher?" He asked one of them. Well, they look beautiful and when he asked a question they both looked a bit surprised.

"Oh, I'm sorry. But..Dr. Kamal from the Pathology department was just founded dead yesterday, so…I don't think you can meet him." Said one of them.

"What?" Raymond blinks her eyes a few times, surprised. "How?"

"Erm..the police are still investigating the cause. But, it was classified as a murder case. If you don't mind, why did you want to meet him?" The other girl asked with a creased on her forehead.

Raymond gulped a bit. He feels it's no coincident when Dr. Kamal is murdered and his phone was hacked by someone. All of his data about the DNA is wiped out from his file.

"Em, Sir?" The girl asked again.

"Oh, yes..sorry." He smiles faintly to both of them. "I actually came to fetch something that Dr. Kamal help me with the test. But, I guess I came a bit late. Anyway, thank you."

The two of them smile and nod their heads before they walk away. Raymond sighs and ruffles his hair a bit. 'Messy. All is mess up right now.' He grunts inwardly before he walks back to the car where Jamal already awaits for him.

"Jay.." He calls him and Jay starts the car engine.

"So, where to, Mr. Ray?" He steals a glance at the man before he drives out and focuses back on the road.

"Jay..are you a student?" He didn't answer his question, instead, he asked Jamal a question which Jamal feel a bit odd.

Jamal scrunches his eyebrow, "No. I just graduate and I'm job hunting right now. This is only my part-time work." He still replies to his odd question though.

"How about if you work with me?" Raymond suddenly offered him a job.

Silence for a few seconds, Jamal then tilt his head a little. "As a…?"

"My son's butler. Which means you will have to stay beside him most of the time. Report to me about his well-being and everything to me. But, before that, you'll have to go training first." Raymond looked at the man beside him.

"You'll get a very good salary and a lot of benefits." He assured him.

Jamal opens his mouth like he wants to say something but then he closes it back. Thinking for about another five minutes before he says, "Which means, I'll have to go outside? Is there something troubling you, Mr. Ray? I could tell there's something happened, isn't it?"

Raymond smile. "You're good. I like that. To be honest, your life is in danger. If you stick by my side, I might save your life but I can't guarantee you will be fine with your own."

Jamal immediately looks at the rearview mirror and around the car. Trying to spot any suspicious car which might be following them.

"No, they're not here," Raymond assured him. He sure whoever that 'someone' sends to silence Dr. Kamal might be already fled away from this country along with the DNA report.

"Are you sure? I learn some taekwondo and Pencak silat 1 , you know?" Jamal still looks around them while keeping their car at the safe distance from the front car.

Again, Raymond looks at the man. "Good to know you know a certain way to protect yourself. Think about my offer."

Jamal glance at him before he slowly nods his head. "Sure." They going back to the zoo and wait for the rest of them at the exit door. Because the two of them are engaging with the conversation, they didn't go inside and join them.

Raymond mostly asked about the place where he can go and spend the day with only him, Luna and Alex after this. Of course, Jamal was ready to help. And maybe Brian will comply too.

After all, this is probably the last time he'll see his son before they part again.

KL bird park,

After bought the admission ticket, the three of them entering the bird sanctuary. It's not like watching the bird in the cage. Inside here, mostly, the bird freely walks, fly and we can feed them too. There are only a few birds in the cage, but half of it was let it free.

Even today is Friday, but there's a lot of tourists too.

"Wow! Is that…a peacock?" Alex said excitedly when the peacock walk passing by him.

"Yup. There's another peacock over there too." Raymond pointing his finger at the fountain area near them. He then takes off his camera and giving it to Alex. "Take as many pictures as you want."

Luna didn't say anything. It was still a bit awkward to spend time with the man she used to love. When Alex was distracted with his camera, Raymond put his hand around Luna's waist while walking down the pathway.

Luna turns her head to the man. "Hey..what're you doing? People will look at us," She whispered.

Raymond smile, "So? You're still my wife. I don't see any problem with that. There's a lot of family and couple too inside here."

Luna squinting her eyes, "But they are different than us."

"We're not that different from them. I love you and we still married and we have a child too, what's the difference? We look just like a perfect family, didn't we?"

Luna stops her pace and looks at him with a serious expression. "But I don't love you." She said and Raymond pressed his lips together. A bit hurt, but he had to accept it.

"Liar." He pulls back his hand from her waist and intertwines his finger with hers. "Will this be okay?"

Luna averts her eyes. She didn't reply to him and he walks again, following Alex from behind and enjoy the view inside the sanctuary. They have to be careful sometimes. The bird is actively walk on the walkway and sometimes it bites too.

When they passed the parrot area, Alex insists on taking the photo with the parrot which the bird park crew host it. And to not let Alex's down, Raymond and Luna agree to take the family picture together.

The picture came out beautiful. And like always, Raymond's face attracts people to look twice at them. And each time she glances at him, he would smile sweetly to her.

Just like when they're still in a good term a few years back. Even the 'night' Raymond often giving her that smile.

From the Bird Park, they walk to the Planetarium and lastly, they went to Merdeka Square. They choose to walk because Alex said that it feels more like 'tourist' and he wants to exercise too.

When it was almost dark, Jamal fetches them up and they went to outskirt city to find something to eat. Jamal thought of eating 'Satay Kajang' 1  with them, thus he brought them to the location.

Lucky for him, all of them did not object to his choice and they went to the restaurant. Jamal did the order for them and knowing that Raymond can't handle spicy, he makes sure that everything he ordered did not as spicy as before.

When the waiter brings them the plate with a lot of skewers that consist of meat, chicken, and something that he wasn't sure what it is, Raymond squinted his eyes a bit. "Why they're different? I mean, I thought Satay would be like one type only."

Luna chuckle hearing his word. She then took the skewer and give it to the man. "This is what the local call 'Babat' . 1 .erm, a part of cow, but edible. Try it and dip with this sauce." Luna shoves him a small bowl with a peanut sauce in it.

He inhales and took the skewer before he dips it with the sauce and bites it. His face clearly frowning while chewing it and he nods his head a little. "Erm, you right. It's edible.." He immediately grabs his drink and chugged it to wash the aftertaste in his mouth.

Another round of waiter comes and serves them with different cuisine. This time, it was Alex and Brian's order. "What's that?" He asked Alex.

Alex takes the forked and spins it around the noodles. "Mee Goreng Mamak or you could say.." He frowned a bit, "Fried noodles?"

"Want to try it?" Alex offers his plate to Raymond and Raymond shrugged his shoulder a little. "Why not?"

Is martial art from the geo-cultural area of the Malay archipelago. It is traditionally practiced in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, portions of the Philippines, the southern part of Thailand and the central part of Vietnam. Satay is more likely a snack for Malaysians, Indonesians, Singaporeans, and Bruneian. And usually sales in the late evening to midnight. 'Satay Kajang' is a brand name or outlet name. (if I'm not wrong.) Like a cow belly?
