Chapter 177 - Goodbye, Luna

After dinner, they went to the watch a firework show at the open space in Alamanda Putra Jaya.

"Why there's a firework show today?" Raymond crossing his hand around his chest while watching the firework in the sky. Today's Friday and he wonder why since this morning there are so many cars on the road and people are crowded around this city.

"Oh, actually tomorrow is a National Day, so most of the citizens got an early day off," Jamal explains to him. He also just remember today's date and to why's there many people and cars everywhere he goes.

"Oh, It's in August, right? Hmm..time flies so fast." He murmurs and turns his head to the girl who licks a lollipop with two of her children. Enjoying the night sky filled with the art of firework.

Brian also looks a bit relax around them and he didn't mind that man for now. The truth has been told by Luna and he now needs to confirm it. His flight to New York is tomorrow around noon and they also will return back to Singapore on the same day. He sighs.

Too many things in his head right now.

"Need this?" Jamal handed him a bottle of coke which then Raymond scrunch his eyebrow a bit.

"When the hell did you go and buy this?" He somehow feels like this man is like a ninja or maybe a 'Doraemon?' He took the bottle from Jamal's hand and unscrew the cap.

"Just now. When you lost in your thought." Jamal grins at him and clinks his bottle with him. There's actually a vendor near them so when Raymond was lost in his thought, Jamal went to buy this drink before he gives it to him.

"You look distracted." He commenting when seeing Raymond chug the coke until half of his bottle.

"Yep, I am. Thanks, by the way." Raymond took out his wallet and Jamal immediately stop him. "Don't. It's my treat as a…friend?"

Raymond smile at him. "Friend, huh? I never had one." He murmurs and turns his head to look at the firework.

A few minutes later, Luna turns her head to the sides and looks at Raymond who actively talks with Jamal. She didn't hear the details, but she could see that Raymond somehow look a bit cheerful.

When she was observing him, he suddenly turns his head around when he was still laughing. After seeing her, he suddenly stops and adjusting his posture back. Luna smiles and shakes her head a little.

On their way back to the car, Raymond grabs Luna's hand when the others didn't notice them from the back. "Can we talk?"

Luna nodded her head before they slowly walk together. "I want to spend my last night with Alex..and if possible, will you come too?"

Luna averts her eyes to the ground. "Raymond…you're gonna married soon. If someone sees us, they'll ruin your reputation and your..wedding."

"But this is the only time I can spend with you and Alex... I gonna miss you both, please?"

Luna rubs her face, "It's improper for me-"

"I won't do anything to you." Raymond turns her around to face him and lift up her chin to look at him. Staring at her green eyes, he says again. "I promise."

Luna also stares at his deep and dark grey eyes. It always attracts her to his mysterious gaze. Sighing, she slowly nods her head. "Okay. But, I need to make sure my baby Lily goes to sleep first."

Raymond smiled at her. "Sure."

It was late at night when Raymond put Alex down on the center of the bed and he lay beside him while Luna takes the other sides of the bed.

He propped his head with his hand and he played with Alex's finger. It kinda small and it's cute. "You're my world." He murmurs and brings his hand to his lips and gently kiss on it.

"Luna," Raymond still looking at Alex and Luna replying to him with a simple 'hm' . "Does it hurt?" He asked, which then Luna tilt her head a little.

"I mean..giving birth to my child." He still scrutinizing Alex's face, hair and everything on him. He just looks like him when he was younger. Except there's a little resemblance of Luna from his hair color and his nose. Very cute though.

Luna shakes her head. "No, not really. It's hurt a first, but when the first time I heard his cries, all the pain I felt suddenly vanish and I feel so happy after that."

Raymond averts his eyes to Luna which she looked at Alex and play with his hair a bit. Smiling contently. He moves his hand and slips her hair strand to behind her ear. "I'm jealous of you."

Luna averts her eyes to the man who stares at her gently. "I'm not even appearing in his life before. I'm a bad father, didn't I?"

Luna silent. It's not that she wants to separate them but, he will only bring harm to them in the future. She had to protect Alex from Wayne. If only Raymond is not one of the Wayne, she sure her life will be definitely different right now. They've probably led a happy life like other normal couples and families in this world.

Raymond caresses Luna's cheek and she flinched a bit. "Thank you," Raymond said and smile at her. Again, Luna still silent. Not knowing how to respond.

"For giving birth to my child and raise him well. How I wish I could be part of his life."

Luna gulped and she averts her eyes to Alex again. "We should sleep now. Good night, Raymond."

Raymond moves his hand and turns off the lamp. "Good night, love."

….

The next day,

Alex looks gloomy and he didn't say any word at all since morning. He has been holding his tears when he saw Raymond already pack all of his things inside his backpack.

Luna notices how Alex holds his emotion and keeps a steady face even though the air surrounds him turns gloomier. He really got attached to Raymond quite fast and it hurt her to see him like that.

"Baby.." Luna touches Alex's shoulder and he didn't even look her in the eyes. "I'm sorry," Luna says her sorry dearly. She knows it must be hurt him somehow and she…still not able to let everything back to the way it was.

Alex shakes his head. "No no..its not mama's fault. It's not anybody fault." He tries to speak without breaking his voice.

Raymond who just check-in, went to the group and look at Brian for a moment before Brian bring Lily to buy some chocolate at the outlet followed by Jamal. Leaving the three of them to say goodbye.

Raymond forcing a smile on his face and embracing Luna tightly. "Take care and thank you," He whispered to her before he kissed her cheek softly.

Luna nod. After pulling the hug, Raymond bends down and hug Alex dearly. "Please, take care of mama when I'm not around. Okay, buddy?" He kissed his top of the head and give him a fist bump which Alex bump with his.

"Must you go, papa?"

Raymond's eyes were teary a bit. Finally, he got to hear the word that he long want to hear it. "I have to. But.." He pulls him again into his embrace. "I'll be back," He whispered slowly to him.

He stands up and ruffles his hair a bit. Sniffles and says, "Be a good boy." Alex nods his head and also sniffles a bit. "Now..goodbye, baby boy."

Alex forcing a smile on his face. "Mm!"

Just a step forward, Raymond stop his pace and turn around back. He swiftly pulls Luna's head and kissed her on the lips which she was surprised but she didn't push him either.

They kissed for a half minute before Raymond pull his lips back. "Goodbye, Luna."

He said and turn around, leaving them to enter the gate and never look back again. When his figure is gone, Alex suddenly broke into tears and Luna had to calm him down.

"Baby…please..don't cry." Luna's voice a bit breaking and her eyes a bit red. She pulls Alex into her embrace and hugs him tightly.

"I'm sorry, baby.." Luna keeps telling him that and Alex shakes his head until Brian and Lily come back.
